You are Hannah. Also known as H.A.N.A. <A13> or simply as Thirteen, you are the product of Terran Empire biotechnology and designed to act as a living ship controller interface and as a substitute to Artificial Intelligence. You witnessed the destruction of the first extraterrestrial race Humanity encountered among the stars and saw Humanity retreat into the Void as the results of its arrogance began to destroy it. You rebelled against the Fleet to side with your friend, Six, as she and five other H.A.N.A. mutinied aboard the “Prime”, a Fleet Dreadnought. And lastly, your wrecked ship crash-landed on a planet called Thanela Prime, where you remained frozen in Cryostasis for 2000 years until an alien xenoarchaeologist team woke you up. Upon awakening you decided to go with the Seekers that found you to see their civilization heads, and the heads of the Trispecies alliance that is currently in place. Along the way your ship, the "Light Bringer", sufferers from a strange Jump Malfunction and is jerked into a strange solar system, where it is attacked by Pirates. You precede to kick some pirate ass in an impressive spacewalk, and the surviving ship's crew and Captain join you to retake a second Pirate vessel. You head to the Assura system and have a chat with the Council of Three, receive a new ship, befriend the ghost of Nineteen, and meet HANA B for an explosive encounter.

You quietly slip back into your pod after letting HANA B2 rest, and decide to head back to the Assura Station to investigate the dig site the Scientists were asking you to check out. It also wouldn't hurt to get the holes in your ship patched up, as well as Engineering re-pressurized again.

The remnants of the Seeker fleet form up around you, and stars turn to lines as you jump back.

"We are sorry for the additional protection, but extensive measures have been taken to keep you safe. Your statement to our people did little to assure those who fear humanity. There have been... outbursts. We would appreciate it if you would separate yourself for a time from our immediate space. We need to calm the masses, and settling insecurities will take a while. But to business.

We have received the report delivered from your fleet, and we have some inquiries for you. How is your new companion's mental state? Due to her... violent outbursts, we are concerned for both her safety and that of our people in case of further 'incidents.' We realize that we cannot extract punishment for the lives lost due to the delicate predicament of your race, but we will remove her from our space if necessary.

On another note, I don't think that the Seekers know that humanity is hiding; I'm tempted to tell them that all the jump data relevant to it was wiped, but then they would know that there are humans in hiding. Honestly, I think we should just not tell them. Let humanity stay asleep until the Seeker are ready for them; look at the ruckus we've caused. Since they aren't looking for it, they won't find it odd that it's not there. No need to say anything about the databanks being wiped; act like there's nothing missing.

You return to the ship to bring Two. You can see that the workers have already started patching the holes in the ship, but it would take some time before it was completely fixed.

You approach Two's room, and the guards outside let you in without a hassle. She seems to have just woken up, as she is sitting cross-legged on her bed. She is no longer in her white spacesuit, but is covered in a formfitting bodysuit that is black with red stripes down the sides. Ion Cannons tend to be beam weapon oriented - a stream of charged ions projected to superheat a target's hull and eventually melt through it.

Ion Pulse cannons are faster firing but have a shorter range - they are not as concentrated as Ion Cannons but make up for it with an effective point defense capability, as well as able to project ions for longer periods of time than their Cannon counterparts.

You nod your approval, and you and Two are escorted towards the entrance - joined shortly by a group of twelve suited up Seekers. Two of them are carrying cutting apparatus, and another is bringing a small Geiger counter.

You all switch on your headlamps, and duck through the narrow entrance. The bright lights illuminate what appears to be a large white reception desk in front of you, as well as a gaping hallway. Dust covers the floor thickly. Your helmet monitors show that the atmosphere inside is breathable.

At the reception desk a withered corpse is slumped over, hiding its grin with its head on desk. Several turrets are hanging loosely from the walls, but there are no signs of them having been fired. Against the solid blast doors is another corpse, with its back supported by them. Above it is something written in a rather dark color.

You head off in the direction of the Main Generator, with Two looking nervously around behind you. You have to take a couple flights of stairs down as the elevators aren't working, passing a couple corpses on the way. The Main Generator doors have been violently bent inwards, the metal they were made of having been twisted and scorched in some sort of explosion. You enter the room, and the large power core in front of you is silent. Long cables run from it in various directions, and several of them have been cut roughly in two. You can see several axe blades sticking out of some of the thicker cables, but the heads have been partially melted to the floor. There are also heavy scorch marks on the metal walls of the room, and you notice several white imprints in the shape of bodies.

I mean, they might not even be able to identify the Seekers at all and just leave them alone. If we can restore power, we can send them someplace that we've cleared of turrets, then see if the turrets try to shoot any of us. If they don't make our way to Security to find out what happened, since there will likely be security logs there, and if they DO start shooting us or the Seekers then we'll just turn the power off again.

I hear you. Thanks for playing - next session will hopefully be tomorrow night (Friday) at 8 PM EST, as there is no way I'm going to be able to get through what I have planned for this tonight.

Installation Integrity frst; let's make sure this place isn't about to collapse on top of us.

    Then Notices.

    Then Logs.

Then Security Controls, which I imagine are for things like the turrets and security dorrs and bulkheads.
    >> Anonymous 01/29/10(Fri)00:48 No.7820320
    >>7820283
Logs, then notices, then installation integrity and finally security controls. The first three should be full of useful reports on what was going on, and the last might give us a bit of control.

I find myself wishing that we'd done this in cyberspace so that we could prevent the seekers from viewing everything that we learn.

If you find yourself wishing that, then you always could stop and hook up. I'll wait a sec to see if you folks change your mind.

I don't know about what we should do after, but first should definitely be checking to see if this place might collapse, so Integrity report.
    >> Anonymous 01/29/10(Fri)00:52 No.7820390
    >>7820344
Check integrity report manually, I guess. Then security controls; it occurs to me that we might be able to deactivate any anti-HANA cyber-defenses from there. The sensitive information will be in notices and logs anyway.

    I'm down with that.

You quickly bring up the Integrity report, and are informed that the installation is structurally sound and pressurized. The Main Generator is OFFLINE. The Cores are ONLINE. There is power throughout the installation. The Main Blast Doors have been BREACHED. Turrets are OFFLINE.

Security Controls brings up a list of items to activate/deactivate.

    -Security Doors [ACTIVATED]
    -Turrets [DEACTIVATED]
    -Crowd Control Measures [ACTIVATED] {DEPLETED}

    >>7820459
Deactivate crowd control, just in case. Radio back that we're going to try to open the blast doors, then open the blast doors. Request information on Turret option; is there a Help file for that or something?

You disable Crowd Control Measures, and look at Turret information.

"Activating Turrets will enable the Friend or Foe engagement protocol, and they will begin to actively scan for threats."

-If you want to open the Blast Doors through the Security Doors function, all other security doors in the complex will open.
    >> Researcher Sam 01/29/10(Fri)01:08 No.7820571
    >>7820543
In that case, do not open blast doors. Request information on FoF targeting protocols; what is deemed a friend and what is a foe?

Obviously, but through what method? RFID tags on gear? Facial recognition software and comparison to a database? Implanted beacons in all personnel? Something else?

And what would classify as a threat? Any non-human lifeform? Cause that would really be bad for the Architects and Seekers.

    >>7820619
'Twould appear so. I don't mind continuing, but I'm not usre how everyone else would feel knowing that it is just one person making the decisions.

Ah, then none of us would likely qualify. Best to leave it off.

    Log time now? Or Notices?

We should poke around for the database used to keep a personnel registry, then.

Check what the crowd control measures that we deactivated were. I darkly suspect toxic gas, given the dead people with no marks of violence on their bodies.

I'd like to uplink with the database directly when it comes time to access potentially sensitive information. Unless we're sure that no one else here can read the human language of administration and no one has a visual recorder. Or we know they're on our side (we don't).
