File: Nal Hutta.jpg (6 KB, 200x200)

Recently elevated to the rank of apprentice within the Sith Order, your master, Lord Velas, sent you to Nal Hutta for your first mission. You were met at the spaceport by a Rodian named Zeedo, who took you to his home and gave you a holocommunicator containing a recorded message from your master. The message detailed your mission on Nal Hutta; take over the industrial town of Jiguuna and the surrounding area. After murdering Zeedo as the message instructed, you took your damaged droid, CH-4N, to get repairs. After CH-4N came back online, you murdered the mechanic and brought the droid back to Zeedo's home. The two of you argued for a time, until CH-4N left to dispose of the body and you went into the bedroom to study a holocron you had retrieved from the tomb of Naga Sadow. The holocron taught you to use an ability known as Chain Lightning, and, after a brief argument with your droid, you left to explore Jiguuna. After witnessing a bounty hunter in action, you visited an information broker and learned of the gangs warring for control over Jiguuna. You took a particular interest in a new, smaller gang run by a human named Yaldan. Paying extra to find out where his gang could be found, you bought yourself mercenary armor and made your way to the gang's safehouse. Surrendering your weapons, you were granted an audience with Yaldan, where you revealed your identity and your mission. Offering Yaldan's gang control over Jiguuna and your protection, you gained their allegiance. You were shown their supplies and began planning how to bring down the other gangs and take over Jiguuna.

>Welcome to Sith Quest

Here is the basic layout. Decisions will be made by voting on various options. Whichever option has the most votes after ten minutes is the winner. All votes are final, so choose wisely. Also, you can add some dialogue to your vote, if you wish. During combat, if you want to say something, just type what you want to say with your vote. During conversations, if multiple people supply different dialogue, I will combine as many as I can so long as they do not contradict one another, in order to avoid a conversation taking several hours.

>Important

The combat system will be dice based and use a d100 system. In order to succeed in those options, one out of the first three rolls must be equal to or greater than the specified number. However, if a number of 4 or lower is rolled in the first three, then whatever you were attempting will go very badly. On the other hand, if a number of 96 or higher is rolled in the first five, then whatever you are attempting will go very well unless a roll of 4 or below occurred in the first three.

Rolls will not occur until the voting time is up and the option for a particular roll has won

"We will choose targets that will not draw much attention for the smaller raids," you tell them.

"That's what we've been doing so far," Yaldan tells you. "

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," Chartah tells him

"If you ask me, we don't need more resources to begin the raids we desire," Soolah speaks up. "We have weapons; all we need are men and women to use them."

"Most people who would be willing to join a gang are already in one," Gahtor points out.

"Most, but not all," Soolah counters. "We're not looking to make a gang to rival the others yet, remember? There are still some unaffiliated people in this city."

"And no shortage of mercenaries," the Rodian adds.

>A. Finding a few unaffiliated people and mercenaries sounds good

"Agreed," Yaldan says.

"Look to them to expand your influence, and arm them the best you can." you continue. "Meanwhile, I will visit Toth'lazhen's palace."

"Why is that?" the Twi'lek male asks.

"The power he wields is twofold- he is ruthless, and he surrounds himself with powerful, competent individuals," you explain. "Many of the most proficient mercenaries will be at his court. I will subtly attempt to draw some of those to our banner."

"That has potential," Yaldan compliments. "But, be cautious about who you reveal our plans to; few on Nal Hutta can be trusted."

"One last thing," you tell them. 'Anyone with credits can learn of your location from a simple information broker. If you do not already have backup plans in case you are raided, I would make them now. If I had come with a skilled team and malicious intent, you might all now be dead."

Yaldan nods, "Soolah, find any information brokers that know about us, and make sure they don't say anything."

Soolah grins, "My pleasure."

She leaves, and Yaldan begins giving the others instructions.

"Do you need anything done?" you ask Yaldan.

He stops giving orders long enough to turn his attention to you. "Well, my Lord, if we plan to execute raids in the future that we can pin on the larger gangs, we will need a way to make sure that they are conspicuous and do a lot of damage. This could be accomplished, even by a small group, if we had proper explosives; mines, detonators, whatever you can get your hands on or give us the location of. For the moment, I am having Leebo go out and recruiting some more followers," he tells you, gesturing to the Twi'lek male. "Tixx here will start scoping out any other potential safe houses we might use as backups," he adds, gesturing to the Rodian. "Soolah is out dealing with the threat posed by information brokers, and Gahtor will stand guard here."

With Yaldan handling the actions of the gang, you decide to delay your visit to Toth'lazhen's palace, and instead return to your home in town. Leaving the safe house behind, you work your way through the streets, taking note of the corpse in the alleyway you spoke to the information broker in. The corpse even looks like the broke. Imagine that.

You soon reach your house, and find CH-4N standing in the main room as you walk inside. He turns to look at you immediately, his expression, as always, the exact same as it always is.

"Welcome back, master," he greets unenthusiastically. "I must say, I'm disappointed. You've been gone for a while, and I had hoped that you'd met with an unfortunate, and, ideally, highly painful, demise. It was so entertaining to think of how you might have met your end; stepping in front of a speeder, trying to drink the swamp water, picking a fight with some gangsters and getting painfully slaughtered. But, now you have returned, and all my dreams and imagined fates for you have been dashed. Truly, my existence is suffering. So...what can I do for you, master?"

Master?" he calls after you as you walk to the bedroom, drowning out his shouts by shutting the door and making sure to lock it this time.

Recovering the holocron from its hiding place, you set it atop the bed. Sitting with your legs crossed in front of it, you place your hand on its tip. A surge of dark side energy travels between you and the pyramid shaped object, and you pull back your hand. A small, holographic figure flickers into being before you.

"You have returned," he states. "I hope you've taken my advice about servants, but I assume that is not the reason you have activated me. You seek knowledge again, do you not?"

"I want to learn more about lightning abilities," you tell him.

"I see; there is one more such ability I found rather useful," he tells you. "However, it is not a simple one. It was known as a force storm; essentially, a Sith would command bolts of lightning to strike an area from above, wreaking havoc on enemies caught within it. However, this technique requires a great deal of concentration; someone tapping you on the shoulder could ruin the entire thing. In addition, this ability requires both of your hands, and for you to spread them away from your body. So, it also leaves you rather vulnerable. If you wish, I can teach you this ability."

"I wish to learn," you tell him.

"Very well then, listen closely," he replies. The basic idea of this attack, is that you draw on the force as you normally would when conjuring lightning. However, once you have gathered the necessary energy, you direct it above your targeted area before turning it to the form of lightning. Once you have, bring your hands down a bit to unleash it, and make it rain down upon that spot. As I said, this technique is incredibly dangerous to the user, but it can reek havoc upon groups of enemies."

>You have learned Force Storm. This ability makes you incredibly vulnerable, and takes a large amount of concentration to channel. Because of this, the rolls needed to use it in combat will be extremely high, oftentimes crits, unless the enemy or group. The rolls needed to use it outside of combat or beginning combat against distant or distracted foes will be lower, but as this is a difficult and advanced force technique, they will still start out rather high.

"Now, is there anything else?" he asks.

"Tell me about combat," you instruct.

"Very well; as I said, I preferred to deal with my foes at a distance, so blade fights were not something I had too much experience with," he reminds you. "However, I always made sure I observed the fighting styles of potential rivals, and those in power. While I preferred fighting at a distance, some Sith Sorcerers fought with a combination of blade work and force attacks. Some would parry a foe's lightsaber out of the way and unleash a burst of lightning while the foe was exposed. Others used force spells to cause pain or slow their foes, giving them an advantage. Even the Sith Assassins often included force abilities in their fighting styles; cloaking themselves in order to ambush targets, or charging their blades with dark power or electricity to wear down their opponents in a prolonged duel. Naga Sadow used the combat style of the Sith Marauders; identifying weak points on foes and attacking them hard and fast. Juggernauts, on the other hand, make themselves extensions of the dark side itself, creating impenetrable defenses with their blades or overwhelming a foe with brute strength. Some Sith sought to balance the different styles, to varying degrees of success."

"What can you tell me about healing abilities?" you ask.

"There are many kinds," he replies. "I assume you already know the method for healing yourself."

You inform him that you do.

"Good; a lesser known talent is the ability to heal one's allies," he informs you in turn. "Great Sith healers have been able to repair the most grievous of injuries inflicted upon others, but they spent their entire lives harnessing those abilities. There is one method of healing that most Sith can learn with a little practice. A Sith can channel the force, as well as their own strength and vitality, to heal the wounded. It is a fairly simple ability to perform, but, like the Force Storm; it requires concentration, making it dangerous to use in combat. Another drawback is that it can greatly tire out its user, depending on the strength of the Sith and the severity of the injuries they wish to heal. If you wish, I can teach you this ability."

"Yes, I wish to learn," you tell him.

"As you wish, then," he responds.

>You have learned Force Heal( Ally). This ability currently will only fix minor injuries, and will require crits to use in combat. Out of combat, the rolls will be significantly lower, and as you practice, the rolls will become lower, and the level of injury you can treat will increase.

Having spent several hours learning from the holocron, you decide it is time you do what you told your servants you would. Deactivating the holocron, and once again tucking it away in a safe location, you leave the bedroom.

CH-4N is still in the main room, and walks over to you as soon as you enter.

"Master, I may be able to find you a replacement tongue," he tells you, sounding almost...worried. "It will work just as well as your old one until you stupidly lose it again; but until then, you can try to be witty and make a fool out of yourself all you like."

You ignore the droid, still saying nothing, and leave the house. Making your way through town, you approach the massive building at its edge; Toth'lazhen's palace. The entrance is large, and guarded by a pair of gamorreans armed with blaster rifles. They do not stop you, or anyone else, as you enter the palace.

Making your way up a large ramp, you find yourself in a large Cantina. A bar sits at the center of it, with gangsters, bounty hunters, dancers, pirates, and businessmen all having drinks and enjoying themselves. Astromech droids outfitted with trays move around the room, offering food and drink to the patrons. People sit around at tables, drinking, arm wrestling, or playing cards. Dancers, both real and holographic, perform for large groups of men, and at the other side of the Cantina, a band performs on stage before a dancing crowd. Doorways leading deeper into the palace are shut, with armed guards standing in front of them.

You figure the bar to be the best place to get a little information, and potentially make a few new friends.

You casually walk over, and take an empty seat between a Trandoshan and a Pike. The Trandoshan hisses at you before gulping down his drink, while the Pike sits with his back turned to you, talking to a Ratattaki female.

"Just brought Toth'lazhen a big shipment," he tells the Rattataki. "He paid me a fortune!"

"And now you waste it here; how wise of you," the woman replies.

"A few drinks won't hurt me," he replies, taking a sip.

"No, but talking about how much money you're carrying with you in a place like this might," she replies.

"Relax," he tells her. "Nobody here is stupid enough to try anything in Toth'lazhen's palace. And even if they are, I have you to protect me."

"If I have to protect you from a whole cantina, I want triple my usual rate," she tells him.

"Fair enough," he replies, ordering another drink.

"So, what kind of shipment did Toth'lazhen pay you for?" you ask the pike.

"A large shipment of ore," the Pike says, turning to you. "I'm not quite sure what he's using it for; probably weapons and armor, but he's paying quite a bit for anybody who can deliver it to his palace. So, I made one flight from Mustafar and made a killing. I love my job."

"And, apparently, giving every bit of detail about your job to total strangers," the Ratattaki growls at him.

"Relax, our friend here doesn't look like a smuggler. Maybe a Bounty Hunter; but nobody's put a price on my head yet," he tells her. "In fact, you my friend, could be quite useful to me. You look like a tough gentleman, and you clearly have an ear for profit. Perhaps you'd like to talk business?"

"He may have a point, sir," the Ratattaki tells him.

"Fine; let us go somewhere more private, then," the Pike says, standing up. "We can speak on my ship."

The three of you leave the Cantina and exit the palace, making your way through town to the spaceport. The Pike leads you to his ship; a Corellian Freighter. The fact that such ships are often used by smugglers just seems fitting to you. Climbing aboard, you are greeted by a gold-plated protocol droid, who the Pike tells to bring the three of you some refreshments. You make your way to a large room, full of crates and chairs surrounding a holoterminal. The Pike sits in a chair while the Ratattaki sits atop a crate. The Pike beckons for you to sit.

You do as he suggests, and take a seat in a chair in front of his.

"So, what do you have in mind?" you ask him.

"Well, my friend, all of these gang wars and all of the wealth they have brought me have me thinking," he tells you. "The great gangs of the galaxy are constantly at one another's throats, and while that puts stress on their own organizations, to others, it provides opportunity. In times like these where the Hutts and the Exchange are fighting for territory, and other groups are on the rise everywhere from Dromund Kaas to Coruscant, smugglers without affiliation are in high demand. In the war between the Hutts and exchange, many are worried about buying from one side for fear of angering the other. The newer crime syndicates often need weapons smuggled from offworld."

He leans back in his chair. "My vision is of a syndicate with connections to all of the major criminal organizations, but loyalty to none. An organization that can always prosper and flourish regardless of the rise and fall of other groups. I wish to create a smuggling organization that will provide services to every criminal empire in the galaxy, and make a fortune in the process."

He blinks and scratches his head, as if he hasn't really thought of all that you have explained to him.

"I...err....." he stammers.

The Ratattaki rolls her eyes.

Clearly, this man is not particularly intelligent, but he does have a great deal of credits, a ship, a protocol droid, and a presumably competent servant. Perhaps you could take all of that for yourself.

"Well, every criminal syndicate requires muscle, of course," he tells you, trying to regain his confidence and composure, earning a glare from the Ratattaki in the process. "I would like for you to be the first of my mercenary army."

Using the force, you throw the Pike against the far wall, and keep him pinned there, suspended above the ground.

You grin at the Rattataki. "Is he paying you enough to face off against a Sith?"

She shakes her head and stays out of your way as you slowly walk towards the Pike, keeping him hopelessly dangling above the ground.

"I am no common mercenary, cretin," you inform the terrified Pike. "Your loose lips could well be a dangerous liability. But, you are fortunate; I could use your resources, your contacts."

The Pike doesn't say anything, just kicking his legs wildly and staring at you in terror, but you can tell that he is listening closely.

"I can see your plan coming to fruition," you tell him. "I can see your cartel growing to span all of Hutt space, perhaps beyond."

His stare changes from simple terror, to a mixture of fear and confusion.

"But first, you need a safe harbor. A base of operations. Somewhere to run when all else fails," you continue. "Join me, and that place could be Jiguuna."

The Pike nods furiously. "Y-yes, my Lord! That sounds wonderful! I will serve you well!"

"My Lord, if I might speak," the Ratattaki says behind you.

You turn to her while keeping the Pike pinned to the wall.

"We both know that he is an idiot with a big mouth he never learned to shut," she starts bluntly. "I've been travelling with him for a while. I know his contacts. A wealth of credits and resources are on this ship, and everything else he has is only a matter of hiring someone to get from his accounts. His eyes widen in renewed terror as you slowly approach him. "My-my Lord, please! Please, I beg of you! Don't kill me! I promise, I can be useful! That syndicate I wanted to create, it's yours! Not even a partnership, it's all yours!"

His words fall on deaf ears as you make your way towards him. Keeping him pinned to the wall with one hand, you slowly raise the other, and point all of your fingers towards him. Bolts of lightning explode from your fingers, striking the defenseless Pike, who screams in agony. It takes only seconds for the weak creature to go limp, dead from your power. You let his corpse fall to the floor, and turn your attention back to the Ratattaki.

"It is done," you say simply.

She smiles. "So it is. I always thought the stories of Sith Powers were exaggerated, but that was impressive. I guess you and I have a lot to talk about."
