Stand's are the main superpower source in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, a manga series that's fairly popular on /tg. Okay, here's my re-do. This time I have "Turn Up the Radio" by Autograph. Going by a random search on the Powers Listing Wiki, I have Centrifugal Force Manipulation. So some sort of vaguely robotic humanoid, as most stands are. Along its forearms are several volume dials, three per arm. By twisting the dial it can impart torque on any solid object, the farther the twist the more torque. Direction of twist from the neutral state controls whether torque is clockwise or counterclockwise. But it can only simultaneously control a number of objects equal to the number of dials it has. Overall, a suitable Stand for a supporting character or a mid-level antagonist.

Well, names do inform the Stand's appearance. Just not their abilities. "Kiss" has no powers directly related to kissing, but the stickers it produces on those marked by its abilities are lip-shaped. Though some do have directly related powers. "Echoes" has sound-based powers (well, sound effects powers. It's complicated), and "Weather Report" can control the weather. Though that's really more or a set up to its main power, that of turning everyone who looks at the rainbows it produces into snails.

JJBA is a weird series, okay? "Bizarre" is in the title, you can't really expect any different. At least the strangeness makes for interesting fights. Seeing how characters find ways to use their powers as weapons is half the fun. I mean, one character has the power to turn metal into living balloon animals, and he's one of the deadliest characters in that arc. It's a hell of a trip.

Not OP, but I can hazard a guess. Staying would represent how lasting a Stand's effects are. Some Stands can effectively curse their victims forever, to the point that even the user can't reverse the effects. Precision would be, well, how precisely you can focus your powers. Are you going to turn everyone in the area into dinosaur-shaped candelabras, or just a specific target? Learning would be how many exotic uses of the power you can develop with enough creativity. Some Stands are straightforward, some are near-worthless until the user comes up with a creative application.

Well, the anime only covers the first two volumes, where Stands haven't appeared yet, but it's still pretty good. Well, there's a miniseries of the latter part of volume three, but as it's more or less lacking in context it will probably just confuse you.

I'd say watch the anime, then do the manga. As the anime only covers the vampire arcs, not the Stand arcs (well, volume three has both, but regardless), you won't get the full "how in God's name is that a useful power" experience that makes the fights so much fun, but it still has all the fabulousity that makes JoJo what it is. You'll have fun. Though you may find yourself questioning your sexuality somewhere along the way. That ass on Wham, man. It's criminal.

Ok, so last JoJo thread, I made one, and there was a ton of great ideas thrown around.

Twist and Shout is a royal-purple humanoid Stand. His power is fire generation. All joints are set on bevels, so they can rotate freely. When the user speaks, a limb rotates and generates flames. The louder the user, the larger and hotter the flames. The fire can be projected, or kept close to the limb for a burning punch.

He must also return to the user's side very soon after using his power more than once, meaning the more he tries to kill someone, the less time he has to accomplish it.

Soft Space by soft machine

Looks like a mechanical man or an android with speakers where its chest is. Once it starts dancing, anyone, including the user, that sees Soft Space dance instantly and involuntarily bursts into dance and continues to do so until the stand stops dancing. Music starts booming from its chest when it starts dancing and the dance that the victim does changes depending on the music playing, which Soft space can change at will. Victims of Soft Space will dance as if they are a professional dancer of that dance. Physically, he can't do a whole lot, but has decent range and is quite agile.

The rebel fight for two nights and three days, and at the end of it all they bring out North and the other survivor and take them for a public execution. In the end the uprising was fruitless and North threw away his life for nothing.

The Ranged modifier is on the power as a whole, because usually an Ally or someone Posessed can wander as far from the PC's body as they feel like. I just took the Ranged enhancement and inverted it; this is not an ideal compromise, but it's good for something quick and dirty. Consider using the Sense-based limitation instead (can only send stand where they can see), or something similar. Automatic stands Do not have this limitation!

With that you can then throw various ranged ehancements/limitations on the stand to change how far it can wander from the PC; it starts out with a default of 100 yards, so most of the Jojo stands have the Reduced Range limitation.

Increasing the base point total of the Ally allows for more powerful stands, obviously. Telecontrol 2 and Minion (IQ 0) mean that while the stand cannot act on its own, the Stand User can operate its body and his own at the same time-with a penalty to whichever one he's not focusing on. This means that it's probably best if your frail human body just focuses on posing like a boss while the stands duke it out.

IQ 0 also means that the stands get something like 200 points on top of their normal allowance to have superpowers with, so they can get very strong. Usually in GURPS there's a disadvantage limit, so they wouldn't get all of that value. Mess around with whether you use it or not; if you do use a disadvantage limit, the gap in power between the Stand and the User won't be as large, and the Users will have a better range of skills and advantages.

The above setup is also meant for stands like Crazy Diamond, Silver Chariot, and The Fool. Stands that take the form of equipment, like White Album or The Emperor, are best done through other methods.

Once its absorbed, the happiness can be then converted by the user into gold, in any shape and way he or she wants. This stand usually doesn't do anything unless asked by its user, and it also won't attack the user under any circunstance, due to its calm and quiet behavior. Viva La Vida can also clean normally as a maid would, but that doesn't have any fighting use asides from training the stand's cleaning skills, like sweeping or using a vaccum cleaner, for example.

Almost every power I use is different from the way it's presented on the wiki. I just choose a random power to base things off of. Veritas isn't randomized, but that's because the lyrics to the song were fucking PERFECT for what I wanted.

Besides, seeing what I can do with a random power and a random song is enjoyable, and saves me a lot of trouble coming up with something entirely by myself.

It Makes No Difference will offer its hand to everyone, friend or foe alike, and will give them one thing, and only one thing.
They have no control over what it grants them, and the consequences could be anything from beneficial to incredibly dire. They will always have an important role to play in the wisher's life to come, however, making the wish worth taking the majority of the time, though the wisher may regret it in the long run.

IMNDWWA is not a combat stand, but a passive observer who will retreat into the Blackstar at its back should it ever be attacked the Blackstar being an invincible defense.

Its User is unknown, and has never been sighted. IMNDWWA is always seen alone.

the User is actually trapped within the blackstar, as their wish was "to be unbeatable." The Blackstar, formerly just a symbol of IMND's powers, became the indestructible shield for the user, and absorbed them, leaving the stand to continue its work.

Description: Brave New World firsts manifests as a small syringe filled with a transparent liquid. Upon being injected into someone, Brave New World will take control of their body and enhance their abilities to an incredible degree, turning them into a secondary stand for Brave New World's user. When the host of Brave New World expires, they liquify and then explode violently, sending Brave New World's liquid in every direction. If even a small amount gets inside a person's body, it turns them into a host for Brave New World. In this way, Brave New World's user can have multiple 'stands' at once.

At any time, Brave New World's user may recall Brave New World, killing it's current host(s) and summoning a new syringe for Brave New World to inhabit.

Description: A hovering collection of blurred lines and vague boundaries in the general shape of a mouth, it manifests slightly above and behind the head of the user. The mouth is constantly babbling, but no sound can be heard.

Power: Grants the user the ability to blur and blend things. Make distinctions between objects, words, and at higher levels, even concepts arbitrary. Fuse a man's shoes to the ground on which he stands - make a man's words run together into a Babel tongue - and at higher levels, hypothetically even make individuality and uniqueness obsolete.

Limitations: The user of Stuff is Way can only blur one thing at a time - and as long as he or she is doing so, they are completely enveloped by Stuff is Way's mercurial form, preventing them from moving or dodging any attacks. The key to defeating Stuff is Way is to attack it with many angles and tactics - and the key to using Stuff is Way is to figure out how best to blur things in order to annihilate your opponents.

I'm thinking of an automatic stand that latches on to target than causes constant noises and/or minor accidents in their vicinity, driving them mad. Cool, but that's a minor-villain tier.

"The Crystal Reformation" by Master Musiacians of Bukakke. Now, that's a cool name for a stand.

Appearance: A humanoid creature made out of a blue (or maybe purple, it is JoJo after all) crystalline substance.
Whenever it punches someone the joints near the location of the punch start crystallizing - so that your enemy loses their speed and flexibility. However, its most fearsome power is that if it punches a stand, its owner becomes rigid and is unable to change their opinions or feelings on anything - so for example, if you convince someone that some other person killed their father and then you punch their stand, they will continue to believe it even after being confronted with hard evidence.
