It it a picture of your gaming group that was taken last year. You are mostly hidden behind Friend-kun. You look into your music. You seem to have a few songs that people recommended you at some point, but you really havent put too much into it. The music fits into a wide range of Genres and you dont know what to play, so you just put it on shuffle. You put in your headphones, twiddle your thumbs, and quietly listen to music.

After a several minutes, Friend-kun taps on your shoulder. You are only about half way to DM-bro's house. You take out your headphones.

"Hey Shy-kun, did you need to pick up anything before we go to the game?"

It is now 12:15 PM. Plenty of time before the game starts at 1:00 PM. You did bring your dicebag and character sheet.

You wake up in an ambulance. It seems Friend-kun dialed 9-1-1. You still cant breath very well. Friend-kun is beside you, holding your hand. Waitress-chan is nowhere to be seen. There is a paramedic looking over you.

"It seems you had quite a shock. There is evidence that you had a micro seizure," the paramedic informs you.

"...I...Um..."

"Please, try not to talk. We should be at the hospital soon. We will put you on something to hold off any more attacks, and you can tell us what happened then."

You lay there quietly for the rest of the trip. Friend-kun never lets go of your hand, and he doesnt say anything. This reminds you of something, but you cant quite recall what.

When you reach the hospital, they pull out a wheelchair. They figure you dont need to be carried, but it is better to be safe than sorry. They dont bother with the emergency room.

From now on, the way crits work is One to crit, one to confirm.

That way, it will always be over the minimum when you get a crit, it isnt just "You get one crit, the other rolls dont matter."

Any complaints? So you just need one to crit/critfail, then another within that threshold to actually confirm it. So on a difficulty 50, you would need a 95-100 and a >50 to crit, and a 1-5 and a <50 to critfail.

You tug on Friend-kun's sleeve. He bends over. You whisper in his ear.

When he straightens, he announces to the group.

"Karaoke it is!"

You pile into the cars. Friend-kun takes his position as the driver of his car. You sit in his passenger side. Waitress-chan once again sits in the backseat. She returns Friend-kun's keys to him. It seems that the others are in DM-bro's car.

Waitress-chan points your car toward a Karaoke bar that she knows. DM-bro's car follows close behind. When you reach the bar, the two cars park near eachother. The six of you walk up to the bar together. When you get inside, it is dark and smells faintly of smoke. Orcbro makes a beeline for the bar, Waitress-chan for the stage. The rest of your group finds a table big enough for the six of you in one corner. It has a pretty good view of the stage, and but it is not surprising that it was unoccupied. There are only about 10 people here. One is a group of teenagers. It seems the bar allows anybody in, and also have a range of sodas for sale. It appears that the girl on stage who is singing is with the teenagers. She sounds pretty good. She is singing a song you have never heard of. It seems Waitress-chan is going up after her.

Yeah, getting up in front of people you don't know and singing is probably the most terrifying thing in the world for somebody that's painfully shy. I was only able to do it because I had a dozen supportive friends egging me on and had recently started accepting that I actually have a good singing voice.

Once you get over that first step and get positive feedback, though, it gets a whole lot easier. Also, anti-depressants/anti-anxiety meds help tons.

I do suggest Shy-chan not sing in Japanese. Hell, I would be too embarrassed to do that and I'm somewhat normal.

I vote that Shy-Chan has a decent bit of natural talent (I'm of the opinion that music and emotion are intrinsically related, and someone who feels as intensely as she does would be able to pour that into music), but her shyness and hesitance works against her. She should sing well enough to garner some surprise from the group, and get better as it goes on and she gets more comfortable, but holy shit is her voice going to waver. And she'll definitely think she sounded terrible.

Peer pressure is a hell of a thing. I think Shy-chan will cave.

You think to yourself for a while. There is a bit of a lull in the group, but eventually, Orcbro stands up.

"I havent sung in a while. This should be great."
With that, he takes a shot, then goes up on the stage.

He is a very solid bass, and he sings a sea shanty. It is fairly moving, and the end is pretty sad. He does extremely well, and a lot of the audience has tears in their eyes at the end.

Then he walks back to the table, sits down, and pours himself another drink without a word.
