Impulse walked into the ruins, pulling down the hood that was attached to the robe she'd taken from Ezekiel."May I have my robe back?" Zeke asked."No." She responded, not even looking at him."I had expected you to have had already come and left by now." She said, sauntering up to the statue. "But I did notice the airship had been modified. You put some Galadriel's Light on it? Clever."
>>19492282"Hello, why are you here?"
"Hello." You say, curtsying. "Why are you here?""Just to tear out someone's heart." She said. "And scorn someone else's. Watch."She spread her arms. "Keledanis. Show me your heart."The statue started to tremble. . and then cracked."Just to make sure, you already found the secret, right? The family tree? Because if not, then I guess you're shit out of luck."
>>19492373"Yeah, we did.""What do you its heart for? Who's heart is it anyway?"
"Yes, we did." You say."Good." She said."What do you need it's heart for? Who's heart is it, anyway?""It's not really a heart." She said. "That's just. . metaphor."You feel a pulse of magic come from the statue, and a strange, glimmering sphere burst from the statue's torso. It crumbled, and fell apart, orichalum shards littering the ground.Within the core of the statue, levitating, was a small, simple crystal, but it wasn't glimmering a color that existed in this world. It was another Uncolor, a color you'd only seen twice before."This." She said, with a wink. "Was Eidolon's pride and joy. The statue, I mean. He was quite obsessed with that girl, and once upon a time, they fell in love. She had a kid, died, and he left the kid with someone else. . and awoke his power, in his grief."
>>19492435"His power? Not a wizardly power, I assume?"
>>19492435"Oh.... Quite sad.""What is that crystal?"
"Oh. . Quite sad. What is that crystal?""It was. .a toy, at first. A crystal that seemingly made it's own magic. But slowly, so slowly it wasn't of use. At the time." She said, then shrugged."His power? Not a wizardly power, I assume?"She gave you a sly look. "What do you know of Talents?"
>>19492497"Oh, I know them. The orcs have them, each one a different.""So what was his Talent?"
>>19492497Move slowly towards her and the magic. It would be practical to be close enough to use our signature spell "Control Magic" to solve the situation.
>>19492536What? Why?>>19492497Ask her what she needs the crystal for
"Oh, I know them. The orcs have them, each one a different talent. So what was his?""Whatever the orcs told you, they were wrong." She said, and grabbed the crystal. "Talents aren't. . they aren't anything to do with magic power. They're to do with blood. Bloodlines, lines of lineage, hereditary power. Blood always tells. Why is it you think that royalty is usually hereditary? Because the ones with power are the ones who rule.""All of you here. . " She shrugged, pointed at you, then the twins, then Grayson, then Ell. "You each have the noblest of lineages. I'm not quite sure if it's coincidence or something more, but for some reason, you're all in one spot.""What do you need the crystal for?" You ask."Oh, I have my own plans." She said.
>>19492536Nope.
>>19492586Where have we seen that colour before?
>>19492603>You've only seen 'uncolors' when you've seen portals to other worlds.
>>19492586"I don't suppose you'd feel like sharing at all?"
>>19492586"What about Fellwind and thatotherguy?"
>>19492586"So what Talent did he have and does that mean Ell should have it too?"
"I don't suppose you'd feel like sharing at all?""Nope." She said."And. .what about Fellwind and Lewin?""Lewin has his eyes, and Fellwind has something. . angry." She said, then shrugged. "Those are powerful talents, but nowhere near yours.""What Talent did Eidolon have, and does that mean Ell should have it too?""Well. . theoretically." She said. "I'd need his blood to make sure. . But don't worry- if he has it, you'll know what it is when it awakens."
>>19492669"How can it be awakened?"
"How can it be awakened?""If he's like Eidolon. . Grief. Or some strong emotion. Even when it's awakened, talents of a certain caliber isn't as easy as just snapping your fingers.""You've got an art for explaining just enough to make me curious, and then refusing to elaborate." Ell said, frowning.Impulse gave a girlish titter, and tilted her head to the side. "Indeed. Mayhaps that's my talent." She said. "Now, I've got to go. Thanks for your heart, Keledanis." She said, turning her head back to the rubble of the statue.
>>19492766Maybe we can use our sorcery to awaken it?
rolled 17 = 17>>19492835I bet we could...Rolling to try.
>>19492835Yes, let's torture him! Wrack his body with pain! Give him illusions of everyone he knows dying! Muahahahaha!Or we could try using the control magic thing I guess. If you want to be boring.
>>19492835Hell no, we are not meddling with this. If Ell is going to harness his talent, he's going to develop it NATURALLY.And crazy supermagic doom crystal, eesh. Veritable centuries, maybe even millenia of accumulated magic...
rolled 80 = 80>>19492887No, not like that.Just jump-starting the talent without the need for any emotions or whatever.>>19492872let me help you with that.Although we must NOT do this without his consent!
rolled 27 = 27>>19492902I agree, if we're going to do this we need to ask first!
>>19492890>This door is definitely not draconian. It looks new. . ish. Sometime in the past five centuriesYup, it's been charging for ~500 years. That could make quite a boom.
"One last thing." Impulse says, whirling around. "No matter what the wizards say, or the elves, or even the kalak. . Magic is not a science. It is not anything grounded in reality. The elves can manipulate it, but they only use its weakest parts. Nothing is ever set in stone."She grinned, and then walked backward out of the ruins."Ell. . Can I try to help you?" You ask, holding out your hand."With what?""To try to awaken your talent." You say.". . I'll need to think about it." He says.
>>19492974"Okay. I'm not sure if I'll be successful though."We're done here, right?
"Okay. I'm not sure if it'll be successful, though." You say, and turn to Raziel. "Is the skull moved?""Yeah." She said."Then we should be done here."The six of you come all the way back to the ship, where Lewin is lounging back on a chair, bow at his side. You see some kind of small speck in the sky, with some kind of flapping wings."It's a gryphon." Lewin said, shielding his eyes from the sun. "That impulse girl is riding it."
>>19493097"A gryphon?"
"A gryphon?""Big winged. . bird lion thing." He said. "They like the mountains. Smaller than a wyvern, but larger than a horse. She showed up a few minutes ago on it, waved at me, and went into the ruins."
>>19493136Hmmmm, we could make our own gryphon. Just attach some wings to Grayson. That would be awesome.
>>19493136"Never heard of them."Anyway, lets continue our journey.>>19493159No.
"Never heard of them." You say, and examine the massive, blackened dragon skull on the ship- It's almost more malicious-seeming out here in the sunlight than it was down in the ruins."Let's continue our journey." You say, and Ell nods. He examines the path you scribbled out, and you re-attune the compass. The Jormungandr lifts off again, and starts traveling to the lizardman lands.
rolled 9 = 9>>19493191Lets use this time to craft/improve our cannons.
rolled 55 = 55>>19493191Improve camouflage for the ship. We already have magic evasion, lets either enhance that or start creating proper camouflage.
I'll second the cannons over the camo if we have to choose only one.
What would be good would be the ability to land on land. That's more a carpentry job than a magic job though.
You spend some time pacing, before walking up on Ell, who is knelt down and carving the long rods you had materialized."I'll help." You say, and close your eyes. You focus. . and reach out with your magic, trying to infuse your power into the arcane rods. The spell unravels while you try, and, once again, you just end up wasting your energy for nothing."Did it work?" Ell asks, but then sees your frown. "Don't worry about it, Ishelda. This is my job, and it's repetitive enough that I can. . think."
rolled 42 = 42>>19493288>"Did it work?" Ell asks, but then sees your frown. "Don't worry about it, Ishelda. This is my job, and it's repetitive enough that I can. . think.""Oh, sometimes my magic doesn't work. I guess it the limitation of my talent.""Well, if it helps you to think, then I'll leave you to your thoughts"Do this instead >>19493250Elves can't take offense to our flowers if they can't see us!
rolled 67 = 67>>19493304damn
rolled 65 = 65GUYS I HAVE IDEAD So we have flying ship with dragon skull on it yes? what about that we cast spell that fuse ship with skull in humanoid form when we will need this?
"Well, I suppose that magic isn't a solution for /everything/."
"Oh, sometimes my magic doesn't work." You say. "I guess it is the limitation of my talent.""Well, Impulse did say that using 'talents of a certain caliber isn't as easy as just snapping your fingers'." Ell said."Well, if it helps you to think, then I'll leave you to your thoughts." You say, and continue walking. You have a feeling that. . this is the right place. You stop, and then feel the boards below you. You feel for the magic that creates the airship's shield, and you grip it tightly in your hands. You close your eyes, and bring forth your own magic, feeding it into the shield. . .There's a flash of light, and the airship shakes. Your muscles start aching as you feel the airship take your spell and. . fuse with it, making the spell it's own."There's some kind of fog." Lewin said, looking out at the airship's surroundings. "I can see through it fine, but it's hindering visibility a bit. We don't seem to have a reflection in the water, though."
>>19493353Okay bro, I'm gonna need you to calm the fuck down, take a few deep breaths, and try to type that up again. Because it made NO goddamn sense.
>>19493381"Yeah, I figured it might be bad if an elven airship noticed us carrying their flowers. Now we're effectively invisible!"
>>19493381"Good.Now no one can see us coming!"Rest and slowly glean magic from the flowers making sure to not take more than it needs to power the ship indefinitely.
rolled 20 = 20>>19493381We should terrify the shit out of some lizardmen by appearing like, twenty feet above them out of nowhere.
>>19493381"Don't worry, it's just normal everyday crazy sorcery. I think I made the ship invisible or something."When did we put the flowers on the ship? Impulse said we did but I don't remember it and I thought we had to take the sails down first. Have we done the troll?
rolled 86 = 86>>19493405It's probably better to make in an on/off enchantment
>>19493416>The spectral ogre crew did it; but the flowers aren't blooming, and so they don't generate power yet."Good." You say. "Now no one can see us coming."While you're there, you take the dregs of the spell. .and shove it into the control crystal; it takes a bit more energy, and you start to have a bit of trouble breathing, but you calm down and rest for a bit."We're there." Raziel said, looking at the compass- it's pointing straight down. "Have you met Vithriel?" She asked."Yeah, we were there last time. You drank tea with us." Ezekiel said, standing on the mast. His arms were spread, and he had small swirling spells in his palms.". . did I?""You were drunk. Or sleepwalking. Or drugged. Whatever that swamp brew did to you."". . Oh." She said, covering her beak with her talons. "Let's go, then."
>>19493459>but the flowers aren't blooming, and so they don't generate power yet.Oh, we should use our power to speed up their growth when we recover our mana
>>19493496Actually, I feel like this is probably one of the few things we shouldn't mess with magically speaking. Just let them grow naturally.
>>19493496Well we're going back through the weave after the lizardmen so we can grab as much power as we need to grow them and do the troll then.
Six lizardmen rush through the underbrush, powerful digitigrade legs propelling themselves forward as you disembark from the airship."Visitors!" One of the lizardmen say- you remember this one from last time you'd visited. " It is fortunate you arrived at this time. Mother Vithriel is in trouble! Please, please help us."It kneels, and bows it's head deeply toward you. "Please help us and the mother."
rolled 60 = 60>>19493551Happily! What is the situation?
>>19493551"Of course. Please tell us what's happening on the way to her."
>>19493551"What happened?"Quickly move to help her
"Happily." You say. "What is the situation?""The mothers brought forth a council, to vote for war." The lizardman said, jogging. "An argument came up, and now they are doing a trial by combat. Mother Vithriel is weak and injured, and has few allies; if we take you there, even as small as you are, you can help where we cannot."
>>19493608"How can I help?"Say this while moving.
"How can I help?""By custom, males cannot interrupt a trial by combat. But you two," The lizardman said, thrusting the haft of his glaive at you and Raziel, "Can enter. I recall hearing that you are each powerful at magic. If you assist Vithriel. . she may survive."
>>19493664Alright, lets go then!....How did he know that Raziel is a female? You can't really tell by appearance, right?
>>19493664"What's Vithriel fighting for?"
>>19493664I suggest we make full use of our signature spells if we enter combat with casters. Use the elementals to get close to the caster so we can automatically take control of their magic through physical contact.
You descend down the tunnel, hurrying as quickly as possible, with lizardmen on each side."What is Vithriel fighting for?""I do not know." The lizardman said. When you finally get down into the damp, vined temple, you hear loud splashes and crashing. Surrounding the deep pool are. . hundreds, and hundreds of lizardmen, watching something in the center, in perfect, reverent silence."Vithriel, you've gone too far!" One of the massive lizardmen 'mothers' cried, swinging her halberd down at Vithriel; The shapeshifted kalak raises her own halberd up, barely in time to parry the blow. Surrounding the two fighting mothers were even more of the legless females, silent in their own way, some mumbling to one another, having some kind of debate even here- but it's too quiet for you to hear the words.
rolled 43 = 43Looks like while she looks like a lizard matron she lacks the sheer strength to it... lets give her that strength.
rolled 76 = 76>>19493779Jump down and freeze the other mothers in place!
>>19493701Raziel's been here before. Presumably Vithriel informed them she is female, or how to identify female Kalak.
>>19493779Call up bunch of earth elementals and hold them off while we learn of the situation here.
>>19493817This
rolled 77 = 77>>19493802I agree with this guy.
rolled 39 = 39>>19493817i think we should only use the elementals on the one activly fighting. dont want to get the otherse involved without cause
>>19493858Yeah, of course. I thought that was already implied.
>>19493802I don't want to fight for a cause before we know what that cause is. If we make her win and then it turns out that means the lizardmen have to try and conquer humanity or something that's shit.
"Oh, stop being such a cunt, Kalach'cha." Vithriel responded, and shoved the larger female off of her."Two more arrive!" Your companion lizardman says.Everything freezes. . and you see every lizardman, male and female, suddenly turn their heads and stare at you and Raziel- you can feel them judging you."Oh? Then. . Let us fight." the largest mother there; Kalach'cha, you presume, says. She looms toward you, halberd in hand. . So you create earth elementals, turning the temple's mud and stone into arms, and urge them to wrap around her arms. Raziel brings up her staff, and white, ghostly light shoots out of it, slamming into the lizardman's snout. She snarls, and her head arcs back, recoiling from the light.Something slams into the largest mother's back- a halberd, shoved through her torso. She squeals, loudly- Vithriel's standing there, behind her, the shaft of the weapon still in her hands."Good thing you two showed up, kids." She said, and reared up, calling out in a booming voice. "Kalach has been defeated."A full forth of the lizardmen surrounding, fall to their knees, weeping.
>>19493878I find myself doubtful that's what VIthriel is fighting for. It didn't seem she was in support of such extremes when we visited her previously.
>>19493894"What... did we just get involved in?"
>>19493894Patch Kalach up. Vithriel got his/her will and this might net us some goodwill with the other lizardmen.
>>19493922Uhm, maybe we should ASK first. Reviving her might void the previous fight and cause them to have to fight again.
>>19493906It could be anything, and we met her for like 5 minutes, we don't really know her.
You reach forward to heal the wounded matron, hand raised-But one of the mothers grab your wrist."No, outsider. She has lost. Her survival is the victor's choice, not yours."The wounded matron coughs, and blood spews from her mouth."Now." Vithriel says. "Carry her away, and patch her wounds."The weeping lizardmen look up, as if in surprise, and then dive into the water, dragging the wounded matron away."A bold choice." The mother grabbing your wrist says.
>>19493982What's going on?
>>19493982Can we check with the signature spell if she has magic abilities?
>>19493982Ask her what the fought about.
rolled 73 = 73>>19493982hello vith, so what did we just help you win?
>>19494031Who? Vithriel?Of course she, or rather 'he' has them. He's a Kalak, remember?>>19493982Ask her what happened.
You feel for magic, touching the mother- but you hardly sense anything. A talent, perhaps still slumbering, but she isn't a spellcaster."Bring the outsiders to me. I need to speak to them privately." Vithriel said, and slithered into a different room."What's going on?" You ask."We'll have her tell us." Raziel says, and your companion lizardman leads you to the room Vithriel had gone. It's small, and quite far away- you think you won't be able to be overheard from there."It's a damn good thing you showed up." Vithriel said, panting."So, what did we just help you win?" You ask.She hesitated for a moment."The lizardman empire is coming back." She said. ". . In retrospect, saying it that way was probably a little melodramatic."
rolled 25 = 25>>19494072making an armed grab for land?whose the receiving end?

>>19494072"Explain.""And why were you fighting?"
>>19494072I see, some more details would be appreciated.
>>19494072What do you want an empire for?
"Explain." You say."Well. . right now, the lizardmen are getting. . very high in number. Overpopulating, more and more spellcasters are springing up. We're generally getting more powerful- more of a real force. Kalach wanted us to go make a grab for the elven lands. I want us to stay here and bolster our own infrastructure."
rolled 16 = 16>>19494132If I told you I have a possible solution for that would you be interested?...
>>19494132"I'd agree with you on that point, and not just because I enjoy the company of elves."
>>19494132"Well, since you have apparently won, there wont be any land-grab, right?">>19494140What solution do you have in mind?
>>19494132Well done! With a proper infrastructure i am sure the lizardmen will prosper.
"Well, since you have apparently won, there won't be any land-grab, right?""Not exactly." She said. "Kalach is still alive, which means she could be an issue later. But I couldn't let her die, because I promised some of the other mothers that I would let her live. That's why they didn't gang up on me. It was. . really, really hard for me to boil things down to a one-on-one fight."
rolled 61 = 61>>19494147>>19494140we have an airship that needs no weave.there is a supposedly uninhabited continent that we can access very quickly.I wonder what the lizard mothers would trade for the transport of settlers...

They know me well enough to think I have aces up my sleeve, but they also know that I'd never show *all* of my aces. If you showed up like that, they'll wonder who else will show up next time. Gives me more pull, politically."
>>19494217That's wonderful, I'm happy for you. Could you set up some tea please, and Raziel, for some reason, wants to bring some swamp brew with her. I don't really understand her tastes.
>>19494217So the lizardmen have already filled up pretty much all the good land south of that river?
rolled 45 = 45>>19494217"Oh, that's good."Do we have any communication rings left? If not, lets conjure one."Take this. With it you can call us if you need our help. rolled 35 = 35>>19494242We probably have on left over. I hope

>>19494277Nah, if we can create a type of moss that does the same thing, they will probably let it slide.
"That's wonderful." You say. "I'm happy for you."You take out a simple, unenchanted wooden ring, and impress the communication spell on it, then toss it to her. "Take this- with it, you can call us if you need our help." you say. "Just remember, we could be on the other side of the continent, or even the world when you call.""Got it." She said, putting it on."Could you set up some tea, please?" You ask."Certainly. and I assume Raziel is here for more swamp brew.""Indeed." Raziel says.

She asks. "The only place we can go is either north, with the elves, or south, to the hobgoblins. And neither of them like us much."
>>19494168Other continents might be populated by people too. How about we actually see for ourself how they are before giving promises?
rolled 84 = 84>>19494370we can discuss it over some tea."I might have some things to do before we get to that like dropping off a person or two."
>>19494370Don't worry about it, I have voices in my head.
>>19494386Besides. We have only one ship. You can't transport massive amount of people with one ship only.
You close your eyes, and shake your head. "Nevermind." You say, suddenly tired- wasting your magic on the cannons, and then enchanting the Jormungandr with invisibility, and finally making the elementals. . it took a lot out of you, and the fatigue is only hitting you now."Are you okay?" Raziel asks."Don't worry about it." You say. "I was just thinking about the other continents- like to the east."". .That might be possible, but not probable." Vithriel says. "The other mothers will start screeching that we don't know what's over there, and we have lots of land right here, once we get the pointy-eared pests out, and then the rest of the mothers will start to agree, and then we'll end up killing the elves after all."
>>19494408No, but we could transport some colonists and supplies.Or one end of a portal.
rolled 41 = 41>>19494408if you would recall it is a cargo ship .and we can make a bunch of runs taking a short shunt off the weave to charge up every time until our flowers bloom. a little time off to trade goods to other groups, like the humans or the orcs and we can get quite a bit of funding, a short stop in the elven lands for some crystals we could easily buy another hull from the orcs or the elves for dedicated transport.run that business remotely and enjoy the profits
>>19494461Why not try to convince them to move south towards the hobgoblins but on a more peaceful manner? Hell, they could help assist with that wall in theory and any thing the lizardmen can produce and trade with them would probably be useful.
>>19494461Isn't that wonderful. I'd prefer there not to be a war, it's impolite and I happen to like some of the elves. Also I would hate for your people to try to fight on the weave, it would not be good for them. Please let me know when the mothers are planning on doing something rash. Have you tried diplomacy? I find so many international disputes can be solved through some conversation over tea.
>>19494461So how have you been? What was all the rush last time we were here?

"I'd prefer there not to be war." You say. "It's impolite, and I happen to like some of the elves. Please let me know when the mothers are planning on doing something rash.""I intend to." >>19496510>buddy, I tolerate him because I would do the same for certain people.>So you would murder somebody because of the actions of another person? Keep in mind that the actions of the second person were completely voluntary and in fact on his own volition.Do you even understand what the hell you are saying and how fucking wrong that is?
Don't give him back the sword, that douchenozzle isn't deserving of it.
>>19496430>>19496445>>19496455Well, he was the sole survivor of a bloody hobgoblin slavetaking raid that turned into a slaughter. He undoubtedly has some serious PTSD driving his occasional cold, violent overprotectiveness. And he doesn't want Lewin sharing that fate.
rolled 14 = 14>>19496544don't care, some people I support that much. and damn the consequences.
>>19496495I'm saying that what he did, even in context is exactly what was stated in >>19496430He threatened a 12 year old girl over someone who is perfectly capable of making his own goddamn decisions. He needs to be told in his face that he is being impolite, rude, irrational, and most of all, a dumb ass that needs to get over himself.
>>19496556Whoopedy-fucking do. Cry me a fucking river. He had a pleasure cruise compared to what happened to us.And how about talking things out with the man himself instead of threatening to kill a little girl and acting like a giant ass?
>>19496568Ah, I see. While you're correct and I agree with you, I do not think Ishelda should do this.Just... let them go and forget about them. They are really not that much worth of trouble like some players make them out to be.Certainly not for a reaction like this >>19496451
"What is *wrong* with you?" Lewin asks. "She's just a little girl, and you've done nothing but acted like she's some kind of. . of monster. Why the hate? Why, why the hate?""How do you know she isn't?" Fellwind asked. "She appears out of thin air, spews out some gobbledegook about 'not wanting violence', and then throws a fucking stream of flame at a troll.""You know her story, Rikar.""No." Fellwind says. "I know what she says is her story. Hell, she doesn't need a spellbook, or a bracer, or any of that shit. She's some kind of monster, and you know it. For all she says, she just uses us as pawns. If you want to stay here, be my guest. Take another fireball to the face, and then you might end up with more scars."
TIME FOR A MIND MELDGreat idea or greatest idea?
>>19496570this, exactly, it was alright when he kept it to himself and all that jazz and if he needed help or something, fine ask for it, don't throw a goddamned hissy fit at someone who should veritably be the only one that COULD be throwing a hissy fit. He may think he has grown up because of what he has been exposed to, but he acting like a damned child and I'm inclined to let him know that he is

rolled 70 = 70>>19496678>>19496680Hey, hey, I changed my mind.I was thinking with a mind of a 12 year old who is really pissed off, now she is just.......sad.
rolled 84 = 84>>19496598"I'm a monster, am I, Fellwind? That is why you've been so distrusting? Because I'm a sorcerer, not a wizard, something thoroughly alien? That is the root of all this strife? I have been hardly courteous to you and Lewin lately, that is for sure, and for that I am sorry. I have concerned myself too much with acquainting with my newer companions, than seeing to it that my old ones are not discontented or harmed. But when I said I did not want violence on my travels, I was not lying, I avoid it whenever possible. It is always the last resort. You threatened to kill me, Fellwind, were Lewin ever hurt, and I turned the other cheek. I never even told anyone. Does that sound like the actions of a monster?"And, in case he starts getting belligerent about the slaughter we dealt to the demons with the wrath elementals, show him with magic the end of our world. With this pretext."Do you know what the demons did, Fellwind? I cannot ever convey their monstrousness with mere words. So see, now, with your own eyes, why I lost myself against them. See the true monsters, the things that go bump in the night."
>>19496723>No one will ever call us a monster againAnd if they do, we can kill them with our massive inhuman army!
You drop the sword, and your vision goes blurry. It vaguely makes a ringing noise as the silk slips off of it and as the sword bounces along the floor, and the two in the room go silent, obviouslyHe thinks you're a monster. One of your first friends since you. . left your home, and he thinks you're a monster. You turn around, and run back to your cabin- Someone comes out of the room behind you, and says something, but you don't listen. You close and lock the door, hold the dire bear tight, and cry.>>End of thread 18>>My twitter is @futureexabyte>>And I'll stick around to answer questions
good point... changing my vote to crying in our room.>>19496731Too reasoned, too unemotional. If Fellwind approaches her in her room we should tell him what we are however. It's like the Orc's talents, like Lewin. We can do magic with no aid, no spellbook, no bracer... all we need is our imagination, stamina and luck.
>>19496731You went through the trouble to type all that but.... I don't think this is quite appropriate.>>19496757Exactly!

>>19496761I'm happy with this result. Either reason or emotion were cool by me, though I submitted a vote and post for reason.>>19496765>>19496778Perhaps it is not. Sometimes we do need to drop the hypercompetent wise-beyond-our-years rap and just act like the little girl we are, but when we DO regain our composure, I say we should pull that out.In addition, I don't think Fellwind is going to trust us. Ever. By acting like a little girl and falling to emotion we're a particularly manipulative monster. If we pulled out or later pull out that reasoned response he'll call us a monster again for our ridiculous un-childlike intelligence.
rolled 32 = 32>>19496821We never asked for this....
Hey you guys, doesn't Fellwind seem a bit... That Guy-ish?
>>19496874Yes because being suspicious of a 10-14 year old girl who can do magic in a way that goes against everything in the world and says she's from a world that's been destroyed and wants peace and then burns down monsters that would take dozens of soldiers to kill.
>>19496906>and wants peace and then burns down monsters that would take dozens of soldiers to kill. So? We saved many lives killing mindless and almost mindless monsters. And I don't think we said we want peace but unnecessary violence. Sometimes violence is inevitable
>>19496761How much more stamina do we have compared to the first thread?
>>19496983>You have a bit more than twice as much stamina.
>>19497016Cool.Hey, will those cannons that we made disappear?
we should leave the sword to him
>>19497039>Conjured items only disappear when they run out of energy- which, for objects as large as they are, the entire Jormungandr would need to be completely out of power for . . I suppose a year and a day, before the cannons disappear.
>>19497040No, he is not deserving of it. We should stick it into part of the ship and enchant it so only the worthy may draw it.
>>19497060What about clothes? How long will they exist?
>>19497066Fuck you, it's his sword.
>>19497069>Clothes, and other 'weaved' items like rope and such, won't last as long as a solid object, but they'll slowly disintegrate instead of completely vanishing. It will simply appear as if the clothing is being moth-eaten. They'll last a month without being 'recharged', but the only clothing you've conjured was Ezekiel's robe, which Impulse has right now, and she undoubtedly has the know-how to recharge it.
>>19497066>not deserving of itYou do remember that it IS his sword, right?
>>19497087>>19497092He looted it from a dead man, it's not really his.
>>19497107Doesn't make it less his.
>>19497040If he wants it, let him take it but we wont personally go and ask him to take it.
>>19497117This, it's as much his as if he had bought it
He gave it back to us. It's Ishelda's sword now.
>>19497117Doesn't make it more his, either.
>>19497091How long can our ship stay afloat on single full charge?Without the flowers, I mean.
>>19497152Actually it does
>He drew his sword, and it shined brightly, white sparks bursting out of it. >And then he threw it to your feet.>"It's yours." He said. "I'm going below deck- tell me when we're at Cerulean."Debate over.
>>19497175And I still say we don't give it back, he isn't deserving of it.
>>19497087>>19497092>>19497117It was the sword of a noble knight, not his own. Fellwind's probably plotting to kill us with that very sword. He is not acting particularly noble. I don't think we're going to be making any great effort to make him keep it at this point, nor are we likely to want to let him.I wonder if the sword is going to eventually just plain reject him? I mean, it's an artifact blade in its infancy, so it might have some consciousness capable of awakening. A consciousness that is not going to like Fellwind's continued pigheaded, angry, violent actions. Heck, what if we weaved the knight's soul into it without knowing? Lodsemagic alone doesn't an artifact make, there has to be another distinct spark, a metaphysical lynchpin to hold it all together. The sword must have SOMETHING special besides "it's magic" for it would not be nearly as dramatically significant or powerful otherwise.
>>19497190It's his, we made it for him.
I don't particularly care about the sword. If he wants it, let him keep it.If he doesn't, then I do not see any reason to try to convince him otherwise.
If you're all that worried, just give it to Lewin then. He at least hasn't been so hateful.
>>19497223That works too.
>>19497200Rightand then he gave it back. It's ours now.
OP, what about summoning stuff from other places instead of conjuring them? Like, summoning bunch of iron, then transforming it into steel and then transforming them into cannons/other shit.Would they disappear then? And which method is more energy intensive summoning iron or conjuring it?
>>19497277>summoning objects is teleportation- which is something that nobody can do without a major, major amount of either power or cleverness- Even Azariel, who is theoretically the most powerful spellcaster you know, doesn't do it unless he *really* needs to. But then again, for all you know, even he can't do it.>They wouldn't disappear or 'de-alchemize', and they would be permenant, though.
>>19497314So we can't do.Could we do it in future when our stamina increases? And do we even have a cap on our potential stamina level?
He said nobody ELSE can do it... but as a sorceress we can regularily say fuck you laws of magic.
>>19497385You're right. We can do divination with no problem which seems to be a very hard and intensive spell.
>Exabyte @Futureexabyte'>Wise-beyond-their-years little girl with magic powers who turns out to be a monster' is a common cliche; I don't fault Fellwind for it.Is it though? And even if it is, I doubt they have media entertainment to be exposed to tropes that much... or at all.
>>19497330>You don't really have a cap, but your stamina only increases when you use it up- So using the Weave or stored energy does restore your stamina, but prevents it from improving.>>19497434>There are PLENTY of anachronisms in the setting, mostly turns of speech and such, so I'm probably not going to exclude cliches or tropes from that.
>>19497434They have literal fae in the world. Why wouldn't they have fairy tales with horrible endings?
