You are Christopher Phillips, previously just another teenage nerd living in a small English town, and a lot of things have changed in your life since you died.

This latest change is a little baffling. You were expecting anger, maybe some important deception uncovered. You weren’t expecting laughter, and the peculiar shade of red that Miranda’s face has turned. You’re missing something here.

Miranda – Miss White – is your History teacher, your best friend Jill’s aunt, and a very interesting lady – and not just because she can move things with her mind. You’ve been helping her out in sorting through the previous History teacher’s notes and setting up lesson plans; in convincing Jill to move away from her mother’s oppressive teachings and embrace a more hedonistic lifestyle; and in other, more… physical ways. She was uncharacteristically evasive when you suggested introducing her to your girlfriend, Avril, though. Avril has spotted disguised things before – apparently seeing through glamours comes naturally with being a Fae – and you were suspicious of her sudden shift in behaviour, so you dropped by her office with Avril in tow. Once the door opened, however, things got kind of weird.

Avril is still looking back and forth between you and Miss White and laughing uncontrollably, clutching her sides. Miranda has an awkward blush and a pained expression. She hasn’t said anything since greeting Avril with “Hi babe. Long time no see.”

There’s no-one else in the History classroom right now, but Avril’s not laughing particularly quietly and sooner or later someone’s going to stick their head in to find out what’s so funny.

[]Ask Avril what’s going on. Assuming you can get her to stop laughing for long enough.
[]Ask Miranda what’s going on. She’s clearly been keeping something from you.
[]Oh no, you’re staying out of this one. Keep quiet and let Avril and Miranda resolve whatever their history is between them.

“Okay, Miranda. I think I need a few answers here. What’s the history between you and Avril? Why were you so evasive about meeting her? And what on earth is so funny?”

Miranda avoids your eyes. “Um, it’s really kind of a long story. Let’s get into my office and we’ll talk, okay?”

She steps back and lets the two of you into her office, Avril collapsing into a free chair and wiping her eyes as she tries to stop laughing. You lock the door behind you – this is going to be a conversation you don’t want people walking in on.

“Avril, babe, are you okay?”

Avril grins. “Oh, yeah. It’s just that you and Chris - and then Jill thought - and I didn’t even -” She bursts out laughing again.

“Okay, so it seems my darling princess is going to be a bit too busy to explain things for a while,” Miranda sighs. “I’d better start at the top. Jill’s mother and I are actually half-sisters. We have the same mother, but her father was human and mine, well, wasn’t.”

Avril stops laughing, and sits up straight in her chair. “Hold on, you actually are Jill’s aunt? I thought this was just Father keeping tabs on me. And you having a little fun on the side, of course.”

Miranda glares at Avril. “Jill is important to me. She’s the only human relative I have who I have a hope of saving. I came here originally for her.”

Avril pauses and frowns. “That’s one hell of a weird coincidence. And there’s no such thing as a coincidence.”

“I hadn’t thought of it that way. You’re right, of course. Damn. Okay, we’ll work on that later. For now, I believe I was telling a story.”

“Once I came of age in Fae terms, my father came to find me. He explained about my heritage, my rights by bloodline, how he could take me somewhere I’d be free of my family and their beliefs. I didn’t believe him at first, but the things he showed me just couldn’t fit in with what they’d told me.”

“I left with him, and he took me to the Court of Spring, his home. I learned about all the secrets of the world I’d been missing. I learned all the pleasures the world could offer me. And because I was half-human and had grown up in that world, I was assigned as a tutor for the King’s young daughter.”

Avril grins. “As I recall, the first thing you said to me was ‘Hello, little girl, do you know where the Princess is?’ ”

“And then you bit me.”

“Damn right I did.”

“Anyway. I taught Avril to speak English, to navigate the human world, and to use things like light switches and televisions without looking like someone who’d been raised in a forest. Once she came of age… well.” Avril grins and licks her lips.

“We were quite fond of each other, and things developed fairly naturally, but there was never a deep romantic connection. I was given a trading post that involved spending a lot of time away from court, and that made us drift apart further – probably her father’s intention in giving it to me. And that’s about all there is to the story.”

Avril sighs. “You’re missing out the most interesting part on purpose. Do you want me to tell Chris instead?”

Miranda flushes a distinctly different red. “That’s not really relevant right now, is it? We’ve got far more important matters to discuss. Like this strange coincidence of us all ending up meeting like this.”

[]“Miranda’s right, we need to work out what’s going on there.”

And a good question would be "is the level of supernatural activity here out of the ordinary?"
We've the the Fae Court, the Ice King, a Corruptor, Isabella's cult which potentially included a vampire and werewolf under her control, Zack's lycanthropy, the Hunters, us, and a possible Church of Dagon presence, with Masami as a definite Deep One.

Which makes me wonder, if this is normal, imagine how active a city's supernatural scene must be.
That brings up the question of supernatural law enforcement; is there one, and do we have to get Registered?
Is it closer to Harry Dresden, or The Laundry Files?

I'd find it immensely entertaining if during a fight SCORPION STARE activated and immensely fucked up whoever we were fighting.
>>
>>26900623
"Miranda's right. That seems like a pretty weird coincidence - and it's not the only one, there's been a lot of other strange supernatural stuff going on lately."

Avril pouts. "Fine, whatever. I'm not sure how much I can contribute to unravelling this, though - I picked this school myself, so unless someone's got right into my head, I don't have any leads."

"That's a possibility, but hopefully it's simpler than that. Did you pick this place at random, or did you get a shortlist of good choices from someone?"

Avril pauses and thinks. "I did ask my mother and father to draw up a list of places that would be small, out of the way and close to nature. You think they rigged the list?"

"It wouldn't be too hard to do," Miranda replies with a nod. "And I tracked down Jill's location with the help of the Court's resources. Timing it so that we arrived close together would just be a matter of running me around in circles until you were ready to go."

Avril turns to you. "That just leaves one unexplained factor. How did my father know what would happen to you? I've never so much as heard of powers like yours. But there's no way I'd have met Jill on my own, without you to introduce us."

Miranda leans in, tapping her finger on the desk. "I might well have been the intended link. Once I found out my favourite pupil was in town I'd have got in touch with you, and you'd have met Jill through me. And then you get the bodyguard your father apparently feels you need."

You blink and interrupt, "Wait a second. That whole business with the Hunt and Jill being put under a geas, that was all set up in advance? What happened to your father being inhuman and not thinking like we do?"

Avril shakes her head. "He may not have the same sort of goals or motivations as you or me, but he's had thousands of years of practice at manipulating humans. I'm not remotely surprised that he'd pull something like this."

“Okay, but what about me? And what about all the other weird stuff going on? Isabella, the Corruptor, and the Winter King and Masami and Zack? Is this normal, for a little country town like Barrellton?”

Miranda shakes her head. “There’s definitely something strange going on in this town. I’ve been stronger since I arrived – I can move a pen almost as well as if I were holding it now. Jill’s lived here her whole life, and I saw her throw a dagger with her mind so hard it punched straight through a deer’s torso and out the other side. And she’s a 16-year-old girl just coming in to her powers. There’s vastly more energy in the area than there should be, and I don’t know why. I’m a teacher, not a mage, this sort of thing is way outside my area of expertise. Avril, do you know anything?”

“Um…” Avril shakes her head. “I haven’t noticed much of a change in my abilities, I guess, but… there was a weird sort of static in the air a few weeks ago, though. The day I first met you, Chris. I definitely felt a big unleashing of magical power. A group of sorcerers, maybe? Must have been doing something big.”

“Wait, on the day –“ you start to ask, but Miranda cuts over you. “As fascinating as this is, lunchtime’s nearly finished, and I have to teach a class soon. We’ll pick this up later, at mine. Are you free tonight?”

“I am,” Avril replies, “but Chris has a date with Jill. How about I come over and lay a few things out for you, and we’ll get Chris in on it later?”

Miranda grins. “That sounds lovely. We’ll lay a few things out together, and I think Chris will definitely enjoy hearing about it. Now, off to class, the both of you.”

You sit down next to Masami, smiling at her and James. "Hi - I'm not interrupting, am I?"

"No, it's fine. James and I were just discussing the dance - it's less than two weeks to go now. We both still need to find someone to go with us, though."

James chuckles. "Masami suggested that we go together, but, ah, our styles might clash a little. I think we'd both prefer a big strong man on our arm, and neither of us fits that description very well. What about you, Chris, do you have a date?"

Masami giggles, and drops her voice to a whisper. "Chris has two dates. Jill told me. Her and Avril."

"Oh, I see." James gives you a conspiratory grin. "Well, then. I guess that leaves more boys for the rest of us, doesn't it?”

“Yeah, yeah. So how are things going between you and Ajani, anyway?”

James scowls. “Slowly enough. Gloria spends far too much time around him for my liking. Anyway, weren’t you supposed to be talking to him?”

“I’ve got a lot on my plate at the moment, okay? I’ll get round to it before the dance.”

“Hmmph.” James seems a little mollified for now, but still uneasy. Masami tries to change the subject to interesting cartoons, but neither of you have heard of any of her recommendations, although James does mention he’s interested. Masami invites him to stop by her flat if he wants to borrow a few. It seems like she’s definitely forming some nice friendships.

“Hey, Chris, you should come watch some cartoons with me too. I’ve got a whole library of them, in English translations as well as the original Japanese. Maybe tonight?”

“Oh, uh, I’ve sort of got a date tonight. Maybe if I have time tomorrow.”

“Okay. Sure, no problem. I can wait.” Masami sounds a little down, but you can’t really blow off Jill to go watch cartoons with her.

Is there anything else you’d like to talk to them about?
>>
>>26902250
Did either of them notice anything weird a few weeks back?
Specifically when our powers awakened and Avril felt the static in the air.

We need to find time to talk to Ajani for James (though I don't think Ajani even swings that way), and we need to watch anime with Masami, while still spending time with Jill, Avril, and Miranda. And then there's Zack, the Ice King, and Isabella.

Maybe we should concentrate on Jill, Avril, Miranda, and Masami until after the dance.

"Hey, uh, this might sound weird, but... did either of you notice anything weird three or four weeks back? Like, kind of a static-y thing. On a Sunday, maybe?"

James shrugs. "Dude, I have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry. It was only about two weeks or so ago that Ajani and I really started working together on the whole..." He pauses, then glances at Masami. "Uh, wait, how much does she know?"

Masami scowls. It's an odd expression on her normally shy and reticent face. "I know a great deal more than you do. And yes, I think I know what Chris is talking about. A ripple in the firmament, like a rock dropped into a pond, yes?"

"Uh... yeah, probably. Do you have any idea what might be behind it?"

Masami shrugs. "It could be any number of things. It felt... weird. Unfamiliar. But everything around here is kind of unfamiliar to me anyway."

James is now giving Masami a very sidelong look. "Okay. Anyway. I can ask Ajani and Gloria if they felt anything - they're the two people in the group with the most mystic mojo. If they start drawing connections, though, they'll want to look into it themselves. Up to you whether you want to involve them, it's all the same to me."

"I'll think about it. I ought to talk to each of your group of friends alone at some point anyway."

James shrugs. "Esther will probably be somewhere in the school library at lunch even if the others aren't. Ajani's dad owns a martial arts school of some sort, attached to the gym on the south side of town. Gloria... hell if I know." He shrugs again. "Sorry, but she's not exactly the sharing type. You could ask Ajani, though. Louie hangs around the community pool."

"Hey, that's a thought. Masami, you still need a date for the dance, right?"

"Um, yes. I don't... wait, this Louie guy?"

James grins. "Chris, you're a genius. I'll grab him later and tell him he's asking Masami out tomorrow."

You sort out some nice clothes from your wardrobe - not the ones you wore to meet Avril's parents, on the grounds Jill might have some bad associations with that outfit - and make a note to get to the bookstore early and pick out a nice bookmark to give to Jill. On your way out, you stop, turn back to your room, and grab one last thing. Given how all your attempts at a date keep going, the slight weight of the dagger in the small of your back, hidden under your shirt and jacket, is oddly comforting.

You hand Jill the slim leather bookmark, with a flower stamped at the top. "I can't really give you a bouquet of real flowers, as much as I'd like to, so at least this way you'll know I'm thinking about you."

Jill gives you a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, Chris. That's really sweet of you. Now, let's get a nice stack of books I can use this with."

Jill sweeps into the store, picking out the various sections with a practised eye. Her smile is downright predatory, but, well, that's Jill and bookstores. You have to admit you're not much better yourself, as you try to balance a small stack of classic sci-fi novels in one hand so that you have one hand free to pull out more titles. By the time the staff finally usher you both out so that they can shut the shop, you think you've ended up with more individual books than Jill, but most of hers are thicker - she's more into fantasy, which comes in larger chunks. Although you suppose it's not quite so fantastical any more. You try and put the thought aside and concentrate on your date.

The restaurant staff are a little annoyed that you and Jill have large bags of books, but at least you've managed to convince Jill that this isn't the sort of place where you can read at the table. She toys with her food for a moment before looking up at you.

"So, uh, that business with Avril at lunchtime. You sort of grabbed her and ran off, and didn't come back all lunch. Were the two of you... um... you know?"

The question is how should we approach it, and how to phrase it.

Avril said that she won't lie to Jill if asked about what we're doing with Miranda, so we do need to talk it out with Jill quickly.

Either tonight, or maybe tomorrow.
The best time, I can see is when we're discussing our relationship (Jill-Chris-Avril), and say that Miranda seems to be open to relationships like that.
>>
>>26904089
You chuckle a little. "Are you getting jealous? Don't worry. I went and introduced Avril to your aunt. We had quite a bit of a discussion with her."

Jill splutters a little. "I- I'm allowed to be jealous, aren't I? I mean, you are, uh..." She trails off, blushing. "Anyway, what did you talk about with my aunt, then? Was she telling you more family history stuff?"

"Um, sort of, but the interesting thing is, she mentioned that your powers are really strong. Like, she can float pens, and that's it. She said being able to, uh, throw a knife straight through a deer at your age is pretty unusual. It might be something to do with this place having a really high concentration of weird and supernatural stuff. Oh, and Avril might be having some private lessons with her, to talk about magic and... stuff."

Jill nods. "She mentioned something about me doing private lessons with her, to train my powers and so on. I guess she can teach Avril how to help me out too?"

"Uh, more or less. I don't -"

Jill raises her hand suddenly, staring at you. "Hold on. You said she mentioned that I'm really strong because I can throw a dagger through a stag, right? Did she use that exact example?"

"Um, yeah, she did. Why?"

"Chris... did you talk to her about what happened on Sunday? Because I didn't. I still feel kind of weird just remembering it, I don't want to talk to people about it. And she can't have heard from Avril, because you only just introduced her to Avril today. So how did she know about that?"

You pause, thinking back over your conversations with Miranda since Sunday. She's right. You never brought it up. Hell. What do you say now?

At some point in this conversation we're going to have to face palm, reassure Jill that Miranda is in fact her aunt and not some changeling Fae planted by the King to keep tabs on her, and end the date prematurely so we can hook up with Miranda and Avril (calling Avril ahead to make sure Jill doesn't get the right idea about the "lessons" when we show up) and hash all this out tonight.

Why the hell did we bring Miranda into the conversation in the first place? We could have just teased Jill for being jealous, reassured her nothing happened and then moved on by changing the topic. If we were really worried about her pressing us on the topic, we could have admitted to fooling around with Avril (which would have pushed her to be more intimate with Avril, she's jealous of us, not her). I know, blood under the bridge and all that, but still /tg/. But still...
>>
>>26904696
"Uh... well, that's another thing we discussed with her, actually. She already knew Avril. Used to be her tutor."

Jill blinks. "But I thought this was the first time Avril had been to a human school?"

"Yeah. Did you know your aunt was, uh, half-Fae?"

Jill pauses, picks up her glass of water, and takes a swig. Then she sprays it all over the table. "She WHAT?"

You wipe some spare water droplets off your face. "She's half-Fae. Was that really necessary?"

"Uh, sorry. They do it on TV sometimes. It looks really dramatic."

"Right. Anyway, yeah. Her father was some sort of Fae. She was Avril's tutor on the human world - that's how come she could go to our school and not freak out over computers and mobile phones and so on. But, yeah. She might well have been at the feast somewhere, or known someone who was."

Jill pales a little. "Oh, god. She's going to think I'm some sort of monster. That deer... oh, god."

"Jill. Relax. You eat dead animals all the time."

"I don't normally kill them myself, though. And that steak... I almost think Avril has the right idea with being a vegetarian."

"Uh... something like that."

"Anyway, this isn't a very happy topic, and this is supposed to be a nice date. Are you looking forward to the school dance?"

"I - I guess I actually am. I always sort of expected to show up on my own and stand in a corner, but now that I'm going with you and Avril, it could be really nice." She smiles, her face lighting up.

"Awesome. Oh, hey, we're almost done... do you want dessert?"

"Uh, let's see... chocolate cake. Yes, yes I do."

Smiling, satisfied, and full of chocolate, the two of you walk out of the restaurant, and head almost naturally for the park, sitting down on the bench and looking up at the stars just as you did all those weeks ago. After a moment, Jill shifts awkwardly in place and turns to look at you. "Uh. Chris. Do you maybe want to..." She trails off, blushing.

I've begun work on the 1d4chan page.
http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Monsterhearts_Quest
I don't have the earlier pastebins or they'd be in there. Thinking I'm going to make a complete reading order with all threads in sequence and pastebins following their threads.

>>26905265
Damn, Chris is really not good at picking romantic date conversation.
>>
>>26905265

Give her a kiss. More than just one. Do it as much as possible, and if you get to score...
>>
>>26905337
((There was only one previous pastebin. It's http://pastebin.com/fzCdh71A and it fills in part of thread 2. Posted back in thread 3.))

((Chris has various impressive powers, but is still, at heart, the nerd who had no idea how to talk to girls that he was before his death. And some of those conversation elements may or may not be taken from real life interactions. ))
>>
>>26905265
Kiss and cuddle under the stars, I think we should let Jill lead in this relationship. Until she becomes more comfortable at least.
>>
>>26905293
Start with this. Take the lead but go slowly making sure she's comfortable and enjoying while we gradually escalate to a make out session (very much doubt we're getting beyond that tonight...unless she turns out to have some level of telepathy and starts picking up on our Hungers, pretty sure she's just telekinetic though).

>>26905337
Thank you good anon!

I thought you'd done both of the first two sex scenes with Avril?
>>
>>26905515
(( That second one, uh... never actually got finished. Sorry. And would in any case have gotten horribly repetitive very quickly, which was the problem that caused it to stall and not be finished in the first place. ))

That would explain why I never saw it then. At any rate I'd rather have more Miranda, her scenes all seem interesting so far, at least from the lead-ups.

Should I use the sup/tg/ descriptions as thread titles in the wiki or should I just number them, to prevent possible spoilers?

The descriptions don't really spoil anything, use them.

You lean in and kiss Jill gently on the lips. Then you kiss her again, more passionately this time. By the third kiss she's pushing her lips back against yours, moving over to hold you close, and you try to remember that you need to take this slower than you have with Avril... it's hard, though, when you can feel her soft body pressed up against yours.

After another deep kiss, Jill suddenly breaks away, shivering a little. "Ohhhh. That was nice, but - you're cold. It's like eating lots of ice-cream."

She looks at you, and then moves in and kisses you again. "It's really nice, though."

You keep holding Jill close, stroking her arm and touching her hand, as she starts to kiss your neck and nibble lightly on your ears - yours aren't nearly as sensitive as Avril's seem to be, but it's still nice. You slide one arm slowly down to Jill's waist and slip it under her shirt, and she jumps at the sudden touch of cold fingers on her skin, but then settles down.

"Uh, sorry, that just kind of surprised me... no, don't stop. Up a little, that's nice." You stroke Jill's back slowly, watching her shiver. It definitely seems to be the good sort of shiver, though. "Oh, god... I guess there are some advantages to this sort of thing. Kiss me again?"

You kiss Jill gently on the lips, then kiss under her chin and slowly down her neck, watching her shiver each time. When you reach the neck-line of her dress, you slide your hand up her back to rest on her bra clasp, and Jill jerks away again, her face red and flushed.

"I, uh..." She trails off for a moment, breathing heavily, then rallies her words again. "I think maybe we need to stop for tonight. If we keep going - that just feels so good, I want more and more of it, but I have to be back before curfew, and if we keep going, we'll be here all night. Won't we?"
>>

Better stop I guess.

Done.

At least for now. We can also use this to keep notes or something, and I guess we should build a character sheet for a meta section.
>>
>>26906198
"Not all night, I can make sure of that."
Set an alarm on our cellphone, and kiss her some more. But don't get too into it, because we do have to make sure she gets back before curfew.
>>
>>26906198
Well, not /all/ night but definately late. (Kiss her again then help her up) but I guess we'll just have to restrain ourselves for now. (walk back arm in arm) So next time shall qe go out all three of us do you think? Though I definately don't mind having you all to my self. You're far to cute y'know?
>>
>>26906198
"I'm not sure all night would be enough time for us (lower our hand from the clasp to her hip, fish our phone out with our other hand and check the time), but I think we do have a few minutes more."

We also have to meet up with Miranda and Avril later, so we really only do have a few more minutes. Oh, and respect boundaries, only first base tonight.

"Well, not all night. Definitely too late, though." You take your hand away from Jill's bra, fishing into your pocket and checking the time on your mobile phone. "It's okay, we have a few minutes more before you need to be heading home. So come here."

You give Jill one last, long kiss, then help her up, holding onto her hand as you start to walk her home. "That was lovely, wasn't it?" you ask her, walking along arm in arm.

"Yes, it was. Thank you so much, Chris," she replies, smiling sweetly. She's not shivering so much any more, especially since her body heat is starting to warm your arm up, but she still occasionally leans in to give you a kiss on the cheek as you walk.

"We should have a date with all three of us some time. Not that I mind having you all to myself or anything, but I know you like going out with Avril too."

Jill shakes her head. "That's what the dance is for, Chris. It's not going to be long now, and it's the last chance for proper celebration we'll have for a while. I want to make it really special."

"Okay, Jill... sweetheart. No problem."

Jill smiles, clutching your arm a little tighter. "Sweetheart. I like that. It's nice." She kisses you on the cheek again. "This is my stop..."

She's right - you've walked almost all the way to her house without noticing how the time has flown. With a heavy heart you kiss her goodnight.

It's a little before 9pm now. Where do you want to go next?

[]Go to Miranda's house. See how she and Avril are doing with 'laying things out' with each other.
[]See if you can track down one of the members of Ajani's group - his father's gym is probably closed this late at night, but the town library and the swimming pool will both still be open for a little while.
[]See if Isabella's throwing another party tonight, and whether you can crash it.
[]Just go home. It's getting late, you have school tomorrow, and you have enough on your plate already.

Avril and Miranda. This mysterious energy stuff needs to be sorted out, as it likely has a bearing on everything else we're trying to accomplish. Also, Avril and Miranda will be there.

>Miranda and Avril
We really ought to let the two of them know that we completely blew their cover and to expect some potentially awkward questions from Jill in the near future.

>[x]Go to Miranda's house. See how she and Avril are doing with 'laying things out' with each other.
And call ahead to Mom, let her know that we're going to be a bit late coming home tonight.
When she asks why, tell her we're on a date.
She knows about us and Avril, and as awesome a mom as she is, she deserves at least a heads-up that we're going to be late.
Sally Chambers died only a week ago and our sister attacked.

That's a good idea, but I feel we should give the impression we're lingering over dessert, rather than having sex. She's awesome, but let's not push our luck.

Knowing Avril and Miranda, they'll probably still be working together - or 'working' together - at Miranda's place. The first couple of knocks on the door produce no answer, and then you get a text from Avril saying 'I really hope that's you knocking on the door'. 'Yes, it's me' you reply, and the door quickly clicks open on its own.

You slip inside, shutting the door behind you, and poke your head into the living room. Avril is sprawled on the floor, totally naked, her head resting in Miranda's lap. Miranda sits cross-legged next to the table, also bare, slowly stroking Avril's hair.

Avril turns her head around to look at you, and waves. "Hey, Chris. Miranda and I had a fairly, uh, intense discussion about a lot of things, and I'm kind of... feeling too tired to get up right now, so come and sit with us." She pats the floor next to her, and you sit down.

"So, did you girls manage to get any productive work done, or were you too busy 'discussing' each other?" you ask, with careful emphasis.

"We, ah, did get a little bit of work done," Miranda replies after a moment. "The timing of a lot of these things seems to be remarkably close together - Zack's expression of lycanthropy, Jill's powers developing, whatever it was that happened to you - and we think the buildup of magical energy around here might be a recent phenomenon - or at least that it used to be high, but not nearly as high as it is now. Jill's abilities have surfaced a lot later than mine, and very abruptly. Like I said before, she's too powerful for someone who's only just developed her powers."

"Oh, speaking of that, I mentioned to Jill that you'd talked about her putting a dagger through a deer - were you at the feast on Sunday?"

Miranda nods. "I was wearing a glamour, of course, not for anonymity really so much as for fashion. I did say hi to you briefly anyway."

"Anyway, Jill might have some awkward questions about the Fae stuff."

Miranda nods. "I can handle that. Anything else?"
>>
>>26907833
"While we've got our heads together: you're both veterans of the Fae court- what's the dea with this Winter King your dad wants us taking care of? I thought as a Spring kind of person he'd be more opposed to Fall, but I guess that's neither here not there. Is the Winter King as likely as I think it is to be the same Ice King those monster-hunters have been dealing with? What should we expect from this guy? And are you guys too tired, or can I join in?
>>
>>26907833
"The local Hunters have been in a fight against the Winter King for a while; I'm getting into their good graces so that we can have some backup when Jill needs to get his crown.
"Speaking of Jill, I'm still trying to think how I should tell her about us. Any ideas?
"Oh! And mages. Do you know any? Like, can we just hire one for an assessment of what happened, like with an electrician or something?"

Take this opportunity to lightly caress both Miranda and Avril. Play with their nipples, and their holes.
>>
>>26907833

"We have troubling things to deal with, and Jill will probably be in danger. Well, not probably, but surely. Could you help her with her quests?"

"Well, we've still got to deal with the issue of Jill's quests. I think I've got a lead on the crown of the Winter King, though. I'm still trying to work out how to tell Jill about me and Miranda - any ideas? Oh, and are there any mages you know that we could ask about what's happening with this town?"

Avril pulls herself up into a sitting position. "In reverse order: yes, but none we could really trust with the full details of the problem - mages have this bad habit of stealing unusual or unique things and taking them apart for study, which would most likely include you. Not a clue, you've known her far longer than I have and I still have trouble with human notions of propriety anyway. And excellent, what do you know?"

Miranda coughs carefully. "I might have a few thoughts about explaining things to Jill. But the Winter Court business is more important."

"What's the deal with that, anyway? Wouldn't the Spring Court normally be opposed to the Autumn Court?"

Avril shrugs. "Depends on the area. My father's not the king of all Spring-aligned Fae all over the world, just those from Britain, Ireland and the rest of Western Europe. And around here Autumn don't do much at all and Summer are busy with other stuff, so it's mostly Spring vs Winter. Anyway."

"Right. So, Ajani and his group of hunters have been fighting the Winter King for a while now. He raises these zombie things, apparently, and I saw him duelling Ajani with a massive sword. He had a crown made entirely of ice, too."

Avril sits up straighter, raising an eyebrow. "The King of Winter took the field himself? Are you sure? If Ajani can fight him head on and survive, he's much more powerful than he looks. Or the King of Winter is much weaker."

"I don't know for sure, but he certainly looked like a king. Ajani might be good back-up if it comes to it."

You slide over to sit between Avril and Miranda, resting one hand in each of their laps. "What else do we know?"

((Cont.))

“Well, if that is the King of the Winter Court, he’ll be very old, very magically powerful – probably not as physically strong as my father, but more magically versatile, knowledge has always been a concept Winter laid claim to. He’ll have servants to back him up, not just zombies but a Knight, some sort of empowered mortal who does the close-in fighting while he uses his spells. He… mmm, damn it, Chris, I’m trying to concentrate. He won’t be able to back down from a direct challenge any more than my father could, although he’ll cheat like hell if he thinks he can get away with it. He’ll be bound by various pacts and laws, but finding those out could take years. I caaaah-n’t think of anything else. Especially when you do that when I’m trying to think.” Avril playfully slaps your wrist, although she doesn’t try to move your hand.

“Okay. Miranda, you were saying about explaining things to Jill?”

“Well, she – oh, you *are* a naughty boy – she’ll probably take it better once she’s learned to separate pleasure from romance, but either way emphasise that – we’re not dating, just screwing. And you’d probably better start screwing her soon, too, or she’ll be very jealous that you’re both doing me and not her. Speaking of which, are you going to start doing me any time soon or are you just teasing?”

You grin, slipping one finger deeper. “Well, I thought you might be too tired to play any more, but if you’re feeling recovered…”

“Mmm, absolutely. Avril, get those clothes off him.”

Thank you for running.

I have a (meta)question too. What skin is Miranda? I don't know if skins are tied to race, and I find it strange that Chris felt so drawn out to feed on her.
>>

I'm guessing a mix of fairy and carrie.

((Oh hey, the thread is still up. Basically, the Skins are really supposed to be PC only. When I originally started this quest I drew from a pack of pre-generated PCs I'd already done to populate the world, but the adult characters don't run off Skins in the first place. Miranda has certain elements of the Fae and the Fury, but she doesn't really use the PC rules at all. Hope that helps. ))
