You look on as Sasuke and his double exchange blows, swords darting back and forth with a speed and precision achievable only thanks to the use of the sharingan. Sasuke is keeping up for now, but by the look on his face he seems a bit out of it. While they duel, you take note of Madara hovering above. Given his position and ghostly appearance, you're not sure if he can actually be attacked at all.

"I don't know what you are, but if you're trying to get me to stop, it's no use!" the other Sasuke tells your friend. "As long as you wear those headbands, you're my enemies!"

As you approach, the two Sasukes break off. The one in purple looks in your direction, and you get ready to dodge, an idea of what's coming next.

"I don't care who you are, it's all the same!" he shouts, before unleashing his attack. You see his left eye start to bleed. "Amaterasu!"

You duck out of the way of the black flames just in time, finding cover nearby. The flames follow you, but while you're in hiding, Sasuke puts them out with his Kagutsuchi. The two Sasukes then go back to their duel, but you're sure the other one is still keeping his eye out for you. You'll have to be careful about how you approach this battle.

You'll probably have much better luck here in Sage Mode. At least then you can reliably dodge Amaterasu.

You sit and begin to meditate to gather nature chakra. It takes a couple of minutes, but you're sure Sasuke can hold out just fine. Once you feel like you've gathered enough, you emerge and join the fray.

The first thing you see is a clash between the two Sasukes. Your friend with a Rasenkiri like he used in his exam fight, and the other with some kind of Chidori combined with his black flames. Your friend is on the losing end of that struggle, and is launched back into the wall of the ravine. He falls to the ground, and barely manages to use Kagutsuchi to put the flames out before he can take too much damage. He gets himself back up, but he doesn't look too good.

You look back to the other Sasuke to see a purple figure being created around him.

"Was that the rasengan? What a joke." he laughs, before turning serious again. "Are you just trying to get me angry or something? You want to see my full power? Fine, I'll crush you with everything I have! Susanoo!"

He rushes forward towards you.

Susanoo. The strongest Mangekyo Sharingan technique. You haven't seen it in action before, but from how Neji praised it, it must be quite something. It will probably take the both of you to defeat it.

"Sasuke!" you shout to your friend. "Go and enter Sage Mode! I can hold him off for a while!"

Sasuke takes a second to react, but nods and ducks off to find cover, leaving you face to face with the other Sasuke. As the chakra construct rushes you, you dodge the swing of its giant sword.

"Does that 'me' really need to depend on you to save him?" your friend's doppelganger asks you. "Is he that weak? It makes me sick. I need to hurry up and get the two of you out of my sight for good."

The giant makes a few more swings, all of which you dodge. You pay careful attention, but the Susanoo around him is like armor. You can't see any obvious opportunities to hit him. Eventually the other Sasuke gets very irritated and tries a new tactic. He coats the Susanoo's sword in his black flames. This attack is probably a lot more dangerous than the last.

If those flames hit you, you're basically done for. You have to make sure that doesn't happen.

"Having friends doesn't make him weak." you insist. "Just like you relying only on yourself doesn't make you strong."

You opponent disregards your objection and attacks, swinging his sword in your direction. A wave of black flames extends from the blade, threatening to engulf you. You quickly make the hand seals and perform a jutsu to negate it.

"Impact Sage Art: Shattershot!"

You fire a burst of Impact chakra forward, hitting the black flames. The result is the flames bursting out in all directions out of control. Both you and the other Sasuke are sent flying away from each other into the walls of the ravine.

The other Sasuke puts out the flames around him with Kagutsuchi immediately, then gets up. His Susanoo armor seems to have negated most of the damage.

"What the hell was that jutsu..." He wonders aloud. "Whatever. It won't be enough to defeat me."

You meanwhile, hit the wall and land back on your feet, but in a panic. The black flames are on you, and you know there is no way to put them out. Luckily for you, Sasuke arrives just in time and does away with them for you.

"That was pretty reckless, Kon." he tells you. "If you're going to do that, it might be a good idea to have some backup handy."

You nod, and the two of you, now both in Sage Mode, face down Sasuke's alternate self.

"You two are just mocking me with all this, aren't you?" he shouts. "Especially you! Looking like me, using Naruto's techniques... If you think you're getting some kind of point across here, you're dead wrong!"

The other Sasuke charges his Susanoo's sword with lightning this time, and charges again.

We lure him up into the air with a few choice words, then Sasuke distracts him at a key moment. We fly in with another Shattershot, while Sasuke is just beneath him with a Rasenkiri for him to impale himself on. We follow up as the hammer to Sasuke's anvil with our new jutsu.

So since you're using it, what's the name of your new jutsu?

Well, I still want a Sage Art: Kongōsho, because that fits Kon's character arc pretty well for him to name something like that. But it doesn't really fit the move so I'm resigning myself to calling our big final attack at the very end of the series. For this, I think "Seiuntama" does work pretty well, though my personal inclination is to call it by the translation, instead. It translates to "Nebula Sphere", and I just think that sounds cooler.

Lightning. That will be much easier to handle.

"Sasuke, his Susanoo can take a whole lot of damage." you say. "We need to give it everything we've got to break through."

"Alright." Sasuke responds. "I'll follow your lead, then."

As the other Sasuke charges you, his Susanoo's sword brandished with lightning, you erect an Impact barrier to slow the attack down. You need to get close for this next part.

When the sword hits the barrier, you jump forward and start focusing the Impact chakra in your palm. Shaping it, then expanding it. You place your hand on the sword, and at that moment, draw all the Impact chakra inward.

"Impact Sage Art: Nebula Sphere!"

The electricity instantly dissipates from the blade, and you can hear it creaking with stress.

"What is this?" the alternate Sasuke asks. "What are you doing to my Susanoo?"

You can see cracks start to form on the blade. With one final push, you bring all the chakra in at once, crushing the sword entirely.

Your opponent backs up, stunned.

"No! I won't lose here!" he shouts hysterically. "Not to you fools! I have things I have to accomplish! You won't stop me from destroying the Leaf Village!"

As he rants, Sasuke hits him from behind with a Rasenkiri. It doesn't get through the armor entirely, but you see it make some cracks. The two of you can break it. Seeing this, Sasuke's doppelganger starts to go wild, spamming Amaterasu as far as he can see. Sasuke has to quickly back up to avoid it, as do you.

Both of you are starting to get drained. You don't have a lot of time left.

We can maintain the Nebula Sphere without having to touch it so long as we remain in close range, right? Because that "strained before finally being destroyed as we fully implode it" bit makes me think of how tokusatsu heroes tend to hit the opponent with one final attack as they pass by them, then pose as the enemy convulses and is destroyed. We should do that at some point, trap an enemy in one, then walk away a short distance and implode them without looking back. It would be so badass.

We can maintain the Nebula Sphere for a few seconds after setting it off. If Sasuke can hit the heavily condensed Impact/Sage Chakra with an Amaterasu when it's most condensed, and if we take a chunk of the Susanoo with us, the resulting explosion might just punch through the rest of the purple bastard's armor.

As you dodge, you consider your options. It'd be best to finish this with one more attack.

"Sasuke!" you call. "Let's combine our attacks and break through!"

"Of course." he responds. "I'll make you a path so you can get close and use that attack of yours. Then we'll set it off."

"Kagutsuchi!"

Sasuke directs the black flames away from you, as you close in on the other Sasuke. He eventually gives up shooting the flames and tries to hit you, but you manage to dodge and get a hand on him.

"This is the kind of stuff you can pull when you have a friend you can trust." you smirk. "Impact Sage Art: Nebula Sphere!"

You form the sphere again, this time around the entire Susanoo, but you don't compress it this time. This time is different.

"Amaterasu!"

Sasuke releases the black fire from his eye, directly into the center of the Susanoo, and your sphere of Impact chakra. The result is a giant explosion. You can hear the Susanoo shattering. Luckily, Sasuke keeps you from any damage with Kagutsuchi.

When the dust clears, the other Sasuke is laid out on the ground, unmoving. The two of you have faded from Sage Mode as well.

"Interesting combination, you two." you hear from above. "Very entertaining. Now I suppose that will mark the end of your time in this genjutsu world. I hope it hasn't gone to waste. You, Sasuke, should take a good hard look at things. Your clan's very nature was changed, and it was for the better of all, even them. Without it, you would have ended up the same as the boy lying there. If only everyone in this world were so lucky, don't you think?"

Madara laughs and fades away. You and Sasuke begin to glow. You're fading away as well.

"Is that...?" you hear from behind you. It's Naruto. He approaches the other Sasuke. "So this is 'my' Sasuke, huh?"

Naruto stands up and faces you.

"I still don't know if you are real or an illusion or what, but I want to wish you guys good luck, too." Naruto rubs the back of his head. "I don't know how the 'me' you guys know got to be the way you described, but I think he could be reached too. If he could have someone to rely on, that is. I have to believe that. Or else what hope do I have for Sasuke if there's none for me? Anyway, illusion or not, I think we had a fun time. You've given me a lot of motivation to help Sasuke, for sure!"

You and Sasuke wave goodbye to Naruto as you disappear.

"I guess we'll see you. Naruto." Sasuke says, before he disappears entirely from sight.

The two of you reappear in the park you were in earlier. You and Sasuke look around.

"I think we're back, Kon." Sasuke tells you. He goes into Sage Mode momentarily before turning back. "And I don't sense Madara anywhere."

Oh, you have no idea. I was actually typing out a big long post describing everything awful with them, but it's not right to clutter up the thread with that. Just know that the authors go out of their way to come up with the most contrived reasons for Naruto to go evil, because the only plausible one (the one that Laze is using here, that of Naruto being kidnapped and brainwashed at a young age) might force them to acknowledge that his new attitude is wrong and that he's not completely justified in every awful thing he does.

The Hokage doesn't seem to be aware of what happened.

"Well, I can explain exactly what happened." you start. "Sasuke and I were trapped in a genjutsu by Madara. It was pretty extensive, like a whole functioning world. Sasuke and I fought the Sasuke from over there, but I guess the 'me' from there somehow came over here and wandered around."

"That's quite concerning." Itachi folds his arms. "It's a problem that Madara can pull such a thing off so easily. We'll have to step up security."

Sasuke step forward to address his brother.

"Itachi." he says, face entirely serious. "Were you going to kill the clan to prevent the coup?"

Itachi stares his brother down, face unflinching.

"I won't lie to you, Sasuke." he starts. "It was close to coming to that. And I would have, if I had to. Luckily, thanks to Lord Jiraiya, we were able to avoid the worst. I actually have a basic idea for a system where the main resource is units of time you enemy wasn't paying attention to you, so you can spend one point to have retroactively swapped out with a clone, or 4 points to have made a pitfall trap right where your opponent jumped to. It was, actually. Hyuuga and Uchiha doesn't get you a mix of the Sharingan and Byakugan. It gets you a Sharingan in one eye and a Byakugan in the other. I'm not even sure where to begin on figuring out the genetics of that. The best I can think is that it's something like turtleshell markings in female cats, where slight differences in each of the pigmentation genes on the two X chromosomes are expressed by one or the other activating differently throughout the body. But I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work with as complex an organ as the eye. Maybe if it was just changing pigment, that would be something like heterochromia, but not the entire internal structure.

Your hunch proves true, as you arrive at Ichiraku Ramen to find Sai sitting against the side of the stall instead of in front of it. He's doodling randomly on his sketchbook, looking a bit depressed. Until he sees you approach the stall.

Before anyone can come out to greet you, Sai shoots up and pushes you around to the side.

"Just what do you think you're doing, Kon?" he asks. "Are you trying to force my mood even lower than you already have?"

You started talking about going on a date. I was shocked. Ayame seemed confused, but not at odds with the idea. That was when I knew I had no chance. I didn't pay too much attention after that. I think you left because you thought something was odd about the situation, I'm not sure. Anyway, if that wasn't you, then I'm sorry. I shouldn't have jumped to blame you like that."

You feel pretty bad for Sai. He doesn't deserve this.

With that settled, you head back home. You find your uncle there closing up shop.

So honestly what are Kon's chances of being Hokage? They look pretty good to me. Neji and Sasuke are the only competition we have in our age group and Sasuke isn't really looking like leadership material.

Neji is kind of just around, I'm sure he knows a lot about the Hokage's duties and so that, but Kon has been playing diplomat for years now, and all the Kage respect him.

Itachi is pretty sick so he might be looking to retire in a couple years if it gets bad enough. If not i I'm sure he'd tough it out until the end of the war, and by that time Kon might be ready for the responsibility. Unless they give it to Kakashi since we're still technically really young.

Then we can take over after him and hold the position until our bro gets experienced enough to be Hokage.

I think Kon has quite a chance, I think it depends on how the war goes and the legacy left by it. He has the power level and garra made kage so it's possible I guess, and far from a pipe dream.

The issue is I think Kon would serve better as a roamer, a wandering Sage. I feel it fits him better, his heart between to nations and all.

Here's something though we need to keep practising our spheres so we can throw them and control them at range, that's their best application. Train that hard because if we do we can throw and add fire ourselves or similar spam the fuckers at range.
