Um.. Guys, I am back... ;_;

You are Otto Schulte a twelve year old girl on her way to destiny, you've spent an entire day on a planet - the longest you've ever lingered on one in your life, right now you are down in the mud with a horrible pain in your leg.

Last week we spoke to Lak #2 had new planet food and got shot in the knee.

"The emperor smiles upon those that die in his grace, and kittens."

Roll rules:

Lowest of first three rolls for things the character is skilled at doing.
Median of first three rolls for things the character is "capable" at.
Highest of first three rolls for things the character is utterly shit at.

You have to "beat" your stats (which for now are hidden by popular demand, this may change) so low rolls are good.

Cont post explained:If there is a post marked at the end with "cont" its becouse your QM is lazy, and can't type fast - or becouse he wants to give you the option to jump into the current events, or offer opinions, if none are offered he'll continue as normal

Disclamer in regards to Re:Spelling: I suck at spelling big time, if anyone actually cares its due to the fact I suffer from Dysgraphia, its the primary reason I got into RP in the first place, trying to practice my spelling. Its not about "don't complain about it!" but rather: "If you've got the time and want to proof read it great! But lets not clog the thread with it, send it to my E-mail! (Yes I do use a spellchecker)

I will no doubt change the backgrounds to be more down-toned and pick better colors for the titles/info box.

Wow, what's with the Nikkobar hate? Isn't it obvious that one day we're going to walk in on him sobbing, get him to open up to us and forge a cast-iron friendship? The pain in your leg snaps you back to reality suddenly as it raises in intensity when you relax your knee, groggy still you realize you had just passed out for.. how long? You can't say, could have been a few seconds or several minutes - perhaps more? Interrupted by another surge up your spine you are forced away from the trail of thought you want to scream but you can't muster the strength to. Instead your mind gives your surroundings a quick analyze through tear filled eyes, the trench your in continues in both directions, but cuts only a few meters in either directions sharply to the side - you've come to realize the entire ditch is dug in a zig-zag shape as far as you can tell, but for what reason - you don't know. Its dusty, that is for certain - every motion seems to stir up a minor cloud of dirt and fifth, making you cough - and your giving your leg another excuse to send pain up your calf. Other then that - you can see some boxes where upon the boy you shot still lies motionless, and several solid pieces of plasteel resting against a wall, absent mindedly you also seem to gather that there is no gun in your hand... the twisted piece of metal appears lost on you at the moment, and you can't seem to find it.

Almost feeling like puking you try and gather yourself.

You gag twice before you clip your teeth together and try to yell out loud in pain as you swing around on your stomach, only a muffled groan manage to escape your lips however - right now, you need two things, first thing - as much as it hurts to admit it, you need that damned... thing, that horrid piece of black metal if you're going to have any chance of surviving this - "non-lethal" my exhaust you scream inwardly, if you took that blast to the head, it would have been all done! Digging your fingers into the dark mud you try and push yourself up onto your arms, you stumble and fall back into its wet mass soon however, resting there, head pressed into the dirty ground you spot it, just an arm's length away from you, resting there like some sort of giant fly on a dead corpse, beckoning you closer, closer to what? .. Victory.. pain..dea- you push away the thinking and reach out for it, grasping your tired fingers around its bulk, pulling it close to your chest, now was not the time.

Now armed you turn your attention towards the boy on boxes - ignoring the pain for now you crawl slowly towards them, trying your damnest not to move your leg as it drags over the ground, it takes you several moments before you are close enough - resting on top of the plain steel boxes carrying the mark of the Imperial guard - and the aquila he rests, arms hanging down on the sides - you can't see him from down here, but a quick tug drags his torso down over the edge - nearly falling over you. Looking the boy over, his tongue hanging out of his mouth.. it would seem he's alive if his breathing is to take any clue... Still, he's knocked out cold if he did not wake when you poked him in the eye, at least it means both your guns where not .. that, thing the teacher used.

Still, you need a plan

You grit your teeth, realizing however that staying on the ground won't do you much good... if you intend to get anywhere the first thing you need to do is stand up - its just like the time you fell down from the secondary lift to the Plasma cooling chambers so many years ago and got that nasty scar on your right calf, standing up is the most important thing right now otherwise you might get stuck like this, and if another silly boy shows up, they might shoot you again... using the crates for leverage you begin the slow motion of standing up, ignoring the shooting pain as your knee drags across the ground you flex your arms and slowly gain ground, inch by Inch you raise, its about halfway up your knee hits a rock and you lurch forward in pain, banging it into the box and falling flat over them with a inward scream, feeling what remains of your lunch gaging upward you try and blink away the tears, adrenalin pumping in your system your vision begins to swim, going more on instinct and animal urging then any higher thinking you try again, this time it goes better and you manage with the help of the boxes to stand up tall - your bad leg still lame however.. you don't trust putting weight on it just yet.

But you are upright! You almost feel like you can hear uncle Eric congratulating you from behind.. but he's not there... none of them are.

Your alone, with your gun.

.. And the boys gun, as you raise up another of the black twisted things, pushing it in into your jacket, holding it stuck between your chest and the buttons, having no pockets big enough yet - and indeed no free hand, as one is firmly planted on the wall behind the boxes.

>What do we do now?

Inspect knee. Your knee is Emperor's property, and misusing it is heresy. You have to maintain yourself properly.
>also, get mech implants

>>26698087
Wait on boxes, gather self. Try to position so that we're hidden from the oncoming side of the trench, and looking at the side we came from. Inspect knee while keeping an awareness of our surroundings.
>>
>>26698121

Why are we obsessed with forcing the use of a clearly damaged part of our body without visually inspecting the damage?

Even a basic instruction on wounds would tell us to only force the use of an injured limb if the situation was life or death. Surely we've had someone tell us this between our apparent injuries in the past or schooling

You shake your head, you need to look at how messed up your leg is... there is no shaking it, the pain is horrid, but unless you've seen how bad it is... You've dreaded it - images of bone white knee caps comes to mind, scared burnt flesh - they fill your mind as you look down towards the injury... having no real way of cutting it open you do the next best thing, grabbing your pant legs - and tug it upwards, sending a massive wave of pain up your leg - almost making you trip - "Damn it, this will hurt" you think to yourself, your tongue swollen, and your throat dry as a desert - deciding it must be like pulling of a band aid you lean further down on the leg and tug it upwards the pain reminds you of burning - but worse, you keep tugging however, your knuckles whitening from the force you put on the grip, feeling that you can't pull much more, your knee's mass getting in the way you grasp around either side of the hard cloth and pull it over the knee, leaning your head into the air while sitting down hard on the boxes.

Steeling yourself for a moment - horrid images of flayed flesh and horrid gaping wounds flashing through your mind - how you wished you did not see that Imperial Victory #145 holo despite Aunt telling you off.. Looking down however.. you look over your own knee.. its red, and very swollen.. but not bleeding - nor broken.

Sitting down, you don't feel quite as bad as before.. and instead of only intense pain begin to feel an itch coming from the middle of your knee... You should not be touching it. So you resist the urge. No need to poke your own wound - only will make it worse. A-yup, not touching it. Not scratching that itch. Nuh-uh, not by the emperors shin you'll poke that big red swollen cube that is your knee.

Your hand descends and gives it a scratch - right in the middle.

The pain afterwards leaves you in tears, and for the first time so far you manage a proper scream, hollering your pain for the world to know your hand flies away from the swollen knee like a finger from a hot induct-non isolated steam pipe exiting the primary core. That hurt quite bad - but you think the itching is fading. Still, it appears not moving the leg reduces the pain by quite a lot, and looking the knee over from the side shows that only the direct area around it is actually red and irritated.. a wiggled of your toes inside your comfortable steel-toed boots confirms it, its just your knee hurting.

You decide to quickly continue the study of your leg - trying to determine its true status - trying to bend it is possible.. but sends an shiver of great pain up your spine, almost making you burst into tears - using your arms to bend it hurts equally bad, but you can do it - it would seem nothing is broken.

You decide the best thing for now is to remain put - your leg hurts like the mother of all hurt you doubt even the emperor himself could move easily with this pain - the gun this boy used probably was overturned or something, still - fortifying your area would be hard - there is a total of three crates, perhaps if you pushed one forward you could hide between all three and the wall? You'd have to kick the boy down on the ground of course, then again he did shoot you, so you don't feel to bad over the whole deal as you push him on the ground gritting your teeth you lean backwards and grip the crate with a hand hoping to tip it over - its harder then you'd imagine... the crates are rather heavy, groaning as you twist onto your good leg to use both your hands you grip the edge towards the wall and pull it inward, at first it does not move - but soon enough it begins to slip towards you, digging into the ground - as it tips closer it soon becomes to much for you to stop as it completely tips over with a bang, now with space - you crawl towards the newfound hole, swinging into it with the dexterity of a child, making sure to avoid putting weight on your leg.

Its comfortable enough inside, as you begin to relax and flex your muscles in cycle, to avoid stiffness, its not that hard - your used to being cramped, it was almost like hiding from uncle Eric in hide N' seek onboard The Rangers Talent. it puts a smile on your face as you settle in, making sure to secure your bad leg tight(a series of movement that sends a whine to your lips) while keeping your body supported partially supported on the other - you could pop up out of nowhere now! Gripping the... gun between your hands(also taking the time to push the boys gun deeper into your jacket - rather not lose it when popping up) you settle in to wait. Moments begins to tick by as you explore the hard black metal piece between your fingers, feeling every twist and ridge in its form, sweeping your thumb over the aquila over and over as if ritual prayer with a series of beads.

Several moments begins to slip by... outside you can still make out the crack of laz - it seems the rest are still in fighting.. How long have it been, ten minutes? Twenty.. an hour? You doubt that teacher is going to keep to the lesson limit of four hours at all....

>Suddenly you hear a sound, its clear to make out - that sickening crack of laz, followed by boys hollering, its getting closer, but you can't decide just how closer they are... are they in your part of the trench already...? Is it safe to look up?

He would make a good distraction, if we prop him up somewhere nearby he'll be the first thing someone shoots at giving us a few precious seconds to plug them.
>>
>>26699267
Take deep breaths, listen closer to the noises, they probably aren't here quite yet. Wait a bit longer, we'll pop out when they least expect it, after they have already looked around and have determined this place to not be dangerous.
>>
>>26699267
Hollering? Sounds like a rowdy horde. Get second pistol ready, wait until they're nearly on top of us. Then, spring up and unleash (non-fatal) hell. Preferably with a crazed warcry.
>>
>>26699267
Deep breath, check outside. If they are in a horde and come across Otto while she's hiding, she can't do much - might get one or two in surprise attack, but will eventually get hit. Relying on being lucky and them passing us by is very unreliable.

You take a deep breath, licking your lips as you grasp instinctively harder around your gun, praying that they won't see you behind your boxes. Moments ticks by as the cracking gets louder - and the yells become more coherent "Shoot him!" - "No, you crack him off!" you flex your good leg, feeling your breath speed up in anticipation.. this was not a completely bad feeling, there was a slight buss to the events unfolding a bustling around your ears, you'd never quite felt like this before... like the world around you became so much clearer... you could not quite place it, but the air seemed to taste of something.. the colors around you more vivid. Another lick across your lips, another flex.

"Hey guys - look, someone is down"

"Hey, screw him man - those guys still behind us, nobody around - fething guard that wall alright? I'll go check if he's still got a gun, mines almost dry"

You decide its time - from what you can make out they are coming from the left... and someone is approaching, fast judging by the quickness of the footstep, closing you eyes for a moment you try and judge the distance - something you'd become good at from time spend onboard a ship, being able to hear how far away something was often much more useful then seeing it since most things where behind walls or massive steel gates... One step.. two steps - taking a deep breath you spring up like a jack-in-the-box, gun already in shooting position, you stumble slightly however - misjudging your center, in panic you see the boy before you - his gun in one hand handing from the side, his face filled with enough pimples to populate a hive... Nikkobars friend...

You shoot, pressing down on the guns trigger for the second time, feeling the weapon jolt in your hand hearing the distinct crack - seeing the faded ray of light passing the boy and hitting the wall behind him with a bang, sending up a shower of dirt.

The second crack however gets him before he can get reach for his gun straight in the belly, your finger going out and in again, and a third shot flies of with a "crack", getting his shoulder - giving his already descending body a spin.

You see his friend of in the distance, wide eyes looking at you - he's raising his gun!

Majority found, first to three rolls - Side note: Do you want the DC of each of the things in the future? As in Easy, Medium, Hard?

You take a moment, trying to point the laz towards his center, the first boy went down with a blast to the chest right? A split second, a breath - then you press the guns trigger once and with a fiz the gun awakens, a slight jolt in your hand followed by that distinct crack, the flowing red line - your eyes however are widen in disbelief - the boy have raised his gun, and he's shooting already. You don't as much see it as you feel it. A sinking feeling as you are thrown back towards the box behind you, pain shooting through your leg as it is forced to keep your weight up for a split second before you collapse, by luck more then anything taking the brunt of the fall with your good knee - all air knocked out of your lungs you feel yourself incapable of breathing a burning feeling deep in your chest - opening your mouth, yet nothing comes in - no matter how hard you try. Your eyes begin to dim... darkness envelop you.

Panic.

Did the boy destroy your lungs?

Is your chest open?

Oh god your going to die, just like that - die here, in the mu-

Suddenly, as a servitator kicking alive after being dormant your lungs manage to gather up a tiny amount of air, slowly it begins to return, your alive... your chest feels rather nasty, but, its not hurting anywhere as bad as your knee... and you are still conscious, grabbing a crate edge - and with some clever use of your good leg manage to get you into position where your head pokes up above the boxes.... you can barely see him, but he's there - on the ground.. he's not moving.

What do we do now?

You groan, letting your leg give in and sliding your arm down the side of the crate, breathing heavily you begin to inspect your chest as your bum falls flat on the ground bellow you - your bad knee already forced into bending, it was painful - but its dulled oddly - actually, most of your body feels dull, your thoughts however are speeded, the same feeling of your entire system going on over a hundred percent remains. The blast seem to have burned a hole in it, pocket - just above your hearth.. it was the place you kept your data slate... feeling inside you feel it, its still there - hot to the touch. Pushing towards it hurts, you presume its bruised bellow, craning your neck you try and look inside - you are greeted by the ruined inside of your slate.

The machine spirit inside it saved you...

Sacrificing itself to allow you to continue, none carrying it gave its life for you despite its humble nature, you've had it since ages past and the images of all the times you casually flicked it open, disregarded it on your bed comes flowing to your forbrain...

Pushing away the boys gun resting just bellow your neck tucked in between buttons you stroke it gently while removing it - ignoring the shudder of pain.

Its a wreck.. the screen ruined, you feel your lips parting and tears forming behind your eyes - this was the slate your uncle gave you, the last reminder besides your heavy steel boots of The Rangers Talent, and old friend, ruined.

Ruined, its empty black screens seem pleased with itself.. as if giving its life was good enough...

You push the slate into your chest, hugging the gun in your other as you raise, ignoring the pain shooting through your body as you push your weight down on your wounded leg - bitting down hard you slide over the edge of the crates, lumbering forward, supporting your stumbling form on the wall - your gun pressed hard into the muddy wall. You mange a few stumbling steps on your hurt knee before you are forced to start hopping, the pain becoming to much - but this time, you don't care as you feel the data slate under your fingers, the trip is swift - your vision tunneling in on the boy on the ground - face down in the mud... you don't recognize him. But he was with Nikkobars pimple friend - no doubt another oaf. Pushing your back into the wall you raise your gun, lowering it towards his back.

Crack.

Crack...

Crack...

Breathing heavily you lover the gun to your side, peering up into the sky closing your eyes, tears flowing "Why..?"

Your tears are interrupted by your mind screaming at you, something coming - your not sure which of your sense detected it first - but sure as dawn there is something upcoming from behind you - their voices yelling at each other "Oi, you think they're gone?" "Shit it - I be hearin' crackin'" Hidden from sight by the sharp turn of the trench they appear to be just around the corner in the next section... and they've not seen you yet.

You feel your tongue rush across your lips, tasting the air around you like some perverted mutant, you feel a pang of reluctance for a moment as you question the decision you are about to make - your body have already endured two of the blast, and its just a silly game right? You could always just.. lie down, pretend to be hit - wait for the teacher to round people up, get sent to the medicaes - perhaps you'll meet Angelina there? It would be nice.. no more of this silly fighting in the mud. Relaxing slightly you feel your data slate slipping from your grasp, and you tighten around it, feeling the harsh interior where the protection around it had failed.

No.

Pushing yourself to the very edge of the cut you wait - listening, despite the odd flowing sound filling your ears you can hear them well enough, not what they are saying - low whispering to one and another, but you sure hear that they are talking. And that they are getting closer, with the black gun in your hand you wait... one breath - two, three. Then you make your move - around the corner you go, swinging around with your good leg, a arm on the wall for support - most of your body hidden behind the wall. The other arm stretched out as you unload, the cracks flow as you spray the corridor down - hosing it with the burning bright fire without a care in the world - these fethers can all burn! Heretics the lot of them! Its not until you notice both boys down on the ground that you lower your arm again... breathing heavily as you peer over their bodies.. unmoving on the ground, smoke billowing from one of them.

That felt good.

>>26701362
You don't feel up to the task of looking through every single on of the downed kids - especially since a few of them are rather exposed, still - the once in your section of the fort are on the way back, you contemplate dragging them for added protection but the idea of leaving the walls support sends a shiver up your spine - still, looking over the boys "corpses" you find that one of them had a small knife in his pocket - which for now, you decide to liberate, it might come in handy with the way you keep getting shot up - having no clue about the energy level of your gun (and remembering the one boy talking about running low you also swap your gun out.. but you keep it around for now, just.. tucking it away inside your jacket.

You stay silent.. listening.. its quiet, no sound of Laz cracking, no sudden spikes of voices screaming in pain, another moment passes and nothing - are you the last one "alive?" - None of the boy have moved so far so you are guessing taking a full blast knocks you out fairly good, then again - you did shoot most of them more then once. Your knee is feeling slightly better, rest probably did it good. So you exit the crates, wobbling to the right - from where you came, grunting as you hop forward using the wall for support, retracing your step takes you time as you take a lot longer getting around the many corners you took while entering the ditch. This time however, your hand is firm on your gun, and that might have saved your life. Its just a shadow, on top of the trench in the corner of your eye, you swing around, gun in hand.

Well, well.
"Crack" - the gun sounds from your hand your entire being balancing on a razor edge you seem to move faster then you've ever done before, pulling the trigger by pure instinct even before you've got any clear vision of the target you gun unloads its payload at the shadow before your mind register the large gun resting across its chest - or the surprised look on his face as he crashed into the trench - you can't say you recognize the man in question.. for that is not a boy - but rather a full grown man, dressed up in combat clothing - he hits the ground with a "thud" your eyes widen as you realize the impact of what you just did.. you knocked out a soldier! An adult!

The teacher is going to kill you for this!

Stretching out an arm towards him futile, for you can't really move away from the wall easily you are interrupted by laughter, looking up you notice two adults with wide grins looking down at you "Hey missy, you got him good, you alright? 80k's allright, but it's main problem is that playing a non-Imperial army gives you massive nerfs. I mean, come on. A global -5 to all stats for not following the Imperial Creed makes all the xenos and heretic armies worthless!

Your gun pointing towards the largest of the two you remain silent for a moment... this could be a trick - you'd not put it past that teacher sending adults after you.. he'd do it, he gave out a real gun after all, nuts - planet people are all crazy, and you've had enough - still, what if practical was over? "Prove it" you stutter wobbling slightly as you push your weight towards the wall behind you - the two men look at you surprised for a moment before one of them - the shorter that spoke to you before gives a good chuckle "Eh, 'tis one be gettin' commisons I tell yah Broski" he says, giving his comrade a slap on the back "Here lassy, see this? Mark o' the emperor, swear by it" he continues, patting the aquila branded on his cuff

You relax at this, slowly lowering your gun as the two men climb into the trench "Still, ye got blasted good lass, you'll need a momma hug after that" the larger of the two states as he steps up to you - offering his arm for support. "'I a-am alright, my leg hurts though and there's a pile of unconscious students back there.. you might want to help those.."

The two of them exchanges looks quickly before the shorter goes "Well, I best be gettin' em sorted alright? - Broski, take her out will yah? Dirtfarm 03 remember? Exit just over south-by-south"

"Aye, I remember - come on lass"

The two of you begin walking towards the right, supporting your weight the taller man leads you through the trench, and you feel yourself tired - more so then you've ever been before, towards the end of your journey your fairly certain he's half carrying you, still - before long you are lead up a dirty, short-cut staircase leading to the surface proper, stumbling slightly in the darkness - the planets large moons giving slight light from above you continue towards the gathering place

"I'm Schulte. What's your name?" you manage to push out as the two of you make your way through the dirty ground - the question hangs in the air for a moment before the tall man rumbles back: "Broskivanian, you can call me broski" "Did.. anyone get killed broski..?" He nods at that, smacking his lips "Two, one lil' girl and a boy with red hair - Can't say I understand com', getting you firsties a flasher, still get your act together we are soon there" - and true to his words you enter the same area you came from - several kids that you recognize from earlier are all seated around on dragged up boxes or on the ground, carried after by a group of white clad women, some sporting large third mechanical arms sticking out of their back - Broski leads you to an empty box, and you are soon finding yourself on the receiving end of a medical exam, the woman poking your legs making you cry out in pain - asking silly questions like "Does this hurt?" before starting to apply some manner of bandage. As you turn to say thank you to Broski he's already left... making you feel sort of alone all of a sudden. Gun still in your grasp you let his words sink in,

A girl.

You have not seen Angelina yet.

Groaning slightly as a your knee stings while the medica works with wrapping it up in the bandage - its not.. that painful, actually it feels better once she's started applying the brown cloth, slightly revived you mange to ask her as she works, noting the large mechanical arm lazily moving around the air near your face "Excuse me, but - if one needed to repair a data slate.. where would one go..?" The woman tightens you bindings while starting to secure it in place using some manner of white sticky goop and does not look to you while talking "Tower, there's some cogboys working there - just toss in your data slate and you'll get a new one most of the time, if they are in a good mood, now - feel dizzy?" You shake your head, your feeling alright actually.. being out of that hole sure helped "Good, drink plenty of water - and give a prayer tonight for a speedy recovery and you'll be fine" - She moves away at this, sitting down by another kid to your left leaving you alone to think for a moment.

You can't really seem to find Angelina among the crowds, but as you are seated there for a longer time, gun resting in your lap you are greeted by a hand on your shoulder - looking up at her familiar face you give a slight smile, its your friend - her face is covered in dirt but she still manages a smile "You alright schulte?" "Yeah...How about you?"

"I am fine, I was trained in firearms back on.. oh it does not matter, practical is over either way, if your patched up, we might as well leave, teacher set up a table to leave guns over there..."

>How do we respond?

Prattle on and exchange experiences. How the practical went for her? You totally took out five boys and an adult.
>>
>>26703115
Give her a hug.

Then put the guns back on the table, and head back with Angelina.

Tell her all about our experience, our fort of awesome, and how we took out 5 kids and an adult.

>>
>>26703191
Because we'd be in a lot of trouble if they'd find out, that's why.
>>
>>26703115
Ask how she fared out there. Stick a bit closer than usual when walking back, for comfort.

Ponder how to get your old dataslate repaired rather than a new one
>>
>>26703204
Also, we're not entirely clear on hug protocol so it's better play it safe. In fact, let's change that to a friendly pat on the shoulder.
>>
>>26703115

Now is the time for silent introspection. A lot of things have happened, and the middle of combat was not the ideal time to process them...

For now, nod silently and follow Angelina back. The night will be spent in mild shock, along with what is most likely going to be nightmare infested sleep scene or not is yet to be seen. Maybe Schulte will be ready to talk about it in the morning... maybe if she deals with it sufficiently, jokes can be made...
But I expect the shock to last at least for the next few days, possibly the week assuming she does not end up doing that lesson for it's duration...

You smile, noding as you stand up - as you nearly fall over she quickly offers a hand on your shoulder "T-thanks" - giving you support the two of you head towards the nearby table "So, how did it go for you?" you ask, as the metal pieces leaves your hands, returning them to the table. "Me? Oh, not to bad, I did not get his, took out three boys as they charged me, then I laid low" you nod, and exhange the glorious tale of fort schutlte and the boys (and adults) then fell before you as the two of you make your way towards the schola. The rest of the day remains a bit of a blur in your memory - a dinner consistant of some very odd "Montils & Cream" which much like the food so far on the planet was rather good (Angelina manged to help you through the crowd despite your leg) followed by a lecture in Imperial language which - while you did want to take notes for.. did not have a slate to do before you headed back to the room you'd been asigned, dead beat you crashed into your bed that evening, ignoring to remove your clothing, sleep overtakes your dazed mind quickly as you fall into the darkness of the dream world.

looks good. might want to watermark the background image, if only to make the actual unlocks stand out more, maybe coloured boarder rings to denote locked, unlocked and purchased?

With your current layout, it looks like Ranged and Melee cannot have overlapping abilities... If this is not the case, have you considered either a triangular tree?

also; Nightmares? do we see them, or do they just happen? It could make for a good Omake as the player would not have any choices due to the non-reality of dreams and nightmare... good for foreshadowing, suggesting at repercussions of actions and general adding of character depth... but that is just my take on it...

Been following since thread 1, though I don't post that often.

This really isn't a question to you as it is to everyone; what is the general consensus on the pace of the plot? I mean, we've finished only just finished our first day - and it took us 11 threads.

On one hand, I like the close-up view of Schulte's life and her daily thoughts, fears and experiences. Yet at the same time, by the time we actually graduate it could be thread 300.

Thoughts fellow players?
>>
>>26703585
Probably going to try that - and Marksmen and melee will probably have overlapping abilites - I was thinking of letting it simply be that if you move to far towards the edge of Marksmen - you get kicked into Melee, sorta deal like if the entire thing was on a globe. Also nightmares? Expect worse then that down the line, this is derphammer after all. But yes, I will incorporate dream sequences down the line probably, I like typing away at "what if scenarioes", besides its an easy enough plothook that allows me to insert simple ideas of the characters health to you all, and who's not to say you aint a psyker and all you dream of is true? Dun-dun-duuuhn

>>26703643
I am actually also interested in this, I could speed things up if players would rather advance faster - for now I am going at "my pace" which might not be the best.
>>
>>26703643
I dunno, I like it. Hell, I wouldn't mind if we didn't even play as graduated Otto.

That said, I think it would be very easy for WHN to timeskip over most of the more mundane classes and even the physical trainings now that our traumatic first day is over.

tldr - Things could speed up now that we have set the tone and probably should, but its cool if they don't.,

I also like how we if this quest was a show or movie, Shultte would be the weird, social misfit that is oddly competent at a few key activities side character to the graceful, noble, formally trained princess protagonist that is Angelina. Its kinda fun being the sidekick.
>>
>>26703643
I can't help but like it, mostly. Like you said, I love the detail of it. We're going through every little trial, really gets us attatched to the character. And there is a certain appeal in having an epic-length thread.

But yeah, could be a long while before we get to the Commissar stuff. Though the QM said there would be minor-ish time-skips, so hopefully it'll all work out.
>>
>>26703795
epic length quest, I meant
>>
>>26703762
>>26703795
Oh yeah, angelina - she was interesting rolling up for sure. When-ever I create a character I tend to also give them a backstory - and a few "hidden" things that you don't know about. I also try very hard to maintaine them as living breathing beings - I mean, they are NPC's as such they are built to forward the story in the end - but when ever I think of the NPC's be it in DM'ing or QM'ing I try and ask "What would they do?" - would for instance angelina seek you out afterwards? Probably. For as much as we talk about needing her, she's equally depending on us - she's probably feeling very liberating talking to someone that does not understand the term "lady" and the stigma that comes with her being where she is, and someone that is a 100% sure not to know her last name, or her history - that even swore not to talk about it.

As for timeskips: Yeah, I'll probably skip a head a bit here and there - like now, I probably will introduce you straight tomorow becouse I want to toss some exposition at you, and deal with tonighs drama after which we'll probably skip a head a week or so, depending on how long I'll think it would take for something interesting to happen - perhaps we'll schedual something cool next thread? I usually don't plan but the most basic stuff out in advance after all.
>>
So, I notice there's an Administratum presence in The Tower...

Want to go face the big bads next time? We'll be there anyway when we're seeing about the dataslate.
