10/02/09(Fri)00:58 No.6096446>>6096232 Link to the Past: Ball and Chain Trooper - Knight with a ball and chain. Can be included as-is. Armos Knights - A cadre of heavily-armored soldiers in demonic-looking armor. Could be from an enemy kingdom, or enchanted magic suits of armor. Not too difficult to rationalize. Lanmolas - SANDWORMS! A good way to make the desert a bad place to be stuck in. Can be included as-is, frankly, or modified in any way that makes them still be sandworms. Take a cue from "Tremors," perhaps? Moldorm - Giant slug, or worm, or eel... any of those would be options. Agahnim - It's an evil wizard. Can be included as-is. Helmasaur - Treat it like an Oliphaunt, maybe? Living siege weaponry from a distant land, armored to protect its vitals and used to crush ground troops. Essentially it's an armored ankylosaurus, so it could easily fall into the same "big lizards" category as dragons. Just without breath weapons. Arrghus - Giant floating monster jellyfish, surrounded by its young. I would NOT take this out of the water, but making it the game equivalent to a sea monster isn't a bad plan. Having to fight lots of "mini-monster" minions while the main creature is putting tentacles around a ship the PCs are on makes for a good dramatic scene, too. Mothula - Giant monstrous moth. Go the "mothman" route with this one, make it a strange, quasi-mythological cryptid only seen at night. Even better if you make this one NOT a villain, but instead a misunderstood sentient. |
