James the Sailor has said little in these past days of wandering in the gloom and shadows, all that remains now of the treasures kept within the great vault of the Empire of the Dragon. Even as the last of our salted shreep, parting gift of the Forestmen, dwindled and vanished he has kept his thoughts to himself, plunging forward without pause as ever.

Calus the newcomer regards me, and my grim company, as a curiosity, and if there be fear beneath his gaze he shows nothing but detached interest, watching me as a child might watch a beetle crawling 'cross a leaf. He has attached himself to us, supping from his own meager rations until they were gone as well, but I fear that he may seek the sword.
>>
The black longsword. 'Twas I who pulled it from the stone in the dead womb of the Vault, even if he was the first to lay eyes upon it, and if Calus or anyone feels the urge of theft, they will not catch me unaware, for I find myself hesitant even to let it out of my grip for a moment. My own pitchfork is ensorcelled, bound to me, yet this new piece of my arsenal is compelling far beyond its right.

As we pick our way through the tunnels worked by masons dead a thousand years or more, James offers his hand, but I cannot bring myself to take it, so tight my grip upon sword and pitchfork.

My shreep ambles blithely behind us, though she has begun flagging after a week without water or food. For all I have done, I hate to see her suffer, though if we cannot escape these cursed tunnels soon, desperation may force my hand, for more and more do I find myself regarding her haunches when we sit upon the ancient stone floor with howling stomachs.

Behind us the orcs snarl and shove each other, more vicious in death than in life. Twice now have we halted our desperate egress to stop them from tearing each other to unusable pieces, for though I used the book of blasphemies to raise their corpses, I was granted only the most tremulous of control.

And of Jenny, my hated rival, now a pitiful and bewildered thing under my stewardship, I find myself turning again and again to look upon as she stands motionless while we rest. What little mind she has left - is it hers, lost and stumbling in the darkness inside her corpse, or is it a spark of something else, the same dim demon-granted power that gifted me with the book of blasphemies?

Encased in the blackened still air of this empty crypt for untold days, the witchlight forces our eyes to slits as my pitchfork illuminates the grand hall that rears up on both sides and far overhead. A line of ancient sigils of the Empire of the Dragon stand as mute guardians, judging us rightly as trespassers. Beyond them, a tapestry hangs limply, faded and crusted with mold.

A strange clattering noise draws my gaze to the gloom pressing upon the bounds of the witchlight, when suddenly -

It's not something that can really be improved without a total overhaul, but I'm limited by the pieces I have. As you can see from pic related, each section is held together by a single stud on a hinge stuck into a 1x2 Technic brick, which is a very fragile connection. I'm willing to put up with it, because it makes awesome shots when I get it just right.

Well if it works, then it works. I don't suppose you'd be willing to order more pieces just to fix a one-off encounter that you probably won't pull out for at least three quests, and you in particular won't have much other use for those jumper plates anyhow.

"A scholar," he smiles as he unfastens the boards at the back of his garishly-painted wagon. "Then you are no doubt familiar with the vaults of the Empire of the Dragon. They lie beyond the pass." As he says this, I catch his gaze upon the black longsword. "Perhaps you have visited them?"

"No matter," he continues. "The land beyond was forsaken when the Empire fell. That is why such things as Juliana were allowed to rise." At this, he glances toward me, expectantly, and smiles again. "Well that her name has not crossed your ears, for she was a fearsome witch who did rule the place beyond us. I thought well enough when I heard she had been slain at last, but those who had done the deed are even worse, and so the Wastes are emptying of all those who fear what they are wrighting."

I had a lot, two of these huge plastic crates full of them and a few smaller bins of them as well. When I was in elementary school I did a book report on Treasure Island, I made a replica of the entire island on my kitchen table out of Legos. When I found out my Mom had given them away I was pissed at the time, even though it'd been years since I played with them. Thinking back on it, I'm glad she gave them away. Some other kid deserved to sit for endless hours building cities, armies, castles, spaceships, anything you could think of. I hope the next person who got them gave them away too.

Lothar fuming, I watch the Short Men make their way through the trackless swamp, dragging their excavation works, and think of the man's words.

From across the path James's gaze catches my eye, though what is behind it I can read not at all.

And I fear what lies ahead.

Hoo boy, this was a marathon session. I could have gone longer, but this seemed like a good place to pause, and tomorrow's episode will have a lot of action in it, but we're 40 posts away from autosage and there's only room in the thread for another 24 images.

I hope everybody had fun, and I'll be around for a while if anyone wants to talk about stuff or see things or whatever.

Don't forget about the official Lego Quest wiki:

I was wondering where the shreep went.

So... daughter wives... is that what it sounds like?

Dang it, LQ, you always leave me with more questions than answers!

And what is with this parade of mysterious people with piles of loot leaving the area we're heading into?

I guess you'll have to come back tomorrow and find out!

In other news, Bezos's animal companion makes its second in-game appearance tonight. The hipposauroid was first seen on Troparctica, milling around near the warrior-woman's spaceship.

Good show. I hope you had time to eat, because fuck, that was eight hours of glorious Lego Quest.

How do you organize game builds, structures and minifigs? Are all of your PC figs in one bag, or is, say, the Apprentice mixed in with Apprentice Quest minifigs? Perhaps they are just divided into their main categories (Castle, Space, etc).
>>
>>33057553
I put together a bunch of minifigs, props, and other stuff that I think might fit into the game somewhere, even though I usually end up not using some of it. As for organization, I have all my minifig legs in one bag, torsos, arms, and hands in another, regular smiley heads in one bag, non-standard heads in another, and all the Apprentice Quest stuff in its own bag.

The downside to running this is the time it takes to part everything back out after the game is all over. Cleaning up after Assassin Quest terminated ha took about four hours.

Damn it, Lego Quest Guy. You're making me want to buy Lego again just like during Spaceman's story. I have no use at all for it buy I bought an old castle back then that I always wanted as a kid.

Give it a shot; maybe you have latent artistic skill that only Lego can unlock. The recently released Mixels are $5 packs of instant creativity. You could get one or two, build it, take it apart, and go crazy with your imagination.

Is it at all possible that the world of the Apprentice is an undeveloped backwater world in the Legoquest Space Setting? I might be reading too much into shared things like shreep, the nullipede and Zaldimar that are just intended as easter eggs or a way to reuse cool models, but I don't think it's too outrageous. We've already seen a whole bunch of worlds in the space setting that the rest of the universe seems to have forgotten about, which exist in a medieval or tribal state.

The obvious thing that would mark them as different universes is the magic, but there's some pretty whacky stuff in the space setting anyway: psychic powers and that one guy undead emperor in an Endman quest who had extended his life with 'dark sorceries.' The line between 'magic' and 'sci-fi space powers' could be a pretty thin one. Calus' high tech could be salvaged from a bunch of stuff left by a space faring faction on the Apprentices' world.

In other news, I organized a timeline before I fell asleep yesterday, so I should have that up pretty soon. This thread's about dead, but if it's still on the board when I make a new one I'll link it from here.

Also just realized that Antipolus and Stratothes gained plot armor due to being referenced by Endman as still viable for allying in Return of Spaceman. Any future Endman's Adventure won't have anything too drastic occuring.

Oh, that makes sense and is more in line with the way you do things. It looks like you were already finished with editing before you saw the vote though.

The Classic Space helmet confuses me in the realm of Lego Quest. We first encountered Yoren in Assassin Quest wearing it, but the flashback showed him in the modern helmet.

I thought the old helmet was new and standard-issue during his time, what gives?

Classic helmets aren't vacuum-worthy. They're just for head protection. The figures on the ancient tapestry were wearing visor helmets, and that was a long time before Yoren was born.

Jadar also wears a helmet with a visor during his flashback.
