You head up to the tallest building, a building that looks directly down upon the Kazekage's office. You aren't sure what this building is used for, but honestly in your lifetime more buildings have been put up than you can honestly remember. Now that the war is over your village has really taken it's full time to grow and prosper.

Once up here you check the roof for anyone, even going so far as to look in the window beneath you, finding no one at all.

You settle down on it and breathe out slowly, then in, out and then in. This is a key part of Chakra Control, and it's a skill that you have struggled to maintain mastery over. Due to the nature of your chakra it feels...sticky. It either clings to one side or another of yours. It's difficult for you to get it to rotate and flow like it's supposed to. There's nothing wrong, you've asked several doctors, but you still can't shake the feeling that your chakra is a lump in your gut as it clings to a side of you.

"What are you doing up here, Chunin?" A deep and quiet voice interrupts your meditation. As you round on the voice, angry to be interrupted again, you see a figure that you'd immediately recognize.

Broad shoulders, tall, lean build, a broad fan of spiked black hair, a mouth-piece pull up to cover his nose and mouth, black pitless eyes, dark skin.

"Lord Kazekage!" You kneel.

Your brief meeting with the Kage clearing your mind a bit, you feel slightly bad about storming out from your brother. You return to your apartment and see that Kazuki is still sitting there, rolling up the wrap he wore around his head. "Ah, welcome back Hikari." You wrap your arms around him and he laughs as he hugs you back. "I'm sorry," you mutter and he pats your back.

"It's fine, I know you still have hard feelings, but we'll avenge them one day, ok." You nod and separate from him. The two of you spend the rest of the day catching up, share a meal and eventually, long after night has fallen, he puts his wrap around his neck.

"Well, thank you, sis, but I think I have to get going. Class is in the morning, but I do want to know if you'd be interested in this." He produces a small scroll, "Just think it over." With that he kisses your forehead and heads out into the night.

You sit down on your bed, pulling on your night robes and open the scroll.

"A-Rank Mission-
Objective: Bring down the rogue syndicate of shinobi interfering with our missions.

You nod, punching your own fist, "Yes, you can do this, you can do this!" You wrap the scroll up and take a note before you sleep. You will get some wire, more rations, a few hundred needles, and a kusari-gama even though you are unsure as to your ability to use it.

The next morning you wake up, show the scroll to your usual assignment officer who laughs and tells you that this is now how you're going to do things anymore. He gives you directions to a building somewhere in the police quarters.

You arrive and go to the noted room. Inside you see two men wearing full face wraps, leaving only their mouths visible. Both men seem to be roughly the same size. There is a lazing woman with a white combat vest instead of the usual brown. She wears extremely red lipstick and has a flowing river of curly black hair. Finally, there is a mousey looking woman with a clipboard and a rather dowdy appearance.

"Welcome!" The woman speaks first, standing up and as she does you see her tower over you. Her shoulders are broader than your brother's easily and she pulls back her admittedly pretty lips and smiles, "So, you're the Hikari Araki the mission spoke of. I am so excited to meet someone the Kazekage himself would special request for this."

You shift your backpack, filled with the goods you purchased on your way, nervously in front of this giantess.

One of the bandage-wrapped men stands up and smiles, "Come on, Emiko, she can't breathe." The woman laughs again and lets you go. The other bandaged man walks up and hands you a featureless white mask with only dark eyeholes cut into the porcelain-looking exterior. "Here, it's important for us all to remain anonymous." You look at the giantess' hip and see a similar mask just dangling there, though you doubt it will do much to obscure who she is.

The meek woman comes up and bows, "I'm...Kaoru, it's nice to meet you." She straightens up and taps the board, "Well, now that everyone's here...we need to get moving."

The group transitions to the gate and Kaoru produces a small map and places it on her board. "Alright, Akita, you are leading us. We are heading to the southwest." He nods and takes off at a brisk jump, the other man following behind him noiselessly. Kaoru bows her head, "I'll pull up the rear, Hikari." Emiko puts on the mask and launches herself after the two men, calling back, "Keep up if you can, newbie!"

You pull your mask on and adjust your ponytail into a fresh position as you...

No need to go and tire yourself from the get go, you take a reasonable pace and keep them in sight. Kaoru follows behind you, occasionally speaking up to ask a quiet question. You answer politely, even kindly, but she withers up as soon as you answer.

Eventually Akita stops and the five of you gather up on various limbs of a tree. "What now, Kaoru?" The young woman adjusts her glasses and looks out across the expanse of brushland. You are on the edge of the Land of WInd, close to where the contested land between Wind and FIre exist. She squints and points, "There, I think I see something over there. We should wait for night....I think..."

Emiko nods, crossing her arms as she drops down to sit on the branch, shaking the tree with her great weight, "Fine by me. It's almost night anyway, I can get a nap." She pops off her sandals and lets her legs dangle over the branches. "Emiko...we're on a mission." Kaoru's pleas are ignored though, as the giantess seems to fall asleep.

"Jeez..." Akita says as he sits next to you, the other Jonin wordlessly standing on a higher branch and keeping watch. "She's a handful. Well....more than a handful for me." He says with a laugh.

You smile politely and realize you have at least an hour ahead of you. What should you do?

You take the time to place your senbon in the small scrolls, leaving about fifty in each scroll. You load the kusari-gama in its own scroll and place that one under your right arm in a scroll-case for safe keeping and quick access. After checking your food and making sure that you have it well organized you close up your bag and look over to the man next to you.

"Akita, right? What do you know about this mission?" The man rubs where you expect his chin to be, before shrugging, "Not too much, honestly. I've heard about these interlopers but the one with the information is Kaoru." The young woman jumps slightly with a start, "Me? Oh no, I just read reports a lot..." You nod and look over to her, "Well, how about you come with me and we can go do some scouting?" She nods. You leave a charged senbon sticking in the tree. "I'll alert you if we get in danger."

You and Kaoru jump down as you unroll some wire, creating a relatively easy to pass net, but to pass it will expose whomever does so.

The two of you head out into the brushland, getting into the woods more as you take to further trees, the woods becoming thicker. As you travel through the woods for what feels like a half hour Kaoru stops and looks back. "We should head back soon." You nod and land next to her, and as you do so you hear something burning.

Kaoru looks down and covers her face with her clipboard as she's flung down to the ground from a blast.

You freeze, not knowing which trees could be trapped, or even if the ground was. Luckily, it seems Kaoru didn't land on a second trap.

You draw a length of metal wire from the spool in your backpack and charge it with magnetism, sweeping the area carefully and setting off a few traps nearby, hopefully none of them hurting Kaoru too much. As you wrap the wire back up into its spool you hear the sounds of people approaching in the distance. They're making no effort at being quiet, but you don't think you can set up any sort of trap.

A few options come to your mind.

You jump down and as you do charge a senbon and throw it back towards the camp. It will take some time for it to travel, but with the magnetic charge you've given it, it should arrive long long before you do.

You scoop up the small woman and stand up, but as you do so find yourself unable to move, as if she were anchored to the ground. Looking down you see the young woman's face is fine, a few cuts and a long one across her forehead which is bleeding pretty badly, but as some of the blood pools down into her mouth her eyes are rolling back and the whites are turning green, bright glowing green.

"Kaoru?" You ask and as you speak she pushes you off of her with tremendous strength. You roll safely onto your feet and she stumbles to her feet, the modest gray robes she wears falling off one shoulder, revealing a body covered in scars and bruises.

The people approaching you are extremely close. Kaoru's mask fell off in the fall, but she seems uninterested in recovering it. You look around as you hear them approaching and check Kaoru one more time, she's not going anywhere, so you....

You throw a couple of charged senbon into the ground, hoping they'll serve a purpose as you jump into a nearby bush. "Kaoru, incoming, three from up high." The girl turns to face you first, barely recognizing the words you say, it appears. However, her attention is drawn up as she glances up towards the three falling figures.

With a twist of her legs she digs her nails, which are very long now that you see them, into the ground and throws back her head, screaming out a horrific sound that causes a panic in you, your hands instinctively covering your ears as the three attackers drop to the ground, only one able to land successfully.

She lunges towards one of them and lands atop them, her long nails flashing like metal as she swipes down across the man's face and neck, inevitably causing some horrific damage.

The standing man and the woman who landed on her back haven't recovered yet, now's your chance!

You fling three senbon at both the woman on the ground and the man next to her. They fall backwards and you clap your hands together, ready to fling them apart as both of them are surrounded by a puff of white smoke. When it clears you see two logs from nearby with your needles in them. They're around, but hidden.

The man on the ground cries out for help as he tries to push the little girl off of him, succeeding, but only having her leap on his back now and start ripping at his exposed underarms, neck, chest and sides.

The unfortunate victim collapses onto the ground, shaking slightly and probably in shock. Kaoru stands up, glancing around, her eyes extremely green now as she appears to be tracking them by movement. She licks the blood off one hand and finally turns to face you.

She hasn't charged...yet...but she may.

You point up at the trees and she rapidly flicks her head around, scanning for any signs of them before crouching again, leaning over forward to draw in all the air she can and then throwing out a sound that causes the senbon in the logs to snap from the sheer pressure and chakra-enhanced vibrations her voice is emitting. You hide behind a tree and watch as bark is thrown past you from the scream.

When it stops you look back and see all the leaves on the trees have been blasted off their limbs. One of the shinobi in question is lying on the ground, blood flowing from his ears. Kaoru moves to slash him but a long tendril of cloth shoots down from an overhead branch, picking her up as its owner uses the tree as a fulcrum, dangling her. It's Akita, holding a huge bolt of cloth. As he does so he flicks his left hand and the other masked man soars in and places a tag on the cloth. Kaoru loses her green eyes and falls over limp in an instant.

You rush over to the wounded man and wrap him in the chain, holding the spiked end to his neck. "Can you hear me?" He nods, tears and blood pooling at his chin as he faces you. "I can't hear well...but I can hear."

"He's not a danger," the bespectacled girl mutters weakly, "Let him live." Emiko frowns, "What if he comes to be trouble later? He saw your face." The bigger woman thrusts an accusing finger towards Emiko.

You grudgingly accept and carry the man to the previous camp site and hang him up there before releasing a scroll Akita gave you, which launches a signal up into the air.

You return quickly, a bit exhausted from the constant movement in such a short time to find your team gathering around the enemy's small camp. The "camp" is more of a gathering of two small tents around a miniature campfire.

Kaoru adjusts her glasses and informs you all that they have all fled, as you would have expected. After she checks for traps with her intense scanning eyes you all drop into the camp and root around for any leftover pieces of evidence.

"Found something!" Akita calls out hefting a headband. You all gather around it and see something odd, a Leaf headband with a slash cut into it

Eventually the three of you stop outside a small village and Emiko groans, "How hard is it for people to see three shinobi running at night?" She removes her mask and looks down, "Well, ladies, at least we have a chance for some fun. This town's got a big bar! Who's up for some drinking?"

Kaoru mutters softly, "But...we're on a mission." Emiko waves her hand, apparently a bit more magnanimous feeling, "Don't worry about it, even on a mission we need to rest. Come on, let's have some fun. Hikari, back me up?" Emiko says with a smile to you.
