Hello all, sorry for the awkward run time but I only have when I have. Hope you all enjoyed last thread and enjoy this one as well. Nothing other than that, so let’s get started.

>Fate Point:1
>Money: $240
>Equipment: Tier 1 Assault Rifle. Tier 1 Armor (+2 wounds). Tier 1 Pistol. Standard Ammo (4). Tier 1 Knife. Tier 1 Bandolier (2). (Carry Capacity, 1 Ammo, 1 Misc) Tier 0 Rucksack. (Carry Capacity 2.) Clothes (3). Blanket (4). Quality Lighter. Tier 1 Med-kit. Tier 2 Med-kit. Tier 1 Toolkit.

Your name…is William. As your mind wakes from a deep black sleep you find yourself wrapped up in blankets, slightly sore from the equipment you never took off and mildly hungry from the smell of food that drifts under your door. As the morning fog lifts from your mind you start to remember last night and you…

>Shoot up and run to the armory. Mission today, missions mean being useful. Useful is good, useful is safe.
>Quiver under your blankets. No, no, they’re going to shoot you, they haven’t let you be useful enough, they’re going to put you on the line.
>…what? Nothing’s wrong. Nothing happened last night at all…in fact the last thing you remember is eating at Doc’s. You should probably go eat breakfast now, Mary might worry.
>Other.

I'm not sure which answer is more disturbing.

Rushing to be useful people might just think Will's being energetic to slowly catch on that he's terrified and working extra hard. Jittery and the like.

Nothing happened might be more disturbing in the long run if people realize he's got gaps in his memory.

Quivering pisses people off gets Will into shit at first and then possibly Morrigan. Internal strife etc.

The best part is all are in character because as previous threads have shown Will suffers from all of the mentioned.

This is just how he is handleing this particular day.

Your feet are under you before you even realize you’re up. Luckily you don’t have to go back, your boots are still on your feet and your clothes aren’t that dirty, you only wore them yesterday. You’re down the hallway before you can see if anyone is even in their rooms still, dashing past the lounge area without checking if anyone is even there. The steps sound more like a rampaging elephant is on them than however much you weigh and you don’t even notice if the door to the kitchen is open or not.

The armory door is though, it’s open and safety lies there, safety in helping and being useful. Before you know it you’re inside, armors already laid out on the table. The armors are ok to touch, they aren’t in the lockers. You can probably touch your gun, they let you touch it since it’s yours. Is it yours? Maybe not but they let you use it so you can probably check it out.

You’ve checked all of the armors, even Bellona’s extra set just in case it’s needed for something, anything. Things should still be useful even if they aren’t going to be used right now right?

As you have your own gear lain out before you and are checking it you think you hear the armory door open, but you don’t turn around. You’re being useful now; they don’t do anything to you when you’re being useful besides maybe a cuff to the head.

“Will,” says a voice.

You still work, there’s nothing wrong, nothing’s wrong…

“Will,” says the voice more sharply, closer.

Nope, you’re ok, you’re ok…

“Will!” says the voice loudly and from behind you.

You freeze as the voice finally sounds from right behind you, your hands still in the process of putting your gun back together. If you can just finish this you can ask them what you’re going to do next right? Missions always have plenty of stuff for you to do, it’s not like they’re going to…to shoot you or anything right?

“Will,’ says the voice, which you finally recognize as Morrigan’s causing you to freeze even stiffer if that was possible, “put the rifle down Will.”

Your hands hover in midair for a few more seconds, parts of your disassembled rifle still clutched in them before you slowly set them down with dull metallic clunks.

“Good,” says Morrigan’s carefully leveled voice, “Now I want you to turn around and look at me Will.”

You lock up there as well. Turning around you can do, but looking you aren’t supposed to do, you’re not. So you manage to turn around, slowly and find yourself so close to Morrigan that you can still nearly see her despite looking down. So you back up…but you run against the table and can’t go any farther as the boots follow you.

“Will,” says Morrigan’s voice, “Look at me Will.”

You don’t…you can’t…but Morrigan is the boss and she’s telling you to do it, so you do. You slowly look up to her, up her legs and her torso to her face. Her face is…concerned.

“Will,” she says again, watching you very carefully, “What’s wrong? Is this about last night?”

>No, no of course not, she didn’t do anything to you at all last night of course not…
>Nod your head.

You ignore Morrigan’s question in favor of one of your own, one that you always like to have answered.

“Can I help?” you ask her, desperately trying not to think about last night or anything related to it. Nope, just trying to be helpful, helpful is good Morrigan liked it when you were helpful she wasn’t…she didn’t…

Morrigan looks at you and her eyes tighten up, enough to cause you to flinch back. Then you hear her sigh and reach down to her side. Is this it? Is she going to shoot you now for not being helpful? You hope not, all the stuff is behind you and it’ll get dirty again.

But Morrigan doesn’t pull out her pistol only a cigarette.

“Sure Billy,” she says, switching to your other name again, “You can help, give me a light.”

She puts the cigarette to her lips and you pull out your lighter with suddenly less shaky hands, carefully lighting her cigarette before putting your lighter back in your pocket. You briefly wonder why Morrigan hasn’t taken it from you yet with all the trouble she has with hers.

Morrigan takes a puff on her cigarette, carefully blowing the smoke away from you before she speaks again.

“Now Billy,” she says, her voice calm, “Why are you like this? Is this about last night?”

You can’t…you…you nod your head.

“Getting shot hurts,” you say, remembering the only time you got shot, the one that merely grazed your arm. You were lucky, you managed to bandage it up and it healed so there’s only a scar. All the others who got shot, all the screaming, let you know those hurt a lot worse.

Morrigan looks at you, her eyes sad again.

“Billy,” she says, “remember my story, about the little girl and the bad men?”

You nod your head, you don’t think you could forget that.

“Well, I said I wasn’t going to hit you then right?”

You nod your head again.

“And you said you trusted me, right?”

You nod your head, slowly.

“Well that’s also why I’m not going to shoot you, ever. If someone tries to shoot you you shoot them back, got it?”

You freeze at that. Morrigan’s not going to shoot you? But…But…

Morrigan takes another puff on her cigarette as you freeze up again and then does something really strange.

“Billy,” she says, still puffing away, “Since you remember why I told you my story in the first place, how about you tell me a story.”

You look up at her, confused. What story would you have to tell her?

“I want you to tell me why you think you’re going to get shot,” she says, “if you trust me so much you can tell me just one little story like that, right?”

You…do you trust Morrigan that much? Can you…can you tell? Are you allowed to tell?

The sight of the man with the pistol drifts into your mind once more, that evil look on his face as he points his pistol at you.

>No…no, you can’t you can’t do that.
>Shake your head no. You trust Morrigan, but the man will get you, he always comes back.
>Morrigan…Morrigan can know right? Just one person knowing won’t hurt? She said she won’t hit you…won’t shoot you? You can trust her, the man won’t find out, right?

That be really fucked up, I mean its not like I cant see where you are coming from. A brainwashed, repressed Will as the camp repairman/executioner because having one of their own do it would keep the child soliders in line. Also would explain why he executed the coward priest so blatantly instead of just not defending him.

On the other hand Will is really fucked up as is and that seems a bit 3edgy5me
>>
>>38491004

Making one of the children execute others does actually make a bit of sense. It confirms the absolute power that the handler had over the children.
>>
>>38491078
Well >>38490929 here.

I'm not saying Will was the executioner. At least I don't think he was...

I was just saying that. Will did kill the Priest in the first thread. The joke from the other guy initially was I think.. That Will became the man with the gun in the end. He executed the priest.

You crumple down to the floor and then sit there, quivering under Morrigan’s gaze as she asks you to trust her, to trust her with one of your stories…a story you didn’t even know was a story. Is it? Is it a story you can tell?

The man with the pistol is hovering there, right in your face. He’s always there…always…

“Billy,” says Morrigan, drawing your attention causing you to look up once more, only to find her crouched down at your level, “You can trust me, I promise.”

Those words…when was…when was the last time someone promised you something?

You look up and see the man’s pistol pointed at you, that sadistic grin he always had as he made you run forward. You watch as his finger moves towards the trigger, savoring the moment…and then you watch as his head explodes, Morrigan suddenly coming into view with that fiery look she has on her face when you get in a fight.

You blink, suddenly seeing the real Morrigan crouched in front of you, waiting for you to tell her your story. So you tell her. You tell her about the man with the pistol and how he made you and all of the others charge forwards while he always stayed back. How he was the one who always woke you with a kick and a hit…how he wasn’t happy when they took you with the adults and got taught, got made valuable because you could help. He never did like that…he was the one who kicked you so much that your ribs hurt for so long. He was always there, always watching if you made a mistake, did something wrong. Sometimes even if you didn’t do something wrong and he was just mad. He never got to shoot you…but you could tell he wanted to even after, even after…
>>
>>38491363

“After what Billy?” asks Morrigan her eyes still on you.

You tell her about the time…the time the man died. After a mission they always cleaned the field, always checked if there were any kids worth taking back. The man always accompanied these sweeps, always shot the ones who weren’t going to back. You remember watching from a distance as he approached one of the ids, a younger one who was struggling on the ground. He yelled at him to get up, but he wouldn’t. So he just shot him. It turned out the kid had been struggling to hold onto the spoon of a grenade, so when he shot him…well it had rolled out and touched his foot, causing him to look down right before it went off.

Nobody could help him after that.

Morrigan looks down at you, her eyes seemingly dark after the story.

“Is that it?” she asks, making sure you’re done.

You nod your head yes, your throat dry from talking.

Morrigan lets out a sigh, rubbing her head as she puts out her cigarette on the ground.

“That’s…that’s one hell of a story Billy,” she says, her eyes, blue you finally notice, “I…I really can’t say much about it. But the man, the one you’re so scared of?”

You nod, flinching a bit.

“He’s not coming back, ever, you got that?”

“…really?” you ask her, unable to believe such a thing.

“Yeah,” she says, “and if he does, tell me and I’ll make him go away again really fast.”

“…even if you’re asleep?”

“Even if I’m asleep,” says Morrigan, a tired smile coming onto her face as she stands up, “I promise.” She sticks out her hand to you where you sit on the ground.

Oh and while a few of you had the right idea for one of Will's possible issues, you picked the wrong Will. If you had picked "killed" in the prologue thread, you would've killed other kids and possibly sublimated it.

You look up at Morrigan, her hand, the promise behind it…and you take it. Morrigan hauls you upright, you helping of course, until you’re standing once more.

“Are you…ok?” she asks you.

You nod. You feel…different at least, even if you don’t know why or even if you think the man might still come back. Morrigan said…Morrigan promised she would help. That’s enough for right now.

“Alright,” says Morrigan, patting you on the back as she lets go of your hand, “Now go eat, I don’t want you going and passing out on me because you didn’t eat breakfast.”

You nod at Morrigan and then move to go around her and head towards the kitchen.

“Hey Billy,” Morrigan calls out from behind you, causing you to turn and look at her.

“Good job with the gear,” she says, nodding at the neatly laid out armor and ammo.

You nod, a warm feeling filling you as you go into the kitchen where Mary is waiting with a big pile of breakfast food and some trail rations as well. You notice that there’s more than last time, presumably you’re going a lot farther than before.

After you finish eating and start to pack, everyone gathers in the armory, Morrigan explaining the mission.

“Alright,” she says, rolling out a big map, “Mary got us a job, pretty big one. We’ll be gone for a few days at least, so make sure you’re prepared, might want to stop and pick up something if you think you need it.”

“Where are we going?” asks Nem.

“Salina,” says Morrigan, pointing at the map, “Fifty miles away, that’s while we’ll be gone a few days.’

“Taking horses?” asks Sarah.

“Yes,” says Morrigan, “Mary’s coming along, she’s the only one with a lot of experience with them. She’ll make sure we don’t do anything stupid.”

“What’s the actual mission?” asks Bellona.
>>
>>38492531
“Scouting,” says Morrigan, “those documents we gathered last mission have the army spooked, possible large gathering of bandits, possibly in more than rabble formations.”

“That’s not good,” says Nem, Cath nodding.

“Right,” says Morrigan, “Which is why I don’t plan on engaging, just a simple snoop and scoot if we can. We’ll get close with the horses, then walk the rest of the way so we don’t draw attention. Scout out the town, see if we can find anything, then get the hell out. Any questions?”

Everyone else shakes their heads.

“Alright, last minute gear grab if you need it, otherwise we’re headed out.

>Will can currently carry 4 items with the gear he has. Assuming one for ammo and one for food, that leaves room for one small and one big item. Don't think the big one will do us much good. Will has basically no experience or training, and most of the stuff in a backpack taken from an amublance should be airway and circulation management, as well as a bit of advanced trauma life support. The only thing that will be of much use to any of these guys are bandages, medical tape, esmarch bandages and maybe splints. All of which should be in the small one.

“So many customers,” she says, “New ones too.” She sees Morrigan, causing her grin to get even bigger. “Morrigan, you came back to me!”

Morrigan grumbles at her. “You have good stuff, don’t mean I have to enjoy your company.”

“Oh come now,” Kok says, “We all get what we want, you gear and I money.”

“Yeah yeah,” says Morrigan, “Show us the goods.”

“Certainly,” says Koko, “I even have new stock in.”

>>
As to all of the "can we carry more" questions.

Currently, no. One slot is one slot and you get one bandolier, one rucksack plus what is available for the horses to carry on the way there.

Stuff on your bandolier is small and easily accessed, stuff in the backpack you can carry with you but requires a bit of time to grab.

Stuff on the horses is on the horses.

Currently only consensus I'm seeing is buying the Tier 1 rucksack and a few sell options.

You already have 3 ammo's, so you don't really need to buy more at the moment.

So. What I've seen.

We'll wrap stuff up in the blankets to take back. Also we are scouting assuming things go right there won't be loot and its more likely we will need to fix a weapon or something.

In the end you decide that you really only need the better rucksack at the moment. Nem and Cath seem to agree, both of them also buying the bigger packs. Morrigan and Bellona don’t buy anything and Sarah starts to buy some better armor, before Bellona stops her.

“I’ve got the extra set,” she says, “You can have it if you give me that one.”

“Really?” asks Sarah.

“Keeping you alive keeps me alive,” says Bell.

“Ok then,” says Sarah, both of them going back to MMS quickly to trade, Bellona selling off the worse quality armor when she gets back.

With that everyone, including Mary who only seems to have a backpack full of extra food and things to help with the horses, heads to the barn, where you get on and start riding mostly southwest. You don’t make a much better time than when you’re walking, but it’s much easier on you than if you were doing it yourself. Since you started out relatively early Morrigan says you’ll ride most of the day, camp and then walk the rest of the way.

As you ride you…

Nice.

So.

Anons.

Out of all the girls in the company, who would win in an all-out battle royale to the death?

My vote is for Mary.
>>
>>38494672
We know nothing of her beyond that she is most soscial, so I'm inclined to agree.
>>
>>38494672
Depends on the field. Sarah would probably win if they started off far away from each other. Close up, I'd say Bellona. Especially if Will is the reward for surviving.
>>
>>38494672
They've all got varied skills. It's too hard to give a solid estimate. It would come down to luck.
>>
>>38494672
It really is a luck/positioning thing. Cath would win in hand to hand without weapons, I think Nem would win if it was just knives, but Bell might be better than her, Sarah from afar. Morrg is really just a leader and has no spec in combat. Mary is Mary so who the hell knows.
>>
Next question:

What sentimental items are the girls carrying with them? What little bits and pieces have they found on their journeys?

Bonus: If Will had a favorite stuffed animal, what would it be?
>>
>>38494818
We actually don't know what Sarah's firearms skill is. Morrigan is sitting with a +5.

>>38494819
No idea. We'll have to speak with them.

Will can't remember his favorite. It was destroyed in a crash.
>>
>>38494818
Morrigan is technically the best we have at firearms, she has a +5.

So, mid range with guns, she'd probably win based on the raw stats we have.
>>
>>38494819
morgian her dad's dog tags
>>
>>38494819
>Bonus: If Will had a favorite stuffed animal, what would it be?
A blanket.
>>
>>38494819
Morrigan carries a picture of her dad
Sarah carries her rifle from her former team
Nem carries a gift from her thievery mentor
Bellona carries a love letter
Cath carries the pelt of the wolf who raised her
>>
>>38494818
She'd probably stare them all to death. I mean, she is Rider.

>>38494819
Anything stuffed would be fine for Will. He could stay in his room all day just hugging his blankets if he could.
>>
>>38494819

It would be a toy fabric bird and Will would whisper all of his secrets, fears, and pains to it while curled up in a dark corner. Then the bird would fly away with them.

Will has always wanted to fly like a bird and be free.
>>
>>38494925
But can Seras kill servants?
>>
>>38494865
Bel has a locket with a picture of Will and FILE NOT FOUND
>Stuffed animal
either a bird of some kind or teddy bear, cause honestly Will is just like a bear. he looks cute and helpless but could easily maul you
>>
>>38494931
Actually. I don't think Will would like birds.

He's watched them pick at the dead far too often. After you see a raven pluck the eye out of an eight year old you really don't care for them.
>>
>>38494925
Actually Will's obsession for blankets, at least as far as I can tell, comes from the fact that the first item he received after the hellish nightmare that was his former life was over, was a blanket from one of the soldiers that rescued him.

That and they are fluffy and warm but the first part makes it feel like its deeper seated.

Last question from me:

If Will ever found himself alone, what would he hum to himself? Is he a good dancer?

Are any of the girls good dancers? Do they like music?
>>
>>38495110
>would he hum to himself?
What Cath hummed to him.
>>
>>38495110
Does Will even know what music is?
>>
>>38495110
He didn't know what Cath was doing when she hummed to him a few days back. Going by that, he doesn't really understand the concept of music, and has never danced before either.
>>
>>38495110
Will would sit down and stare at a wall, or go mad because there is nothing to do.
>>
Then he needs to hear music.

Music is so good for the soul and the mind. There has to be music somewhere, like in the bar or something.
>>
>>38495110
He's not a good dancer he's not familiar with the concept. If he is.. it's that thing you do when they shoot at your feet for fun.

He doesn't know what humming is.
>>
>>38495168
He probably has heard it but dismissed it as noise. It isn't useful. It's a frivolous activity that inflames passions.
>>
>>38495168
Couple of days back I was driving in my car and was thinking of the quest and the bar cause we had just had the Alcohol Tolerance thread.

As you ride, you somehow naturally fall in next to Nem, who seems to be as comfortable on her horse as you are, which means she can mostly make it go the direction she seems to want but not a whole lot more. Yours at least seems to be willing to follow the others without a problem.

“How’re you doing their Billy?” asks Nem after a few hours.

“Ok,” you say, watching the horizon as you all follow the roads towards your destination, “Are you ok?”

“I’m fine, just bored,” says Nem, despite watching the horizon, “I’ve ridden a little before, but not a lot. Prefer my feet. Let’s you dodge around things and hide better than one of these big lugs.” Despite her words she reaches down and lightly pats her horse’s neck.

“They’re a lot faster at a dead sprint though,” she says, “and make it easier to get around in places like this when you don’t have fuel for cars and trucks around.”

You nod, copying her motion and carefully patting your horse on the neck, to which it turns around briefly and looks at you before putting its head back forwards.

“I miss the city,” Nem continues, “Everything close by, no need for horses if you know where to look. The country is too big.” She turns and gives you one of her big smiles. “That’s why I like close quarters, reminds me of home.”

You nod along, letting Nem talk. She seems to like that, it’s probably not quite helpful, but it doesn’t hurt.

“You should come out with me around town sometime,” she says, “I can show you some of my skill even if you are a little bigger than I am.”
>>
>>38495173
This has me wondering if there are any wandering musicians out there that might pop into town
>>
>>38495368
You nod, you don’t spend much time with Nem, maybe you should?

After that there’s a little conversation back and forth between team members, but not a lot.

Eventually you make it close to your destination and Morrigan calls a halt near a small grouping of houses that looks a little bit too small to call a town, but is grouped similarly. You stop in a barn looking structure that has “US Postal Service” above the door. When you stop Mary makes you all take care of your horses, getting them water from several of the nearby ponds and such. You make sure yours is well taken care of, so if you do need to use it more it’s ready. It seems to like you, it doesn’t snort at you as much as the other one at least.

Morrigan sets you on watches again, the same as last time. Nem grumbles again, but there are no real complaints. Mary gets to sleep the whole night since she’s staying with the horses.

After a relatively peaceful watch with Morrigan, you both crawl into your blankets, sleeping for tomorrow’s mission.

>>38496822
I don't think she was worried he was going to shoot up the place or anything. I mean he was clearly double checking/cleaning/readying gear.

I'm just surprised no one else reacted to him tearing ass down the stairs.
>>
>>38496946
He most likely woke everyone up who wasn't already.
>>
>>38497006
Right. But Bell and Cath seem extremely protective of him.

And Cath at least has seen him long enough to know that the race down the stairs was extremely out of character.
>>
>>38497026
Personally I think all the girls think of us as a little brother type save Bella (who wants to jump our bones) and Sarah (who really doesn't know us so she doesn't seem to have an opinion)
>>
>>38497196
Hmm. Maybe.

It's been openly stated that Will is attractive.

Morrigan has offered to let us sleep with her though. Not sure if that was intended as just sleeping or more much later.

Some of Cath's nuzzling when she was intoxicated seem'd a bit over the "Little brother" line.

Nem.. is probably in the little brother category? That or she's in the same boat as Sarah.
>>
>>38497352
Morri for sure didn't mean for us to have sex with her and I doubt she was planning on it for later
Cath, yeah, but she may just be one of those kinds of drunks, who knows!? I agree with you there.
I think Nem is there, that moment with Bell was classic.

You can be attractive and around women and they still don't see you that way
>>
>>38497519
I'm still on the fence about Morrigan. She finds him attractive and if he was stable.. or.. well more stable I don't think she'd be opposed to a relationship.

I don't think she'd do anything with him now. Except maybe hug.

Cath and Bell are the ones I'm on the fence with.

Bell I think might start doing.. Adult things with him now. And he's not ready. I don't think she'd intend to hurt him or anything but Toosoon.jpg.

Cath.. falls into that.. I'm not sure category.

She's pretty damn screwed up herself.. so it's hard to tell where she'd draw the line.

Either way I don't think any of the relationship shit will show up for a good while.
>>
>>38497682
When did she say he was attractive? I might have missed that.
His first hug is going to be suitably awkward for both parties
>Why are you trying to restrain me?
Bell would totally bang him given the chance! But only after she gets him to admit he is interested since the other girls would probably murder her.
For Cath, that's what I was thinking as well.

Yeah, no waifuing till a couple hundred threads
>>
>>38497800

>Few hundred threads

>>
>>38497894
