You enter the vaste library of the Castle. You know this old building better than some librarians, having spent hours studying Magic on your own, between those walls. Rembering Plumbum's face when you first demonstrated the result of your hard work puts a smirk on your lips. You start rummaging the sleeves for informations about the Doomlands, and soon enough you find them.

The Doomlands were, less than fifty years ago, your average volcanic wasteland, with only the occasional monsters, bandits and wannabe-world conquerors causing troubles to neighboring countries to make them worthy of notice. All changed when, fourty years ago, a young man named Ignus Darklies decided to ascend to power, and did it. After beating all the Doomlanders into submission, he started invading and the neighboring countries, which, surprised by the sudden attack, could not defend themselves on time, and conquered them. After adding the rich and powerful realms of Cornelia, Alatar and Pallando to his territories, Overlord Darklies, as he made himself know, managed to either conquer or convince to join him a fair number of other kingdoms, lands and other countries. The Doomlands, ruled from the capital city of Dark Shard, are now the biggest Empire of the west part of the continent. Your father's kingdom is like a drop in the ocean next to this.
