Hoo. Almost didn't make it, but I did. Let's do this.

We have the Xel'Naga down to 25 ships above the Cube. Two of the worldships have our boarding parties rushing like horrible waves of a chitin sea through them. Of those, one is adrift, firing whenever a target comes into view, and the more damaged has fled the battle at sublight.

Why sublight? Because there have been enough slipspace explosions that the very fabric of reality in this system is fracturing. Nothing can get in or out at warp, and the Xel'Naga computers indicate that getting out via slipstream is pretty dangerous, too.

The Protoss fleet, with Khas at its head, is on the ropes. Our fleet, comprising what was half of our entire Swarm, has been cut nearly in half, with reinforcements inbound at sublight.

That is to say, a quarter of the Swarm is dead, and the battle is not yet finished.
>>
>>21348321
Will Khas let us coordinate with him?

Give it 1d20.

...What?
>>

Ok, then. Apparently, he's just double-plus-super-talkative. Huh.

"Cerebrate, my battle-brother! Let us fight shoulder-to-shoulder as we face the gods! Together, none can stand in our way!"

I'm gonna go ahead and give the mostly-dead Protoss a bonus to not being all-the-way-dead, for that, because I don't know how else to handle a double-critical like that.

Well, /tg/ dice, you've set the bar pretty high for tonight...
>>
>>21348664
Ok so... have Warbrate and Gorn coordinate with Khas, since they're the better tacticians. In the mean time lets have some drones start making some happy trees and bushes.
>>
>>21348779
Artisanlord is hosting a Joy of Spawning marathon in honor of those who have gone before.

(He believes everyday's a good day when you paint, and that it'll bring a lot of good thoughts to your heart)
>>
>>21348664

Use our heavily wounded zergs to screen our protoss allies. The loss of parts of the swarm will be minor compared to the losses the Protoss have suffered.
>>
>>21348890
You're implying that Protoss losses matter more than winning. I we could win by sacrificing all of Khas' fleet I'd do it. If we could win by only sacrificing most of his fleet, I'd do it. The point is I want to win, and weaken the Protoss at the same time, is that to much to ask?
>>
>>21349029

I thought we were trying to be good allies to the protoss to spite that dick of one who said we were going to eat them?
>>
>>21349061
Tassadar.

I don't know if "spiting Tassadar" as a motive to be awesome to the Protoss is still one of our motives or not, but it made me chuckle back when it happened.
>>
>>21349029
>>21349082
Yeah, spiting Tassadar is definitely more important than winning. I mean, we win battles all the damn time. How often do we get to show that asshole up?
>>
>>21349132
... constantly by being awesome. And I'm not saying we act like Backstaby McGee, but saving the Protoss who aren't Khas is a quaternary objective.
>>
>>21349174
>>21349132
To be fair, we don't win battles against the interdimensional gods who designed our species very often, either.
>>
>>21349174
Yeah, but imagine his face if we sacrificed our whole species to save the protoss from the xel'naga. He'd be so ridiculously proved wrong. It'd be the ultimate spite.
>>
>>21348890
Consensus seems to go against this so far? We like the Protoss, but we don't like them /that/ much.
>>
>>21349210
What are you talking about? We've been winning against them for like 15 threads straight now.
>>
>>21349252
Winning, but we've never actually won.

And not to rush you all, but if we don't get to killing, we never will. ;)
>>
>>21349282

Then let us roll die or shall we eat cake?

No i'm not making sense even to myself. It's too early in the morning.
>>
>>21349224
Imagine the look on Dad's giant eye if we did that.

>>21349282
Have Khas, Warbrate, and Gorn been thinking things up? If not we should try to use our reality warping rage induced telekinesis and crush a worldship.

Plasma, biotoxins, and beam of searing light wash through space, a barely-intelligible mess of death and triumph. When all is said and done, the Protoss have destroyed a worldship, our forces have taken down two, and our worldship took down one. As the Xel'Naga counter, their beams tearing apart nearly half of the remaining Protoss, they realize too late that the brave First Born were bait, luring three of the worldships into a killing zone surrounded on all sides, and fully within the firing range of our drifting worldship. The Xel'Naga ships burn away, reducing the number of ships arrayed against us beneath twenty.

Actually, this could work. Strap some warp engines to a bunch of asteroids and aim them at the general vicinity of a worldship. Surely ONE of them will cause mayhem and destruction.
>>
>>21349645
The only problem being that things warping in are not where they should be and/or in pieces. Long range asteroid shotgun is GO!

Nargil and Internbrate seem almost panicked as they beg us not to endanger the Cube with this plan.

Old fashioned way again then.

How are our boarding forces?

Can we force board another worldship or two?
>>
>>21349735
I agree with this synapse. Ask them to come up with ways to win this battle in a prompt fashion if they don't like the Long-Range Asteroid Shotgun, or L-RAS.
>>
>>21349762
You find a way to make that LAPRAS, soldier.

You don't make a Lapras. They hatch out of eggs. Nargil could probably engineer that.

Several hundred overlords in the system are near enough to the crippled worldship to help in the towing effort. Latching onto whatever tendril-holds they can find, the begin pulling and pushing the ship like a massive, distributed engine. Unfortunately, this mass migration attracts unwanted attention, and the ship comes under heavy fire. Despite being mobile, the ship is still extremely slow, and extremely large. It can't dodge, even as well as other worldships.

As the ship starts to break apart under fire, Gorn makes the call, and the overlords crack the ship in two, dragging the pieces into two nearby worldships. Amid the extreme loss, both of the ground forces aboard and overlords towing the craft, the two worldships are destroyed.
>>
>>21350436

How many more worldships are left?
>>
>>21350450
Sixteen worldships are in the battle above the Cube.
>>
>>21350450
They have 18? And we have one slowly fleeing.
>>
>>21350465

Can we start throwing debris at them? How many more overlords do we have?

All our space assets to open up on them again.
>>
>>21350465

Big Brain, you still alive, yo?
