"I really should get this interview delivered to the news station," Joana says apologetically as the two of you walk through the Airplane's connection tunnel. "I'm really sorry, but this interview with you is pretty much the biggest scoop I've had in my entire career."

You shrug it off. "It's fine. I can just go with you, after all. Besides, you're the one housing me, I should be the one-" you cut yourself off as the two of your emerge into the Airport terminal and stop short.

In a circle extending from the doorway that you've just come through stand a circle of men, every one of them wearing black hoods, and every one of them carrying in their hands some sort of bright blue object. Practically everything, from wrenches to brooms to baguettes, is being hefted around like a weapon.

Sitting in the center of the circle, hands behind their heads, are all the Airplane passengers who were ahead of you. Outside of the circle stands someone who is presumably the hooded guys' leader, carrying a faded grey wine bottle.

The leader gestures towards the two of you with his wine bottle. "Hands behind your head and get on the ground, you two. We don't want to hurt you none, so just do what I say and nobody gets hurt."

You quickly survey the situation. You could probably zap the hooded guys with your lightning, but it might endanger the passengers. You could just go along with the command, but who knows whether he's lying? Or you could do something else entirely.

What do you do? (Roll 1d20 with all commands. I will randomly choose one roll from the winning command to use.)

>Zap the hooded guys.
>Comply with the order.
>Dash forwards and try to steal the leaders' wine bottle.
>Other.

Recap:

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/32794188/
In Skyfall Quest 1, the sky cracked and began to fall down to earth in pieces, with each piece transforming into a random object. You are one of those pieces, previously a storm cloud, now a human by the name of Brenna McCloud with the power to shoot lightning out of her hands.

Immediately after her creation, Brenna saved an airplane from crashing, banged a reporter named Joana, got invited to the home of the reporter, in New York, and was about to step off of the plane.

You narrow your eyes. You aren't sure what exactly is going on, but it looks like that grey wine bottle that the leader is holding is some sort of weapon, based on how he's holding it and how all the other hooded guys are avoiding touching it. You decide that it would probably be for the best if you grabbed the bottle from him before he can threaten any more people with it.

As you begin your dash, you feel the electricity running through you again, but this time instead of through your hands, it's through your legs. This time, instead of concentrating, you decide to just let your powers run by instinct, and with a burst of electricity down one leg, you feel your self jetting forwards at what you're sure is close to the speed of lightning.

When you land from that first step next to the leader, he nearly jumps in surprise, and before he has a chance to react you snatch the bottle from him, grinning. "Why don't I take that," you say, then you turn and point the wine bottle at all the hooded-guys. "Alright, why don't you all drop your weapons and let all these people go free, before I use this here bottle on you guys."

Most of the hooded guys almost instantly drop their weapons and put their hands up, but one of them defiantly refuses to drop his sky blue TV antenna. "Oh yeah," he says, "why don't you use it on me then? In fact, I doubt you even know how to use that!" The other hooded guys are starting to look less scared now, and some are even reaching for their weapons. You're going to need to quash this soon.

What do you do?

Well, this had better work. You gather the electricity in your hands again and pump it into the bottle. Somehow, this feels a lot easier than just zapping things. Almost immediately, you notice that the bottle is glowing.

"Uh," the guy who called you out is looking a lot less certain now. He drops his antenna and puts his hands up. "Alright, I surrender, just don't point that thing at me, please!"

Goal accomplished, you stop pumping lightning into the bottle, but it keeps on glowing, and getting even brighter too. Quickly, you do the only thing you can think to do. You point the bottle towards the window, out towards the runway. And not a moment too soon, since right as you do that, the bottle finally releases the stored up lightning in a beam, surrounded by a sheathe of superheated flames.

"Oh fuck!" screams the leader guy, staring at the charred crater that your beam left. "It's not supposed to do that! It's just supposed to be like a flamethrower! Oh god we surrender!"

The entire group of hooded guys are now crouching in terror, their hands behind their heads in a remarkable reversal of positions. Staring down at the bottle, you think that you should probably do something about these guys.

"Alright," you say, addressing the passengers. "If you guys could, find some rope and tie these guys up. I'll call the police."

As the passengers get on that, mostly tying the guys up with their own jackets, Joana runs over to you, pure amazement in her eyes, before greeting you with a full on kiss on the lips.

"Oh my god, that was so cool!" she says when she finally finishes locking lips with you. "It was like you were some kind of superhero!"

You chuckle. "It was nothing. To be honest, that whole lightning speed burst thing sort of came out of nowhere.

"Well, the important thing is you won, and saved us all again."

You can't help but smile at Joana's honest appreciation. "Thanks. So, could you call the police to come pick these guys up?"

"Sure," she says, taking out her phone. After a few moments though, she frowns. "That's odd, the 911 line says they're overloaded with calls, and I got put on hold. Do you think this has anything to do with the whole sky falling thing?"

"Maybe," you say. "Are there any reports or anything on the internet?"

"Let me just check…" Joana is silent for a moment. "Fuck."

"What," you say, reaching over to look at her phone. One glance tells you everything you need to know.

Starting from about an hour and a half ago, a stream of tweets are displayed on her screen. Notable ones that catch your eye include "Police have declared martial law", "New York City is now in a State of Chaos", and "All efforts to prevent the spread of these artifacts have failed".

"Oh god, what's going on," says Joana, reeling in shock.

You quickly put it together in your head. "It's these things, the artifacts that came from the sky. Somehow, they've got powers, like how this one was supposed to work like a flamethrower. Imagine what would happen if flamethrowers and deadly weapons just started falling from the sky. In fact, you don't need to imagine. It's already happening."
>>
Joana looks like she needs a moment to recover, and it looks like there's no way to get the police to arrest these formerly hooded guys.

What will you do?

>Let the guys go with a warning.

Destroy the gang's weapons

Ask them if they'd like to volunteer for non-lethal applications of our abilities for a chance to leave without consequences.

Prepare splints and other medical supplies, then start practicing bone breaking/joint dislocating. (You guys can totally veto this if it sounds too brutal, just remember that knowing how to show mercy is just as important as knowing WHEN to show mercy)
>>
>>32817694
>Destroy the gang's weapons
I don't think we should destroy their artifacts, if anything, they should be rounded up, collected and studied, see what their effects are and what they can do, then figure out the safest course to either keep or use or destroy them.
>>
>>32817694
As Metal as that sounds, I think that's a bit too cruel. Brenna is like a superhero, torture ain't her thing.
>>
>>32817764
That assumes we have the manpower to study each artifact, and the time to see what our lightning does to each of them.

I was actually assuming that the other weapons were regular stuff, though.
>>
The first thing you do is to give Joana a hug.

"Don't worry Joana, we'll get through this," you say. "I promise. I'm a freaking superhero, remember?"

This seems to almost instantly calm Joana down, and she hugs you back. "My superhero," she mumbles, smiling.

The rest of the passengers, having tied up the guys and put all their artifacts in a pile, start wandering around the terminal. A lot of them head for the exit, presumably to go find their loved ones and family.

With Joana sitting by your side, you borrow her phone to see if you can find out more stuff about what's going on. Luckily, it looks like her phone can multitask, so you can browse the internet while remaining on hold.

There's the tweets that you've already seen, but a few quick searches and you've found a whole lot more information. Most news websites seem to be suggesting that people barricade themselves indoors.

A good deal of tweets are pointing towards a discussion on some website, which contains large amounts of speculation and a few tidbits of actual information. One thing everyone seems to agree on is that artifacts of the same color tend to have themed effects, complete with a list.

Black is attributed to lightning, streaked black and white to light, and feathered to being far lighter than they should be. Grey and white are inconclusive, as people can't seem to agree between fire or water for grey, and morphing or ice for white. Blue is agreed upon to have no effect, other than being almost impossible to break. Nowhere do you see any mentions of humans like yourself, though there seem to be an awful lot of mundane animals being produced.

>I was actually assuming that the other weapons were regular stuff, though.
might want to reread the update then

About half an hour in, you hear a shout from behind you, and you turn to see one of the plane passengers leading a group of Airport Security over. "I found these guys locked in a room near the entrance," he says. "Also, the airport is pretty much empty, other than us. I guess these guys must have taken over the place."

You nod, and a security guard comes over to talk to you.

"I guess you're the leader here. I got the run down from this guy here," he says, gesturing to the passenger in question. "We'll keep these guys locked up, but I can't promise not to rough them up a little. They injured some of our guys pretty badly."

It seems like the situation here in the airport has been pretty well taken care of, and Joana is starting to look ready to move as well. The 911 call still hasn't connected though.

How will you proceed?

>>32817928
We really can't just leave these guys to fend for themselves, but creating our own faction might just escalate the conflict. Going by the normal /tg/ strategy, though, it'll be our best bet for powering up.

Seriously though, these blue artifacts are kinda low-tier. Infinite durability staves are great, but wrenches? They're already hard as crap to break!

up to you guys, I guess.
>>
>>32818138
>We really can't just leave these guys to fend for themselves
what do you mean by that? the only people here are us and Jo, the guys who tried to jump us and the airport security who can take custody of the crims who tried to take over the place and make us surrender
>>
>>32818138
Unbreakable anything is amazingly useful.
>>
Having confirmed that the security has the hooded guys under control, you decide that it's probably time for two of you to leave. "You ready to go, Jo?"

Joana grins and hops to her feet, all enthusiasm. "I thought you'd never ask. Come on, we have a world to save!"

The two of you quickly throw all of the artifacts into a random bag from the nearest airport store. Nobody seems to care, seeing as those are the very weapons they were threatened and attacked with.

It's only once you've gotten out into the main lobby that you see how much has gone on here. The floors and walls have burn marks everywhere, as well as small splatters of blood here and there. The airport lobby is entirely empty, with overturned benches and line-separators lying everywhere for you to navigate on your way to the door.

At the entrance, you look out into the abandoned streets, with crashed cars and broken windows everywhere. Only a few light blue artifacts are visible, all of them light blue, such as the entire tractor that's partially buried in the concrete, or the pair of shoes you see hanging off a blinking traffic light. It looks like a hurricane hit, which you suppose it might as well have. Most notably, however…

"That can't be right," says Joana, looking up into the black void that is the sky. "It should still be mid-afternoon, not night."

You point up into the void. "Everything in the sky fell. I assume that includes the sun, somehow. I guess it'll be permanently night time until all this is fixed."

Joana is silent for a moment. "Do you… do you really think that all this can be fixed?"

"…" You can only tell her the truth. "…I don't know. But I hope so, and if there is a way to fix it, I promise you I'll do my hardest to find it."

Joana smiles. "See, that's the kind of attitude we need! Now let's get going!"

Where will you go?

>>
>>32818281
>noone wants to take steps to preserve order
we can do that, but not right now, we need to get to our new 'home' and get set up, find out whats going on and what we can do to help, now ain't the time for rushing into that

>>32818281
>and we took away said bulletproof weapons/armor

I doubt Joanna had spare shoes to give us in her carry-on luggage. Let's grab 'em.
>>
>>32818368
and the airport security, who will be unable to defend themselves when ANOTHER group comes in?
>>
>>32818379
thats a good point actually, I'm sure we could spare some of the blue artifacts for security to keep things in order, its not like we'll use every single piece we took off that gang
>>
The two of you are just about ready to depart when a thought strikes you. You quickly return to the terminal and give a few of the blue artifacts to the security guards before leaving. Then, you quickly clamber up the streetlight outside to retrieve the artifact shoes, swapping them out for the airline slippers that you had been wearing up until now.

Finally ready, the two of you head for Joana's apartment in Queens, over an hour's walk away. Along the way, you take in the sad state that the city's in. An awful lot of very heavy artifacts are lying in and through things, and unfortunately there are large pools of blood seeping out from underneath a few. You hear quite a bit of noises from around you, but it doesn't seem like anybody is willing to come out of hiding.

It isn't until you're only a few streets from the apartment that you run into trouble. You hear a yell in defiance, and with a nod from Joana, the two of you rush around the corner to see a group of heavily pierced people wielding various blue artifacts backing a bespectacled young man into a corner. The man in question is doing his best to keep the pierced people away using a shiny black sword, but he can't keep all of them at bay for long, since they're boxing him in from all sides.

With a sickly grin, Joana pulls a pipe length out from the bag. What will you do?

You run into battle, already gathering the electricity in your hands.

You quickly hit two of the men, dropping them, while Joana swings the pipe at another, catching him off guard and knocking him down as well. You're charging up for a third shot when one of the pierced miscreants pulls up out of nowhere, furiously swinging her lamp at your face. You manage to dodge the first couple of blows, but the third catches you in the jaw, knocking you down.

"Brenna!" cries Joana, distracted from her own duel, leaving her open to be hit in the side, getting the wind knocked out of her. You can only watch as the pierced thug in question prepares to bring down his heavy weapon…

…and suddenly, a massive jet of water strikes him in the back, pushing him down and giving Joana the time to stand up. Your would be assailant looks over, distracted, and that's all the time that the bespectacled man needs to hit her in the side of the head with the flat of his sword, knocking her out cold.

"Are you alright?" he asks, helping you up.

"I'll be fine," you say, rubbing your jaw. "Joana?"

"I'm good too," she says, finishing knocking out the thug that had been about to hit her.

"Oh good," says the bespectacled man, before wincing in pain. A quick glance and you see that he's clutching a bleeding wound in his side. "Well, I wasn't exactly able to hold them all off, and I am in quite a bit of pain right now. Do you happen to have any medical supplies?"

"Oh god, I'm sorry," says Joana. "My apartment's like a block away, and I've got medical supplies there."

"Ah great. I'm afraid I'm finding it quite difficult to stay conscious right now, so if you could?" he says as he drops his weapon and begins to fall to the side. You manage to catch him, and Joana bags the sword as the two of you rush back to Joana's apartment.
>>
Rushing into the building and up two flights of stairs, you and Joana are running all the way. As Joana fumbles with her keys, you notice the door opposite open a bit, and a pair of nearly identical heads poke out, one male and one female.

"Are you alright, Jo?" says the male one, concern tinging his voice.

"We're alright, James," says Joana, finally opening the door. "Although if you have a roll of gauze bandage, that'd be really helpful."

The female one chuckles. "Yeah, we've got tons of that, what with James' constant injuries." She pokes her head back in for a second, before emerging with a huge roll of bandages. "So who are these two?" she asks, tossing Joana the bandages.

"Uh… it's complicated, Melissa. Let's leave it at that." says Joana, grinning a bit. "Come on, Brenna, we've got to get this guy bandaged, quick."

Joana, as it turns out, isn't all that good at badging, but she still manages a pretty good job of getting the wound disinfected and cleaned. Having finished with that, you are finally able to relax, and take in Joana's apartment. And one feature of this apartment seems to override all else.

Superhero merchandise. Everywhere.

how do you decide which roll is picked?

almost all quests use a best of 3 system, where the best roll is the one used, it seems to negate /tg/'s shitty dice
>>
>>32818971
Does /tg/ have shitty dice? I'll look into the best of three system before tomorrow's session, but the reason I used random roll picking this time is to prevent things like multiple combat options being rolled for, then everyone just jumping on the one that got the highest roll.
>>
Rolled 16

>>32818991
yeah /tg/'s dice are shite, the seed generator runs on post time, so posts that are very close together time wise have clustered results

the way almost everyone gets around that issue of bandwagoning on good rolls is to vote on the actions, then roll once the winning vote is picked, you get no bandwagoning and then take the best of three and it works pretty well

just be aware that /tg/ dice have a tendency to swing wildly and crits are pretty common, theres no bell curve to /tg/ dice, they just like to throw crits and shit results every which way

Yes, minor shapeshift allows you to do things such as adjust your facial features, slightly disguise yourself, and grow a penis.

I'm interested in quests for the Traditional Game, not for Storytime.
