well, I'm running low on cider, it's cold, and generally shitty outside, but eh, no big, right? Fair warning, power may be iffy today, IDK.

And, as usual, I'm on the IRC.

Someone with a poetic bent might find the landscape sliding beneath you gorgeous. Romantic, even. A frozen wilderness, snow draped mountains with deep valleys in between, everything covered in a deep layer of thick coniferous forest.

It's just a fucking shame you're not a poet.

The majority of your 2,400km flight has been fairly quiet- Merlin's been working to get your new HMDs to talk to the computers. A last second change forced the guys at Boeing to swap out your new helmets for a different 'older' set of new helmets. Turns out, having lasers projected on your eyes, while 'perfectly safe' causes a lot of eye strain and fatigue. The system they issued is more conventional- simply projecting the HUD onto the inside of your helmet, and using an electronic eye to track your pupil. Mated to your bird's weapons computer, it allows you all the same functionality as the other system- without the strain.

Assuming, of course, Merlin can get it to work. She's had some luck- and Katya has been a great help, acting as a test target for your computers- but it's still iffy.
>>
Your wakeup call came in at 09, a welcome change from the fleet. By the time you'd snarled something incoherent and thrown the phone across the room, you could smell fresh coffee- which, of course, meant that five more minutes was out of the question. When you actually opened one bleary eye, the first sight that greeted you was the TV. Tuned to CNN, it was playing footage that showed the city of Warsaw, in west Poland, and the multiple columns of smoke rising above it. The newscaster came on a bit later, saying that elements of the US 11th armored cavalry regiment, along with the 1st polish tankwitches and 7th panzer division had engaged the lead armored elements of no fewer than 4 soviet guards armies in the city proper, while the river Vistula was the scene of brutal engagements as NATO forces attempted to contain the soviet advance and prevent any bridgeheads. Fighting, the reporter said, was ongoing, though other areas had been penetrated and the NATO forces were withdrawing.

Your heart froze for a second at the mention of the 11ACR- your brother Jake commands a company of Abrams tanks with them. You sat and watched the screen for a few minutes- eventually Katya sat down on the edge of the bed and offered you a cup of coffee, while reminding you you did have things to do today. She also insisted she had not been in your room before she started the coffee, but she did this while laughing, so you're not too sure.

But you did have things to do- and a short ride later, you were reunited with your RIO and her family in the hangar with your new F-14, while your old one was being wheeled in from the landing field outside, it's wings and tails still removed for shipping. The Boeing execs were there- you and Merlin and Katya posed for a few more pictures with them, plastic, public smiles frozen on your faces.
>>
You tried to give them- and the patrons at the nearby museum- a bit of a show on takeoff. Holding the breaks locked with the toes of your boots, you slowly advanced the throttles till both afterburner lights lit up. After releasing the breaks, your cat fairly jumped down the runway. When the nose gear finally lifted off the ground, you waited a split second- then pushed into a near-vertical climb, the altimeter spinning dizzily up as you passed 20,000 feet in mere seconds.

However, the rest of the flight has been fairly mundane. You've been directed to elmendorf proper- the base's operations have been expanded to such an extent that some aircraft, especially navy and marines- are being directed to Anchorage international airport, with the kulis air national guard base being used to house some aircraft, and the air cargo terminal to house others.

Your landing approach is fairly straightforward- despite the layer of snow over everything else, the runway is clean and dry, and your landing is one of the easiest you've had in a while. However, as you follow the marshal to your assigned hangar- the same as houses the witches striker stands, you notice trouble brewing.

A witch with the eagle of a full colonel, wearing a USAF uniform lurks near the striker stands loaded with your squadron's strikers- with all their ground crew suspiciously absent. As you power down your aircraft, she approaches, clearly intent on talking with you.

[x] Lieutenant commander Bishop reporting, ma'am.

You manage to take in a few details as you wait for the ground crew to open up the footholds on the side of your bird. She's got short red hair, piercing blue eyes and... cowboy boots. With spurs.

You drop to the ground and offer a smart salute as she approaches. “Lieutenant commander Bishop reporting, ma'am.” She returns the salute offhandedly, looking up at your bird.

“Wonderful. I'm Colonel McaLeod. Follow me. One of your squadron should be along to collect your RIO in a minute.” She doesn't really give you a chance to protest, stalking away towards one of crew offices set along the back of the hangar.

“Close the door behind you.” She says.

When you do, she turns around. “Listen, I really don't know what kind of shit the navy is trying to pull here, but you really don't belong with this Wing. Mixxed units don't work- the martian war proved that.” She shakes her head. “I'm sorry, but we're going to have to assign you to one of the other navy commands out at Kulis. Witches work better with other witches, not some souped up second-rate Air superiority fig-”

She's cut off by the door slamming open. And the ambient temperature in the room dropping by about thirty degrees.

Risking a glance back over your shoulder, you see Ice, her familiar's ears and tail out.

Oh, shit.

This war is going to be Soviet bodies vs American hardware, but if they break out of Germany, France will probally go insane. If they had nuclear weapons, they would have launched them, but I can imagine they would instead launch absurd bioweapons.

Actual quotes for humor and shock.

Within ten years, we shall have the means to kill 80 million Russians. I truly believe that one does not light-heartedly attack people who are able to kill 80 million Russians, even if one can kill 800 million French, that is if there were 800 million French.[4]

Sir, I have no quarrel with you, but I warn you in advance and with all possible clarity that if you invade me, I shall answer at the only credible level for my scale, which is the nuclear level. Whatever your defenses, you shan't prevent at least some of my missiles from reaching your home and cause the devastation that you know. So, renounce your endeavour and let us stay good friends.

So I could see France, if they stay as .. fun as they are in reality, changing nuclear weapons for biological and chemical ones, but that assumes the German lines fall.

Well yes, that's literally true since the missile is SACLOS-guided for most of its flight.

But then, the Tunguska has a search radar / facilities to receive targeting information from a larger anti-air network, and I'm pretty sure the A-10 isn't fitted-out for wild weasel missions.

Deciding that you'd better stick around, just in case they come to fisticuffs, you slide off to one side as the door slams shut behind ice- hard enough to rattle the pencils on the desk.

“Just what the hell is the meaning of-” Col. Redhead is cut off again by Ice.

“Just where do you get off, ambushing MY pilot like that?” Ice seethes, her voice low and dangerous.

“Commander I hardly think-” the Air force witch tries again, and is interrupted again.

“First, He was assigned here by the navy chain of command. Navy. And If you're going to try to re-assign him, you've got to do it within your command, which is surprise, surprise, all witches. Second, he's an ace, and meets all the historical criteria for serving with witches. Third, in case you've been living under a rock, the 501 and 48/512 were both wartime mixed units and they did fine!” Ice continues, growing visibly more agitated.

“Commander Kazanski you're- “ A third failed attempt.

>>
“Fourth, it isn't wartime dogfights with squiddies. It's BVR combat with Russians. You have AMRAAMS on that striker of yours? MINE sure doesn't! Fifth, he's the CINCPAC's golden child right now, do you want to mess with that? Sixth and most goddamned importantly, he's MY fucking pilot, and if he's a problem I'll deal with it!” She stops, probably trying to prevent herself from clawing the colonel's eyes out.

“If you’re QUITE done, commander.” The redheaded colonel starts again, her own familiar now out- an eagle, it looks like.

Fucking headwings.

“You two are dismissed.” she says, one fist clenched. “But let me make it clear that the commander of this base will hear about this little incident. And It'll go as high up as it needs to.”

She stalks out of the room, yelling for her vehicle.

“Go get Merlin and Katya and get to our assigned quarters.” Ice says, calming down.

“Aye ma'am. Where are we housed?” You ask, carefully.

“Next door. They set us up in a Quonset hut.” She shakes her head. “I didn't even know we still HAD Quonset huts. At least we're close to our equipment.”

You nod. “Thank the gods for small favors. You going to be alright, ma'am?”

She sighs. “That fucking zoomie has been raising hell about you since she got out roster, apparently. None of the other witch units here have a steelwing with them, and none of them will as long as she has any say. If we get another carrier unit- the wardogs, maybe- we'll be ok, but in the mean time, expect the shit assignments.” She chews her lip for a moment. “I'm going to rotate who you're flying with, too. Even if she's determined to grind you down with long patrols, she's not doing it to my entire damn squadron. It sucks, but you'll have to deal with it for the time being.”

You collect your gear and walk... exactly 20 steps to your quarters. Yep. Old, war-style Quonset hut, probably set up maybe the day before. Inside, four army cots line either side of the front of the building, with the back half walled off. Slider sits on one bed, gunnybear next to her, reading some fantasy novel or other. She doesn't even look up as you enter.

“Pick a bed- none of the ones on the other side of the room are taken. There's a head in the back to the left, and the room to the back right is empty. Maverick and Goose are up on patrol.” She says, clearly disinterested. “Ain't shit to do on this post. Heard there was some shit in town, but we don't have wheels, so we'd have to find a ride. Oh, and I hope you brought a spare blanket or two. This fucking thing gets cold as shit at night.”

Katya selects, predictably, the bed immediately next to yours, and merlin picks the one on the other side, by the window.

Order of business:

1) Check the roster. When is our next patrol?
2) Call family. They probably wouldn't have heard anything about Jake yet if something happened, but it'll reassure them.
3) If we're not scheduled for anything today, get wheels. Can't be that hard. I would be damned surprised if we couldn't get a rental for our wing, or weren't at least provided a GSA van, for doing admin tasks. Even if we weren't provided a rental, we can probably get everyone to chip in on one. Everyone's going to at least want access to stuff from town, and with a steady set of wheels for the wing, we can do admin tasks and such more efficiently when we're not getting basic amenities, so it's eminently justifiable to Ice if she complains.

If we can get wheels, see what everyone wants from town. Pick up something nice for Mav and Goose.

Ok, this is bad because there is a fun, fun thing called fraternization. because of our position of power over her, my friend, we could be charged with it, because of section C.

. When prejudicial to good order or of a nature to bring discredit on the Naval service, personal relationships between officer members or between enlisted members that are unduly familiar and that do not respect differences in grade or rank are prohibited. Prejudice to good order and discipline or discredit to the Naval service may result from, but are not limited to, circumstances which:

(2) result in actual or apparent preferential treatment;

which is a huge deal.

Also...

Any commissioned officer, cadet, or midshipman who is convicted of conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

Elements.

(1) That the accused did or omitted to do certain acts; and

(2) That, under the circumstances, these acts or omissions constituted conduct unbecoming an officer and gentleman.

In our case that is a huge deal, by the way, so even if they didn't use that, they could always pull 133 out!
>>
>>21361253
But how can we be sure? I sure as shit would not put it past the Russians to have cooked the entire thing up. I mean, they WERE just looking for an excuse to start World War 3.

>>

Also, comedy answer 134

“Though not specifically mentioned in this chapter, all disorders and neglects to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces, all conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces, and crimes and offenses not capital, of which persons subject to this chapter may be guilty, shall be taken cognizance of by a general, special, or summary court-martial, according to the nature and degree of the offense, and shall be punished at the discretion of that court

>>
>>21361323

She may not be officially be in the navy, but she's still kinda in our chain of command as our wingman, so it certainly violates the spirit of the anti-fraternization regs if not the letter.

Further, nothing's stopping them from slapping us with conduct unbecoming, as NavalAnon said.
>>
>>21361323
The problem is that she's under our command, not that she's a member of the US armed forces. A fraternization charge would be debated along the question of whether our association charge led to special treatment.

A relationship between a member of the regular forces and a witch is probably covered under a different set of regs, or just passed over with a "It's cool."

That was during WWII, and MC was highly-decorated and well-connected.

Also, the person he was banging was also the only person who could conceivably bring the hammer down on him, since his entire chain of command at that point was witches (read: immune to outside pressure from all but the highest-ranking brass).

[x] Wonderful. Well, I guess I can change and go see about getting some shit in town to make this thing livable.

“Great.” You grouse, noticing the building is a bit cold- even with four people in it. “Hey Slider, you said we didn't have wheels? Where's the nearest motor pool?”

She looks up at you. “Probably the army base next door. Why?”

“Cos this bitch is cold.” You say. “I'm going to go sign out a truck or something, and go to town. Get us some shit so we're not miserable up in this bitch.”

She looks thoughtful. “That's not a half bad idea. Ice nixxed a general shopping spree earlier today, but I'm sure she'll be fine with that. Actually- she doesn't have to be. I'm the squadron XO. Go ahead and go.”

“Hey, Slider, what about phones?” You ask, suddenly remembering the CNN reports from earlier today.

She snorts. “Yeah, good luck. The phone exchange is jammed solid, right now. Hell, I'm not even sure you'll be able to find a set of wheels- shit's been arriving all morning. We've got elements of about thirty different units in these bases, judging from all the patches I've seen and the tail codes.”

“Well shit.” You say, thinking about your Brother. Brothers, actually- Rex is a PJ in the airforce, and is sure to be getting deployed forward now. Plus there's always Jessica to think about- the girl changes her mind constantly, and could just as easily have decided to fly A-10s now.

>>
You change, and after a short round of convincing, end up with a small lump of cash- and one of the squadron's expense cards- along with a warning from Slider to not buy anything you can't justify on paper if you're asked. Katya and Merlin both pass on joining you, and Slider just laughs at you when you ask her.

You don't end up having to hoof it all the way to the Army post to find a vehicle. One of the local units' ground crews is more than willing to let you borrow a small pickup truck, with the promise that you bring back several cases of beer, which you're more than happy to make.

A short while later, you've managed to purchase All the beer, and then some, plus several rolls of insulation, plenty of plywood, tools, 10 or so good, thick, blankets, and a pair of electric heaters.

And a cute doormat for the door. One that reads “Get Bent” you felt it appropriate.

WWII was a very different time, and regulations in some aspects were far looser, so getting away with fraternization was more plausible back then. In fact, GIs on German occupation duty routinely ignored non-fraternization policies without getting punished.

[x] See if there's a payphone or something. Shoot a call home anyway.

Eyeballing the sky, you imagine you've got a couple hours yet, before it starts to get really cold.

Plenty of time to shoot a collect call home.

Your mom picks up after the first ring- and she's glad to hear you. After some small talk (and a warning to not do anything to get yourself in trouble with you chain of command) you bring up the subject of your little brother.

“We haven't heard from him, yet.” Your mom says simply. “Jessica says she saw his tank in some news footage from the withdrawal out of Warsaw, but nothing else. And you know her, it could have just as easily been anyone else.”

“Mom, I doubt, strongly, anyone else in Poland is driving an M1A1 with 'booze hound' painted on the main gun and lewd artwork of that one tank witch from the war on the front armor.” You point out.

“Yeah, I guess. Well, we haven't heard from him either way. Hopefully he'll be able to call if they get a defensive line set up.” She says. “Rex called last night, said his unit was being deployed to Ramstein in Germany, and the base here has emptied out pretty fast.”

“Any word on the pacific?” You ask.

“Nothing. All eyes are on Poland right now.” She says. “I have to go, your grandmother is coming down and we have to go pick her up from the airport. I love you, be safe, alright?”

“Of course mom. I love you too.” You say, as she hangs up the phone.

Going back over your fast mental checklist, you duck inside a nearby store and come back out with a massive boombox and a bulk pack of D-cell batteries. You're not sure if your hut has power yet, and you're probably better off with the radio right now than you would be with a TV.

Once back on post, it's a fairly short job of dropping off everything and thanking the ground crew for the loan of the truck. The senior airman grins as you hand him back the keys. “Shit, sir. We're a transport unit. They'd have probably loaned you a -130 if you asked nice enough!”

You'll have to keep it in mind for next time.

Inside your hut, It seems like everyone's home... and there's an argument brewing.

“It should be a kitchen!” Maverick declares with some heat in her voice. “We can get a propane stove set up back there and they said they were gonna run water and power! And it's not like we ever touch the squadron fund anyway!”

“Bullshit!” Slider says. “We need a recroom. I'm going to go stircrazy if all there is to do here is read and fucking fly! We need a TV and a fucking couch! There's chowhalls on base and we can always get a fridge and a microwave anyway!”

The racket is louder than your efforts to hang insulation, and that's saying something.

But yeah, you can do both, get 3 hotplates, 2 tables, a television, a super nintendo, a ping pong table, fridge, and a diesel generator to make sure this place has extra power, some weights for PT, and you are good to go. Anime may not exist, because of the lack of Disney coming in, and restrictions from McCarty's takeover.

Also, I am honestly shocked communist Rebels don't exist in Korea/Occupied China, as well as the various islands, I mean I could see the communists using this as the time to funnel massive amounts of weapons and arms, to distract Japan with a lot of little rebellions, thus pulling their military forces away from the Pacific rim.

Eh, to be fair, IRL anime was sort of big in Latin America/France first since Japan has a thing for France, and exported stuff that way, so Mazinger Z might still exist, Tezuka might have still wrote his own books..

and stuff went over to Latin America, so assuming the Naval Faction's coup in SWQ killed the facist groups, Japan went much more democratic much quicker, so eh, could be. I really want Ghost to clarify the Japan situation, since it affects several theories. Knowing nukes are a SHARED GLOBAL DEFENSE like the scientists who originally made them asked for explains a lot.

[x] There's some room in there, maybe we can cram in both?

“Ya know.” You observe, admiring your work “There's some room back there. So long as we didn't get too demanding, I'm sure we could fit both. At least, so long as you weren't planning on hosting any parties in it.”

“It'll wait till tomorrow.” Ice says. “We’re supposed to get power and water run soon, which is fine, but it also means we'll be next door neighbors with a runway.”

You hadn't really thought of that. “I can get some soundproofing tomorrow too.” you offer from the door of the empty room. It'll be a squeeze, but you're pretty sure you can jam in a basic kitchen and a couch and TV with a folding table or something. It won't be roomy by any stretch of the imagination but it'll work.

At least, you're relatively sure it will.

Likely not, I mean the Allies and the Axis were already solidly bound in SWQ, so there would have been no need for someone to reach out. Unlike China who was at the time still a part of the Soviet Sphere, well okay they recently broke up.
>>
“Hey, wait.” You say, suddenly remembering something. “You said we had a head in here. We don't have water run?”

Ice shakes her head. “Not yet. This place already had one when it was pulled out of storage, which works out well enough, but we can't use it. “

“Well damn.” You say. “I guess when we do get it run, we'll be in business. I can get a water heater too. Shit, we'll be living large then.” You laugh.

Without power, of course, your electric heaters- two of them- are no good. Thankfully, you bought a generator, which helps a lot, and it's not like it's any louder than the runway activity. While it's still on the colder side, your building isn't downright frigid, and you can sit on top of your bed, enjoying your own book without freezing. You end up drawing straws to see who has to go get chow- Slider and Maverick lose, and end up walking to the chow hall and back, bringing dinner. Next time, you'll go into town, you decide.

As night time settles in, you have to review your initial assessment- maybe this won't be so bad after all. The new blankets keep you warm enough, and even sharing your sleeping arrangements with your whole squadron with no privacy is no big deal to you- it's pretty much what you already had on the ship, except now you have your own bathroom and you'll have your own rec room and kitchen soon enough.

[x] duty roster first, then chow.

You decide that you'd better check the duty roster first, before chow. There's no major air operations- except for several extra patrols up over the western part of the state, the base is almost on it's peacetime footing.

Looking over the roster, you note you're scheduled to fly the green-1 route- out west, over the wade hampton census area, between the Yukon river and Bristol bay- a 200 mile chunk of nothing with maybe a few thousand residents all told and plenty of small airports, but nothing capable of handling anything bigger than a cessna.

Morning chow isn't bad- better than you're used to, though the eggs still have that 'government issue' taste to them.

Your flight plan and charting is ready-made, though you need to pull your equipment load for the flight. Suggested load is 2 YAIM-152s, 6 AMRAAMS, and 2 Agile, with a pair of tanks, but your bird can handle a different load if you want.

[you have 4 standard plumbed points- 2 on the wing gloves and 2 centerline. Each point can handle 3x AIM-9 or AIM-95E, 2 AIM-120, 1 YAIM-152, 1 fuel tank, or 750lbs of bombs. You also have 2 topside fuselage points, which are limited to 1 AIM-9 or 1 AIM-95E each, and 4 fuselage points that can handle 2 AIM-9 or AIM-95, 1 AIM-120, or 1 YAIM-152 each. This is a 6 hour mission. And will require refuelling with no tanks carried.]

[Suggested loadout]

After some short thought, you elect to launch with just slight changes to the suggested load, swapping a pair of AMRAAMS for -152s, which you feel gives you good enough versatility for the mission at hand. Your wingmate- Slider, this time- and you will take the patrol anchor from a pair of USAF F-15s currently up, then hold it for six hours- max allowable for a witch- then be relieved on station by a different pair of 15s from Elmendorf.

The other patrol missions are covered by a hodgepodge of aircraft- some -15s from Elmendorf, some -16s from Elmendorf, and some -18s from the units at Kulis, plus more -16 from Eielson up near Fairbanks covering the northern blocks.

There's also an E-3 sentry on station, callisgn Typhoon. They're escorted by a pair of -15s, and act both as the primary radar in the area and the on-site command unit.

You make your station, and after several boring hours, you're ready to be relieved.

It's certainly unwelcome when Typhoon breaks across the 'all hands' channel.

“All aircraft, all aircraft this is typhoon. Massive incoming bogies near weasel-61. All flights, Egress east. Do not attempt to engage.”

well, shit.

This. Seems a good balance between 'Fuck you commies' and 'Play it smart'
>>
I bet there are being fired on by all of our SAM's by now
>>
If it were just us? We'd be coming home clean. But we have Slider to think about. So this time we do what AWACS says and get out of there, I think.

How're we on fuel? Are we going to have to land and refuel to engage this thing? Or can we just move east and stay airborne? I recall we took two tanks with us, but I'm not sure how much loiter time that actually gains us.

If Slider's feeling alright
[x] I've got long range missiles, be an awful shame to bring 'em home.

If not, bug out.

Commander Slutty McTitsbitch needs to learn to shut the fuck up and let Steelwings do what they do best, which is being better then Witches.

Why did they think that was a good idea to build?

If you have several tonnes of steel coming towards you, you'd be shitting you pants. Not to mention the fact that people won't believe you when you say a landship took out your base.

>The KV-VI was nicknamed "Stalin's Orchestra" by the few Germans that encountered it because of the variety of weapons it deployed.

I like that name

Hey, we should probably also figure a way to ask Katya what she knows about this thing. Let's make good use of having a defector.

[x] Slider's got to be tired, no shape for a fight. Let's get outta here.

“When the AWACS guy calls for a mixed group of over twenty fighters to bug out, it's time to go.” You remark, turning east and diving a bit for speed.

“They must have timed it.” Slider says. “If they'd have hit us an hour earlier, I'd be pushing to engage, flying carrier or not.”

“But they didn't.” Merlin says. “Getting limited, weak radar warnings. That thing has some range to track us out here. Wonder if it has weapons to match?”

“I sure as hell hope not.” You say, looking back over your shoulder, as if you could see anything at this distance.

Flying over the Alaska range is interesting- Merlin reports several SAM tracks, but they're from friendly systems. The army must have rushed units out here- it's been less than an hour since you left your patrol anchor, little over that since typhoon made the call. Merlin doesn’t note the types, but you can see at least one patriot emplacement on the way in.

Elmendorf is busy launching a major sortie- but you're directed to land. Your squadron is being held back for now, as a reaction force in case this isn't the main push. With the flying carrier, you can't see how it's anything but the main effort, but that kind of thing flies above your paygrade anyway.

You debrief shortly after shutting down your cat, Slider mentioning how the call to leave probably was for the best since she's not sure if she could have handled a fight like that, not in her state.

“Here's the deal, then. The joint wing is being held back as a reaction force.” Ice says. “The army is shipping up some tank witches, and the zoomies are bringing up another squadron of witches with ground attack specialties. The soviets covered major landings with that air fleet- nome's gone, and they're pushing east pretty quickly, though they're going to be pushing supply lines pretty hard before they reach Fairbanks.”

She grins. “And we're going to start hitting them before they make it there. Once those ground attack girls get here, we'll be their top cover.” She looks at you. “Start reading up on the air to mud ordinance you can carry, Bishop. We'll want some multirole missions out of you.”

You seem to recall a poem about blood on the snow, or something. It seems terribly appropriate for what's about to happen here.

And that's all for tonight!

Next week: Panzers in Poland!

hope y'all enjoyed it, I did, and I sure hope my action scene writing has improved, haha!

Alaska is huge and mostly unimproved, the soviets are gonna have a hell of a time getting anywhere over land.

And I mean, what could they possibly want in Alaska anyway? Starting a war on two fronts is never a good plan.

Now that I've finally caught I have to ask: is this a once-a-week thing or is it sporadically Tuesdays & Thursdays?

Tuesdays once a week most of the time, I try and post on the twitter if I'm going to run a second. I'll also usually give up the Tuesday spot if SWQ is going to run that same day.

How else are try going to make a strike on the US homefront without nukes?

Not like they're going to go through Mexico.

I appreciate that. My early threads were a lot rougher, but it's awesome to see 350+ replies these days.

>>21365202

Well, I'd do it more often, but with less time to write out the thread arc, I think the quality would suffer.
>>
>>21365210

It just seems like such a boondoggle, since you have to get all the way from northwestern Alaska to Canada and then fight all the way through Canada to reach the continental US.

I suppose they might be trying to reach that one superweapon, but even then I think they'd be better served sending strategic bombers after it.
>>
Where the fuck's my Corgi?
>>
>>21364982
I cannot wait to see what the postwar Heer looks like, considering they don't seem to have gotten the allied Shitkicking treatment.
>>
>>21365295
So you want to send strategic bombers against a super weapon whose sole purpose is complete and total anti-air superiority and is designed to take out targets up to orbit and traveling at re-entry speeds?
>>
>>21365295
Shortest possible distance for a naval invasion. Lack of strategic nukes means you need to win the war with boots on the ground.

Marching through Alaska and Canadia is hard and unpleasant, but more feasible than fighting through the pacific fleet to make landings in California.

And they might be going to hit up through Mexico - remember ghat Russkie task force off Peru mentioned a few threads back?

That's what this guy was for, high-speed low-altitude penetration.

Granted, I'm not sure how it would fair against a superweapon, but it's worth a shot I guess.
>>
>>21365506

But the logistics problems with this are basically insurmountable (since, as you said, they'd still have to get through the US Navy).
>>
>>21365553
I never said it'd be practical. Only that it's somewhat less impossible than the other potential options.
