Keeping in mind the thread is over, It seems that the Omniarch is a particularly aggravated case of whatever created Athlete. We are a species with an ability to evolve as individuals, not just as a group, and as time goes on, increasing numbers of individuals seem to just suddenly develop the gifts of Slul-Huggoth, making them much more psychically capable and causing them to evolve faster even than us.
It seems the timeline was something like this: Schmahkah impregnated one of his sisters, and sent her on a pilgrimmage elsewhere. It seems unlikely that Schmahkah could have known the source of our origin himself, but ultimately, the Sister's group, or just herself, found our birthplace. The Omniarch ended up there. He, like Athlete, was blessed with the accelerated growth, evolution, and psychic abilities that only about one in every 30 of each generation possess.
SOMEHOW, he was able to use knowledge they found in this place, either by taking over the lab, interrogating a scientist, or clandestinely using the equipment, to customise his brood and even further enhance his psychic abilities to the point of being able to utterly dominate his fellows. The 8 foot finslugs were probably brothers he felt threatened by and forced them to only grow, not evolve.
He continued to enhance his knowledge of whatever horrors were done in that place, until he was able to capture flyer and FORCE assimilation of DNA into him, probably harnessing the natural evolution abilities of our race to ensure the result was stable. He also tried this with lesser beings he captured from our hive, but it didn't work, possibly because only Flyer at the time had been on the cusp of being blessed by Slul-Huggoth. |
