The two of them start to play a hand. "There's no point. I heal them, and they go off to die anyway." Tsunade starts. "Especially the Hokage. Your predecessors and your successor, throwing their lives away all for the sake of the village? Money is one thing, but a life's another. To risk your life against all the odds? That's a sucker's bet. They lost their lives alright, and the village is no safer than it ever was."

Next to you, Konohamaru is trembling with anger.

"You've changed, Tsunade." the Third replies. "I could never have imagined that you would say such things."

First of all, I never fucking agreed to that. Second, just because you're upset doesn't mean you suddenly gain a completely different personality.

Too many people are playing this as what they *think* a thirteen year old would be like rather than what would be consistent and reasonable for a character who's been long since established as fairly reasonable, friendly, and generally decent.

You decide to join Konohamaru in his endeavors.

On his first try of the day, Konohamaru manages to summon a small monkey that crawls up to perch on his shoulder, and then speaks."

Konohamaru is ecstatic. "Oh yeah, this one can talk! I'm getting closer and closer to summoning Enma!"

Konohamaru isn't discouraged, and spends the next week at practice.

You yourself, manage to make some progress. Over the course of the week, you manage to summon three more new monkeys, and choose between them consciously.

The new monkeys you've met are known as Mizaru, Kikazaru, and Iwazaru. They seem to be proficient in genjutsu, though you haven't found a way to get them to work well with you quite yet.

After a week has passed, you and Konohamaru wake up one morning to find that Sarutobi Sensei never returned for the night, which strikes you as odd.

Nearby, Shizune spots Tsunade's jacket. She has her pig Tonton sniff it, and lead you farther out of town.

You all arrive just in time to interrupt a battle in progress.

You all appear with the assistance of a smoke bomb, and stop Tsunade from being struck. A ways away, a man addresses the Third.

"It's been a long time, Sarutobi Sensei." he says.

Your teacher responds. "That it has, Orochimaru."

You then notice just who it was attacking Tsunade. It's Kabuto Yakushi from back in the Chunin exams.
