You know, I've just realized that we've let the rebels fortify their position for a year now.

    This could get really ugly.

OP, can you tell us how our citizens view the rebels? Or, because they've been so quiet, did our people forget about them?

    >>17688060
Man, I've been asking this for months. Are they seen as heros or terrorists?

How are our intel assets coming along? We need to keep tabs both on the (possibly state sponsored) rebels as well as the (possibly state sponsored) pirates.

Seems to me like we have some big enemies in the shadows.

    SEPTEMBER 2014 - STATE REPORT
    ________________________________

    -Russian 30 BMP-2s have arrived.
-India order of 100 BMP-2 Mortar Variants have arrived.
Advisers: With this many mortars, we should be able to level an enemy... it will look splendid.

-Economy Alert! Your finances seem to be dwindling due to corruption somewhere in your government...

-Agriculture Alert! Your farm lands are having some issues with neighboring tribes in the north, the tribes claim that some of that land has always been theirs - even if they have not used it in a century or two...

-World News: United States and NATO forces have attacked Iran. Iran has attempted to close the straight. A carrier and several ships, including tankers, have fallen to Sunburn missiles in the straight, temporarily blocking world oil supply. Prices have gone through the roof and rising. Russia warns NATO that this was a poor move to make, but seen as simply sabre rattling over this topic as always.

-Ghana's first visitors have used the highway, bringing local tourism in! They will be in the capital for a few weeks.

-Brazil would be interested in hosting a soccer match between our and their nations - if we could gather a team soon.

    -Reactor security has been doubled.

-No further reports of rebels or other news.
    >> SEPTEMBER 2014 - STATE REPORT Grand Leader Quest !tr.t4dJfuU 01/26/12(Thu)20:18 No.17688165

Economy: Have the KGB guy and his trainees investigate.

Agriculture: Send a diplomat. Would the tribes prefer to work the land themselves?

World News: Oh, balls. This is not good for our economy, or our military.

    Ghana: Encourage the tourism industry.

Brazil: Excellent. Create a national team, and prepare our most talented Vuvuzela musicians.

Perfect time to use KGB guy.

    >Agriculture

    Begin negotiations with the tribesman.

Soccer: Hell yeah. Get all up in that African league. Although we'll need a stadium, assuming we don't have one yet.

Rebels: Time to spread some propaganda about how terrible they are.

    >Indian Mortar BMP-2
That was supposed to be 100 of the infantry mortars, not the BMP-2 variant.
Because we're going into a jungle, and the IFV's will have a hard time getting into position.
Order 100 of the OFB 51mm E1 mortars for our infantry.

    >Corruption
Corruption will not be tolerated! Find the source, and plug it. Make sure that the trial is public, and that the sentence is heavy.

    >Agriculture
Send a negotiation team. Try to find a compromise, such as allowing the tribals to have the land as long as they work it under our policies.

    >Russia and oil
Talk to Dmitri again. Tell him that money is no object in making sure that the rig is safe and secure. We can make it all back because of the oil market right now, and Russia stands to profit as well.

    >Brazil
Send out a national call for soccer try-outs. Let's get a team together.

    >Rebels
Continue sending more Pathfinders, ask our PMC if they have any kind of aerial recon asset we can pay to get images of the rebel camp.

    >100 BMP-2 Motars

    >SPITTAKE.JPG

HOLY SHIT. OP, I believe that number was for the man portable WW2 motars. We only ordered 10 of the BMP Motar Variants.

    Economy alert:
Contact the KGB agent. We need to ferret out the corrupt officials. Have them gather proper evidence. We need to do this properly and hang the culprits, showing that such actions will not be tolerated.

    World News:
Damn, this is Firestorm: Iran. More income is good anyways. See if the US would like more tasty crude in exchange for favourable trade and aid.

    Ghana:
Welcome our visitors. This is a great step forward for both countries. Perhaps we should consider a state visit to strengthen ties.

    Brazil:
Excellent. We welcome the soccer heroes with open arms.

    Rebels:
Have our generals begin planning a operation to take out the base. Bring in the PMCs and pathfinders to provide intelligence and local ground knowledge in the planning. Time to take the bastards out.

    OCTOBER 2014 - STATE REPORT
    _____________________________

-KGB and ZIA will be investigating.
-Tribals will work the lands, but not be slaves.

-Rebels have attacked the gold mine! Your security drove them off. The Rebels, a studious observer said, had American weaponry.

-National Soccer Team has been formed and are current practicing! They are doing a so-so job.

-Tourism, Ghana visitors enjoyed their stay and access to BBC, Internet, and Ice Cream!

-African Union has accepted us! Hurray!

-Russia does not want us to sell crude oil or products thereof to America.

-National Bank of Zanzia established... KGB guy recommends building bomb proof vault to store our gold in the primary bank in Capital.

Run news stories on the attacks on the welfare of the people. Show the injured personnel and crying widows.

Have our generals come up with an immediate plan to take out the rebels. Is it possible to take all sites at once? How is the readiness levels of our fledging airforce, will they be up to providing support?

Tribals: We wouldn't expect them to be. They will get a fair wage, just like everyone else. Good to see we can resolve the problem without violence.

Rebels: American weaponry doesn't necessarily mean American backing, but perhaps we can afford to be paranoid.

Russia: I suppose that's as expected. We will acquiesce, for now.

    Vault: Do it.

Intel: Investigate further. Plan to take these out as well. We will have to do this completely, or else we'll be rooting guerrillas out of our jungle for years to come.

I'll put forward a mutual defense pact with Liberia again.

Put more money into the soccer program, keep holding tryouts. We wanna win!

    Take our intelligence agent's recommendations.

I would've tried to reason with Russia about the whole oil thing, but it's too suspicious that the rebels have American weaponry AND a jet flew in to give it to them. I say we offer it to the EU instead of the US.

Start building a presidential estate that would be suitable for hosting a African Union meeting, it'd be a nice first impression if we offered to host the next meeting in our capital.

-Russia says many EU nations are NATO, and not to sell to them either until this war is resolved...

-Your presidential estate has been refurbished! Congratulations on a lovely home Mr. President.

-Soccer team is doing their best still, and will be ready for the games in a few months.

-Rebels attack the gold mine again. Two dead to rebels.

-Liberia does not wish to make any alliances right now.

-More oil has been discovered inland! Russia is offering to help us build wells there, we can operate them, same oil deal stays in place however.

-Rebel attack on refinery! Failed, PMC intercepted their assault just before it began, thanks to KGB Guy's intelligent ZIA agents.

-WORLD NEWS! US Ground forces invade Iran. Iranian ground forces invade Iraq and A'Stan to push US forces from there. Arabia enters the war on NATO's side.

This isn't good at all, we want native workers getting those jobs and job experience. It seems like taking the rebel base would be the perfect opportunity to try and adapt new tactics instead of bombing them from the air and then sending in the infantry to mop them up. What happens if we engage in a larger, more disciplined, better military with a larger air force?

Perhaps instead of going the western route, we develop our own way of engaging enemy forces that does not rely on a preponderance of power?

The rebels could be a good field test for it. And besides, even if we mess up badly, they have very little support in the populace and without US support sounds like they are on their last legs.

I'm 100% for immediate action against the rebel base. Send in infantry with mortars, first shell the base, then do a recon with one of the lighter planes to check if the AA systems are down. If they're down, we launch an attack with planes taking out key positions while the infantry advances from all possible sides. If they're not down, just skip the planes and accept the fact that there'll be casualties.

Here's the tactic that I think could work with minimal air support.

We have small man teams surround the base, roughly 100 men in size, maybe more maybe less before engagement takes place (dependant on the size of the rebel base). 4 teams surround the base with supporting teams. One team attacks, and when they encounter resistance they pull back baiting the rebel forces into following them into the forest where supporting teams surround and destroy the forces. Another teams begin to engage once the rebel counter-attack gets encircled.

The rebel command might get wise the second time it happens, but hopefully the confusion will mitigate any adequate response. If the rebel command gets wise, infantry mortars could be used to shell the compound with white phosphorous and the other teams begin to engage, using hit and run tactics whenever significant force is brought to bear against one team. Once this continually occurs, they could mass in their rear to expect a next attack, that's when one or two teams with a large amount of supporting teams attack from one direction.

We use planes to asses the situation on the ground, further perfect this method of attack, and destroy any rebels that try to flee.

Ahhh, that's an old Roman tactic. They used it to devestate the Gaulic forces.

They would arrange their forces in a wedge formation, and as the enemy attacked the center they would retreat, slowly, until the forces were funneled into a 'V' shape, with enemies on both flanks. Then they'd just cut them down.
    >> Anonymous 01/26/12(Thu)23:53 No.17691123
how are our logistics, are we organized enough to not fuck our selves over with misplace mortar fire and troops going in at the wrong time?

    >>17691089
We'd be taking losses with each feint, and we don't know enemy dispositions or armament.
If they have mortars of their own, your plan will get our forces killed in short order.
    >> Anonymous 01/26/12(Thu)23:58 No.17691181
    >>17691121

the old roman tactic maintains consistent engagement on the flanks. What I am advocating is surprise attacks on the flanks once force is brought to bear on an original attack, with forces retreating from engagement once rebel response becomes adequate and having other forces attack the flanks or rear.

Pretty soon the enemy would get wise to this really quick and mass in the rear or flanks once attacked in the front, that's when you hammer their front with everything you have while holding in their rear.
    >> Anonymous 01/26/12(Thu)23:58 No.17691182
The reb scum will pull out of their base if they see us coming, probably. Sortie infantry along their most likely line of retreat and move our armor assets in to shell the base with mortars. Careful with air assets, we don't wanna lose our expensive Soviet jets to cheap Soviet missiles.
    >> Anonymous 01/27/12(Fri)00:02 No.17691233
    >>17691166

The consistent feints would confuse their firing solutions when attacked. Like I said, the feints retreat when they engage resistance adequate enough to check them or they feel it is getting to heavy.

Granted, there will be soldiers lost. I know this, it'll suck. The experience of fighting this way will translate well for our forces, and will not rely on an air force to do the heavy lifting in engagements.

An opening salvo of white phosphorous could do the trick in further confusing their mortar fire.
    >> Anonymous 01/27/12(Fri)00:04 No.17691256
    >>17691233
So, the opening salvo of white phosphorus is a great idea, could very well send the camp into disarray. Now, what if this forward base is rather small and our forces meet little resistance amongst all the confusion? Just have them clean them up and try again later at a larger base?
    >> Anonymous 01/27/12(Fri)00:07 No.17691294
    >>17691256

Sure. If the tactic works really well, the troops get experience fighting this way and we get combat veterans.

Then we could do the same thing at the main base.

    >>17691233
This might work on a bunch of rabble, but we don't know how disciplined this rebel group is.
They've had a year to train and probably set up pre-determined firing solutions for the areas surrounding their bases.

For a few months, any forces we sent into the jungles disappeared, without a single survivor coming back.
I think these rebels are disciplined and organized enough that your tactic will be ineffective.

I wish to support this military action, this is a good opportunity to seize land and future resources. We didn't get all this military hardware for nothing.
However, we are dealing with a rebel problem at the moment, but sending in 1000, or even the proposed 2000, may overwhelm them enough, at least to push them back.
Regardless, we need our military to step it up. We have resources, and it will solidify our position as a country not to be pushed around.

We need to stamp out not just the rebels in Tropicstan, but also their forward base and their main base.

True. This situation is getting out hand quickly, and they are clearly well equipped. I say we invest our new and improved army. Increase as many soldiers as we can spare (while still guarding the ivory coast border, and other important assets) Dedicate more air support, attack and press hard on multiple fronts (tropicgrad, supply lines/dumps, forward bases of operation), weed out these rebels, and constantly harass them around the clock.
We cant progress as long as the rebel problem remains, and it is taking our attention away from other matters of importance.

    FEB. 2015 - STATE REPORT
    ------------------------------------------

-Russia has agreed to send 10 BM-21s to you, and will wait until a more convenient time...but they insist as soon as possible. BM-21s are available this turn. As Russia Air-force has a direct tie here and receiving is less than a month's time.

-AU says that Liberia is doing Ivory Coast a favor by trying to calm the fighting through the same thing the UN was doing. Ivory Coast re-assures the AU too, that they are simply acting where the UN has failed to do so.

-USN ship has left port, no reports of suspicious activity.

-Tropicgrad fighting has ended as soon as our troops arrived. Remaining forces are on the forest edge awaiting combat orders. Air is on stand-by. Russia has delivered some napalm to be used with our SU-25s if we wish.

-BBC team has returned safely, but will be planning another mission into the jungle as soon as it is safe to do so... they recommend not burning the jungle down if it can be helped. This monkey is rare. Very.

-Japan will be setting up soon.

    MARCH 2015 - STATE REPORT
    -----------------------------------------------

-IC did not request... Liberians just wanted to end the fighting. Apparently. However the AU approves for now.

-The Rebels have been hit hard, a massive mortar, rocket, and eventually, napalm attack wiped out their forward base... no further evidence of rebel presence is to be found.

-A local gang boss appeared in jail today. Beaten up and delivered in ropes. A black S drawn on his forehead with a marker... local populace praise this new vigilante. Police call him a nut case, as no heroes exist in reality... just a vigilante on the roam with an imagination.

-BBC will be going back into the jungles now that it is, as they see it, safe... escorts have been sent with them, assuming that those orders stood still.

-PMC has engaged more rebels further north, trying to flee the country it sees.

-Remains of the rebels show modern gear amongst them, US and European built weapons. This is nothing solid, but, it is what it is. Primary weapons available to the populace before our Israeli imports were African built soviet-era weapons like the AK-47 reproductions.

-No other events are on-going at this time.

-Russia still insists on a meeting...

--POSSIBLE last post..I may not post again until tomorrow. I might check in after showering though and do minor question answers.--

Just had a thought, We should start recruiting heavily from the tribal population, and really build up our Pathfinder Corps, all the while setting up a deep jungle guard post network, small camps of maybe 10 to 15 men. They would be outfitted with ATVs to get around the jungle. 5 man payrolls would be organized to work in shifts, and every post would be responsible for a few square miles of jungle. I think these would be relatively easy to set up and maintain, and would help root out remaining insurgents, guard our boarders, and ensure the Rebels dont come back in force

God no, we can't invite him to the palace. If anything, we have the police talk to him. It'd turn into a circus if we legitimize him like that. Just make sure the police know not to harm him if they see him, to take him in peacefully, inform him that there are no charges against him, THEN explain the "no one's above the law, bad example, etc." stuff to him.

Perhaps. But all attempts to speak directly with Superman (asking nicely and trying to arrest him) have all failed. We could announce that we are inviting him to the Presidential Residence to talk, but that also legitimizes him in the eyes of the public. Also there's no guarantee that he'll listen and come in to talk. He's not a real Superman after all.

    Before your flight out...

You have: Ordered the continued hunt of the rebels. The Super Man problem can wait... you've left the government in the hands of your trusted government officials.

KGB Guy informs you that the weapons originated from the US, and that these rebels may be CIA funded.

In Russia... you find yourself a part of a large meeting between Russia, its allies, and friendly nations such as yourself. The topic... the United States. The Russian Government believes that the US and EU have cut their own oil supply off in the effort of attacking Iran. In defense of Iran however, Russia is planning to move in full force, hoping the United States will back off. They plan to announce this today, and do it civil, legal, and direct. With no intention to fight, simply scare off US forces with their presence.

All allies and friendly nations have been asked to be prepared for the worse case scenario, and Russia would prefer everyone's continued support of their government in these hard times.

After meeting, you are pulled aside... the Russians still want a base in your nation, they would be willing to pay you a VERY large sum of money to set up in the mountains, north of your gold, that open jungle valley between the mountains. They could help you fully modernize if you were to do this, and you wouldn't need to become an open Russian Ally - until you were prepared for such a statement.

As we expected. Mention this to our Russian allies during the meeting, and how the West seems to seek to destabilise our fledgling nation

    >Russian Statement
Agree that something must be done, and if this is what they choose so be it. Support them publicly and denounce the American actions as hastey and infringing on international law.

    >Russian Base
Politely but firmly decline. If the situation takes a turn for the worse we don;t want to become the target of an American "liberation" or worse, nuclear exchange. Re-state however, that we will publicly support them in their defense of Iran, even going so far as to supply them with men and armoured units if necessary.

Open a secret dialogue with the CIA, through a business man from my home country with the American Foreign Area Army officer of a nearby country. "Russia wants to help me with this, but they're scientific expertise is limited... they want to build a base in my country. I am very interested in the offer. The only thing that would dissuade me is 500 million dollars in pharmaceuticals for my people, a permanent USAID office with 200 million dollars of projects annually, and a permanent mission from the US dept of agriculture to reclaim 100 miles of desert into useful land. I will allow a US Special Operations team in my country to hunt down Al-Qaeda elements in my neighbors. As well as technical expertise to improve and expand my electrical powergrid to reach almost all of my communities, reliably."

Civil meaning they are not invading Iran, they are just showing up in force, ready to fight if need be.

Legal meaning they publicly declare war.

These actions have been done in the past, its an intimidation move. Like the US Blockade of Cuba during the missile crisis.

We already allow a Russian airbase in our country.
We've already painted a big huge target on ourselves.

    Counter-offer:
We will construct a Zanzi Army base in that location. It will be a Zanzi base.
Russia will be allowed to move forces through it, and station forces there.
The base remains a Zanzi Army base, and allows for the Russians to appear and disappear from it as needed, giving them more flexibility and us more plausible deniability.

-Ex-KGB Guy's buddy shows up! He asks how his old friend is doing in your country, and wants to know if he could help in anyway. He is actually currently IN the KGB right now, unlike your man.

-United Aircraft Corporation, producer of Russian Aircraft, would like to know if you would be interested in building parts for them. You would get a manufacturers license to produce older MiG and Sukhoi products, at your own expense. (I thought this was un-russian, until I found an article saying they have started outsourcing their production of arms, and importing NATO/other nation's arms... feels weird man.)

does anyone else find this KGB guy and the heavy influence by Russia a little suspicious? for all we know they bought up US/EU weapons and supplied them to the rebels. maybe the rebels were even hired by the Russians.

the joint ventures with the Russians have been fantastic, but I'm starting to see us to be an armed puppet state aligned against the West. at the very least, we should focus more on the ZIA than KGB guy, and try to open up diplomatically with the West, maybe get some trade deals.

    JUNE 2015 - STATE REPORT
    -------------------------------------------

-Nanotech & NeoTekz feeler sent out. NeoTekz does need an investor, and a safe test bed. Nanites could seriously fuck up the world if they were missappropriated... we do have the gold mine, but also, some other abandoned caverns and deep mines from the last administration. Setting up there...and as you, dear leader, have surmised, nanites could be profitable... NeoTek says they can build the appropriate facilities, but simply need investment and a location to do it.

-Aid Cure, see above... that is our only current viable directive. That, or see what the Russians wished to build in the lab if we gave them free reign.

-Spies in Liberia finds some minor issues with humanitarian conditions...but more concerning is the presence of US Special Operations forces working with the Liberian troops.

-RT has done their report, oil sales have increased as more have become aware of your exports.

-Health news! Your doctors and medical professionals have trained enough medicine students that they can begin going out into your populace and help keep people healthy. Life expectancy in your nation is now 50 years for the average male.

-Crops - A drought in the north has hit... and water supplies are becoming tight for your northern farmers. Also increased chance of wild fires.

-Superman! Superman has shown up again, this time cleaning graffiti off the walls a town over...

-US Govt acknowledges your reluctance to support Iran and thanks you for your consideration.

    (Pic is real.)

Survey the abandoned caverns and deep mines. Provide NeoTekz with the survey results, have them choose the cavern that suits them. Invest in them and provide labor to construct labs as needed.

    >Russian labs
No, this is going to be our project alone.

    >US SOCOM in Liberia
Stay on guard, but as long as they stay on their side of the border we legally can't do anything.

    >Health
Continue investment, and see if we now have enough professionals to open a medical school

    >Crops
Accelerate the irrigation system project, and look into the building of a desalination plant near Port Liberty and powered by the thorium reactor. This will provide us with water that we can ship up north.
Also, solicite designs internationally for a windtrap system that will condense atmospheric moisture to be captured and used.

We can use one of the older mine shafts as a research facility for nanites. In addition, ask company, Neotekz or whatever, if they would hire our newly educated health professionals. This would keep the technology partway indigenous, and give some high level jobs to our own people. In addition nanites + human body...African JC Denton, anyone?

I wouldn't say its suspicious in the slightest. Its obvious Russia wants us as a puppet state against the West, true, but they're not simply gifting us intel assets, they're offering to help us train our own.

I don;t understand why they'd fund the rebels that are acting against us - perhaps to encourage us to buy more armaments from them? We were doing that anyway though, so that seems a bit counter productive to me.

Besides, we *need* the backing of a superpower. We don;t have the technlogy or resources yet to become truly self sufficient - starting oil refinaries by ourself would've taken years.

Hey guys, I don't participate in this quest (yet) but I had an idea:

As a developing african country, we have an unique position to develop it towards efficient path (or Green, if you will). There is no heavily developed infrastructure that will need massive overhaul to become more green oriented country like in developed countries. We can already start implementing such things as: vertical/city gardens, small windmill and solar panels, making roads friendly to bike-use, making efficient public transport, etc etc.
Heck, we might not even need to pay for all this. We could petition every organization we can get to: UN, environmental orgs, technology developers who need testbeds, etc.
We will need educate people of course (like how to properly maintain a garden in a city) but I bet those wester liberal bleeding hearts will FIGHT each other just to get the chance to help "poor african people"

That way we could cut down costs on energy consumption drastically, have lesser impact on environment, happier population (who all have cheap electricity and fresh vegetables that they grow themselves)

Dose it seem more likely that they are going to install a puppet, or is Liberia going to annex IC? Also, Grand Master Flash, what kind of spy network to we have in Ghana and Burkina?

    Fuck that.

We've already got a thorium reactor program going with the help of India.
We are going to start up desalination plants powered by thorium reactors, sending water down irrigation canals to the north and the farms located there.

We are going to this by buying technologies and expertise with money that WE have EARNED by selling goods and services.
We are here to prove that we don't need the fucking liberal bleeding hearts, that it is through African determination and will that we will make Africa prosperous.

Keep your handouts to yourselves. We work for a living.

-Nanotech investments underway. NTz has found a cave they like and are setting up shop. They have agreed to free products early on, and discounts later for being an investing nation.

-India will set up more reactors for us.

-Irrigation project is underway. A desalination plant could be built, India has that tech, as does Saudi Arabia (US Ally.)

-Wind Farming is possible, but expensive start. Still cheaper than more reactors, but more wind mills are needed for more power.

by 2014 5mW wind turbine units should be readily available. I know this looks like a big discrepancy, but these wind turbines are generally set up in bunches. Also take into consideration that If even 1 of our Reactors goes down, its game over. Realistically our entire country is a radioactive wasteland for the next 10,000 years or more.

    Also,

I think we should retrofit the Rebel jungle base into our own forward military base. That way, there is less chance that rebels will start their guerrilla war from the jungles again.

seconded. I was wondering this myself. but I think OP said that unless he says something has gone wrong, things unstated are going well.

    >Realistically our entire country is a radioactive wasteland for the next 10,000 years or more.
That's not how thorium reactors work.
They can't go super-critical, and even staying critical requires constant feeding and monitoring.

    NOW!

    AUGUST 2015 - STATE REPORT
    ----------------------------------------------

-Superman has been told about the laws, then, let loose by accident...a comment made 'off mic' and leaked, stating our admiration of him as a national hero -though that he should abide by the laws and not be a vigilante, for his own safety.

-India offers desalination and wind farm equipment both, in exchange for oil.

-Your people are so happy with the ice-cream, they have spontaneously declared it Ice-cream Day! People have swarmed the ice-cream shops and skipped out on work. Only businesses open are our ice-cream businesses.

-Intelligence informs us that the ice-cream is good.

-Our Engineers working with the Russians say the ice-cream is good.

-Our Border Patrol reports that ice-cream is good.

-Ghana citizens have come for a visit for ice-cream. It is good.

-World News! North Korea's leader has been assassinated! South Korea on full alert. North Korea on full alert.

-Oil news! Zanzian Oil sales on the rise!

Inform citizens that National Holidays must be approved by the Interior Ministry and begin work on a less detrimental Ice Cream Day in the future.

    >India offers desalination for oil
Take them up on it. Be sure to haggle furiously and eventually, "reluctantly" concede and offer them a good deal, for being "favoured customers". Time to begin milking the oil crisis

you magnificent bastard, well done yet again Grand Leader

    >indian deal
accept the trade, both nations can profit from it even though we are getting the better half. thats they way it should be anyway.

    >superman
what has been the public response to superman?

    >icecream day
accept icecream day with great enthusiasm. make a statement saying that the best ice cream shop in the capitol will be visted by the President next icecream day. anytime the president hosts guests, that icecream parlor will be providing the refreshments.
not sure if we should let the people vote on it or not, /tg/'s call

India deal sounds good. clearly we have a hidden gem in our ice cream industry. we should increase production/exposure to export around the world.

I love this, and it fits so well with what other nations get up to. Have you seen some of the crazy shit that world leaders get/recieve as gifts? Though, IIRC, the White House incinerates any consumable gifts (as, probably, do most nations). Ah well. Still, it'd be rude not to send some at least....

We should look into starting an advertising campaign in more educated country's that will lure well educated teachers and professionals to our country. We desperately need to improve our education system if we are to escape the cycle of African poverty.

    >India
Send one of our top negotiating teams to India. Get desalination plants for our irrigation project and some pilot wind farms for outlying areas.

    >ice cream day
Make it a national holiday. Send samples of our ice cream to India, Japan, Russia, China, and to members of the AU. Also to the executives of companies we have close relationships with.
