Because first of all, the milf and Y'zoa we didn't choose because they were the ideals of our bros.
We didn't choose Sho'ka because we assumed that she'd come to us on her own, since we said females could choose their own mates from now on.
We chose K'zala because she's young, special, and good at sneaking, partially. The orcish ideal is being strong, not necessarily a specific body type, and K'zala killed more than Sho'ka during the fight, for instance.
Afterwards, we took slaves, raped an ogress and took her as a slave, took more slaves, the strongest female we could find for a mate, took the strongest elf we could find for a slave, and took the leader of the human troops at the Skyhunter battle for a slave.
Ur has by no means been an incredibly unorthodox leader so far, remember that the previous chief also took K'zala as a mate, and he was by no means a reformer, plus this could be another reason for claiming her, taking what used to be the chief's.
Ur has done his fair share of raping, pillaging, fighting, killing, hunting, etc.
There has been no talk of a stronger family unit either, except for maybe our eventual dragonwaifu because dragonchildren would be damn strong, and good to have either as personal guard, or at least secure loyalty. There's nothing wrong with the current system in any case, and Ur has been pretty believing in the Orcish values and gods so far.
Now I'm not saying we won't change ANYTHING(letting females choose mates was already somewhat unusual, I'd be fine with decreasing illiteracy, or settling down for a longer period), but there's no reason to change that, or to really want to break from the previous kingdom's traditions, the reason it fell was BECAUSE they left the Orcish traditions and became lazy and stopped fighting and bettering themselves.

“Alright, I've got one for you, Bra'kur. I don't think Zo'rok's heard this one either,” you grin.

“I bet it doesn't have seven nymph sisters,” Bra'kur smirks, shrugging.

“It was only six a minute ago,” Zo'rok snorts.

“No nymphs at all. I've never even met a nymph,” you grunt.

“No, this story is about my first battle with the horror Lorsyth.”

“All your stories are about horrors, why does the Abyss hate you so much?” Bra'kur snorts.

“Maybe it's afraid of me,” you grin, earning a laugh from your two lieutenants.

“At the time, I didn't know entirely what was happening, but Ku'zag says the most likely explanation is that Zul'orok Zhar drew me into a temporary dream realm formed by Za'zarag and Lorsyth's minds. All I knew is that I fell asleep and woke up in some misty wasteland of sharp rocks and fungus. Unfortunately, Zul'orok Zhar hadn't seen fit to give me my weapons or armor in the dream, so I wandered naked and unarmed through the dream realm until I found high ground to figure out where I was.”

“If the story ends with you beating Lorsyth to death with your dick I'm calling bullshit right now,” Zo'rok laughs.

“No, never beaten a horror to death with my dick... at least not yet” you grin.

“Anyway, I climbed the mound and spotted some twitchy orc skulking around, went down to greet him. It was Za'zarag, the real one, although I didn't know it at the time. Speaking to him, I started to realize where I was, trapped in a dream realm, the only way out being to break free by escaping Lorsyth's control.

Za'zarag suggested moving far away enough to leave the dream while he distracted Lorsyth for me, but there was no way I was going to do that. If Lorsyth controlled the way out, the only true orcish way to resolve this was to beat it out of him.”

“Damn right,” Bra'kur laughs, slapping you on the shoulder.

“The Lorsyth in this world was ugly enough, but the one in the dream realm was even worse, like a cockroach the size of a troll. Za'zarag called it up and we fought it, it was a long, brutal battle, the thing was powerful, strong in its own realm, and I was armed with no more than a sharp rock picked up off the ground.

Even if Lorsyth was strong, tough and mean, he was no match for me. I struck a solid blow to his head, cracking the chitin and sending the creature whimpering back to its filthy abyssal lords. That wasn't all though, Lorsyth sent a wave of his minions after us as he fled, and I fought off dozens more strange chitinous things until the dream realm broke apart. The Abyss learned what it means to cross Ur'shal that day,” you grin.

“You killed a horror with a sharp rock? I'm not sure I buy this one either,” Zo'rok laughs.

“Indeed, the Great Bra'kur suspects some lies in your tale, chieftain.” Bra'kur adds, nodding sagely.

“Fine, you got me, I made up the bit about the minions, the rest though, all true. With a sharp... fucking... rock,” you grin widely, raising your cup.

“You're something else, Ur,” Zo'rok laughs, joining you in raising his cup.

“Impressive,” Bra'kur agrees, raising his cup in turn, the three of you downing the rest of your drinks.

“I feel left behind, need to earn myself some more real glory soon, get a few good stories to tell,” Zo'rok sighs.

“Maybe find yourself a nymph princess and her eight sisters,” you grin, Zo'rok cackling.

“Just you two wait, someday the Great Bra'kur will find a nymph with twenty sisters, then we'll see who's laughing,” Bra'kur snorts.
