You're Abraham Thomson Ackerman, a seventeen year old teenager who used to live out in a country town where anyone knows everyone. A town just out from the west coast and a four hour drive south of the Big Apple of America. A rural town a best, a degenerate shit hole at worst. You spent the last day in your hometown doing anything /but/ what you were supposed to do. If there's anything you hate more than packing, it's 'goodbyes'. Today you're moving to New York City where you'll live in a dorm at the High School you’re transferring to for your last senior year and a half. Transferring before the second term isn’t the best decision, but it’s your only option. Why are you moving there alone? Family problems that you frankly don't care to get into. It's a mess filled with backstabbing and drugs.

Although you'd claim you're not excited in the least at the prospect of moving if anyone asked you, it'd be far from the truth. You see, it’s only been 12 hours since you discovered your active X-gene that have granted you powers you were unaware of - or too stupid to figure out - for 2 whole years! Telekinesis - or A.T, meaning "Adaptable Telekinesis" as you've dubbed it. The name came to you after noticing that at first you could only lift a pebble for a couple of seconds, but after doing that for the better part of last night, you could eventually lift a stone or some of the smaller metal pieces at the local scrapyard for a few minutes. Your powers are weak right now, but they're like a muscle; if you continue to train and stretch their limits, you'll be able to do much more at a longer time.

The train shrieks as it pulls into a stop at the nearby train station. Like you said, it’s a 4 hour drive to N.Y from your hometown, but your insufferable Aunt had, and you quote, ‘better things to do than driving a hopeless kid’. Point is, she only drove you to the nearest town over where you had to spend some of your own saved money to buy a train ticket for the rest of the journey. You’d never say it to her face, but you’ve always thought she’s an outright cunt. Then again, she’s been like that ever since her daughter drowned by Willow Creek a couple of years ago. You can’t blame her for her rude behaviour, even if you wish you could sometimes.

After stepping off the train - ruffing whatever snow left in your hair on the way in - and leaving the platform behind via a couple of stairs, the city feeling starts to sink in upon taking in the grandeur sight of the train station alone. It’s a mix of excitement and danger watching all these people storm about, each an individual in their own right while part of a larger crowd. The smells and odours are strong and many, and there’s countless sounds coming from everywhere. It’s far from the quiet country town feeling you’re used to.

Your backpack is hanging firmly off your right shoulder and with the large duffle bag’s grip in your left hand, you set about figuring out what to do next. You could drop your stuff off at the dormitories, maybe even meet your future roommate or any of your dorm neighbours. You can also skip that for now and visit your sister who lives in the city, like you promised you would over the phone. School doesn’t start for you until tomorrow anyhow - which brings you to your third option; School be damned and your sister can wait. It’s your first time in N.Y! You wanna enjoy it on your own for now!

A promise is a promise, you sigh under your breath right as you push your way through a crowd of tourists scouring about the golden hall of Grand Central Station. You throw a glance back up at the large clock. Buying a watch or a phone is among the first things on your list. Never really had a reason to get a phone out in the country and knowing the time wasn’t as important back then.

Upon leaving the Central Station behind, the cold air fills your lungs and you press your mouth and nose into your green-white scarf that you got for christmas 3 years ago. It still fits, given its size. For the briefest of moments you consider hailing a cab, but you find yourself too nervous to actually go through with it. What if the cab fare is too much? What if it doesn’t take cards?

With doubt clouding your judgement, you resort to walking. The School ain’t far from the Grand Central Station and neither is your Sister’s place. You only get to see her on your birthday’s and on some christmas when she’s allowed to show up back home. You used to see her all the time, but ever since her fallout with your Aunt and Mother a few years back, she moved away. Claims she’s been over in most states before settling in New York. An adventure you hope to go through with as well some day.

The walk takes you about 30 minutes, give or take. You’ve switched the duffel bag between your hands a couple of time while passing through the street blocks, keeping yourself to one side at all times. Crossing the street is a possibility, but there’s so much traffic all over the place. Sooner or later you find yourself in front of the apartment complex where your Sister told you she lives. It’s an old building. You’d wager it holds four or five floors or so. It’s your first time seeing one on the inside.

After checking the names on the panel to your left upon entering, you quickly take note of your sister’s name among the many names written after an apartment number. Jessica Ackerman 3 C, you mutter to yourself repeatedly to not forget it as you make your way up the flight of stairs to the third floor. Doesn’t take more than a minute to spot the already half open door with the “3 C” logo on it. You knock and wait, as country courtesy demands.

“Come in!” You hear a man’s voice coming from her apartment.

/What/?!

Shaking your head at your stupid habit to jump to weird conclusions, you enter the apartment and close the door on your way in. The smell is the first thing that hits you. It’s a mix of roses and dirty clothes. It’s not pleasant, but it’s bearable. It’s not worse than the stench you experienced when you found one of your teachers drunk off his ass by the road heading out from town last August. Apparently he got kicked out of his home by his wife and in a drunken stupor, he decided to leave town. On your way in you pass by a closed door before you reach an open hole where you could have sworn a door used to be. The kitchen lies within. There’s a pile of dirty dishes in the sink.

Averting your gaze with a disappointed sigh, you catch sight of the room on the opposite side; the small living room that’s outfitted with a brown and old leather sofa and grey armchair along with a TV on a wooden stand. No table and no rug. At the end of the living room there’s another room with an open door. From the living room you quickly spot the man sitting in his underwear on the only piece of furniture in the room. A bed.

“You must be Jess’ little bro, right?” He calls out to you when he notices you when you approach him through the living room. Where’s Jessica, you ask him, ignoring the fact that there’s a strange man in only his underwear on your sister’s bed for a moment.

You find your way to the doorway and finally uncover what he’s doing. He’s playing some colorful console game on an even smaller TV than the one out in the living room. There’s enough dirty clothes scattered about to even hide the floor itself in here.

“Yeah, man, she’s out on an errand. Said you’d drop by today tho’.” He replies, too into his game to look your way. You drop your duffel bag as it’s starting to dig into your hand. What to do now?

>[ ] Ignore him for now and let Jessica explain when she comes home. Do the dishes as the good little brother you are while you wait.

You take note of his unnatural red hair and the small burn scars riding along his left arm when he eventually pause his game to set his eyes upon you. The scars remind you of the cigarette marks you always saw plenty of on your Aunt’s mini-veranda, but there’s no smell of smoke in this apartment. No ashtrays or any cigarette stumps laying around either. Without going further into the subject of the stranger’s scars, you size him up. He’s definitely older than you, possibly the same age as Jessica, if not a bit older. He’s wearing colored contact lenses from the looks of it because last time you checked, humans aren’t born with yellow eyes like the ones he has piercing you right now. Must have coloured his stark red hair as well.

And you are, you hear yourself inquire suspiciously. You’re still not sure if you can trust this shady guy.

“Oh damn. Sorry about that.” He remarks, rising to his feet. He’s about as tall as you remember your father to be if you had to guess. “Name’s Clyde. I’m your sister’s new boyfriend. You must be Ackerman. Jessica always talks about you.” He introduces himself with a hand stretched out at you in a greeting. You grab it and let him shake it while you ponder on what he said.

/New/ boyfriend? This is the first boyfriend you’ve ever seen or heard her having. Until now you didn’t even know she had one. Your sister’s not ugly or anything, but it’s hard to believe she wouldn’t tell you about him if you were coming to visit and live in the same city.

What are you doing here, you continue once the handshake has been broken. He opens his mouth for a second, but then closes it. He throws a glance around the room he’s in, eyeing the dirty clothes strewn about.

“I, uh, live here, Ackerman.” He replies with a goofy chuckle while scratching his nose. You already find him mildly irritating. So your sister not only has a boyfriend, but a boyfriend that lives with her? A fact she didn’t even bother to tell you, despite how close the two of you are? Sounds fishy.

Yeah, no. This doesn’t make sense at all. While your sister is all about exploring and experiencing new stuff, she always shares it with you. She constantly sent you postcards while she traveled around, a new state every second week. She’d call home just to talk with you every day or so ever since she settled down in New York for an unforeseeable future while she finishes her college degree. Marine biology. She loves the sea more than anything else if you know your sister right.

Point is, she hasn’t uttered a single word about this guy. He must be lying, but to what degree? Is he living here with her? Is his name even Clyde? He sorta knew about you so he must know your sister somehow. At least that’s one worrisome question out of the way. The dirty clothes in this room all belong to a guy as far as you’re concerned.

If you’re her boyfriend, call her, you press him for more proof. You don’t trust this guy, not at all. Who is he to your sister?

The question will inevitably answer itself when you hear the front door opening and closing promptly thereafter. You’re about to turn about to go meet her when Clyde forces his way past you in silence, pushing you to the side of the doorway. You see a pair of keys thrown from the hallway, landing on the sofa before a woman enters the living room. Her shoulder length brown hair and the stark green eyes reveal her identity: Jessica Ackerman, your big sister.

“You’re home, babe! I missed you!” Clyde cheers, advancing to her side to hug her. Instead he lets out a painful groan upon reaching her when Jessica’s iron fist connects with his gut, sending him to his knees in front of her. He coughs a couple of times, muttering something about mercy that you choose to ignore.

“For god’s sake, put some clothes on, Clyde.” She spits at him with an irritated tone before shifting her gaze over at the other man in the room. Your eyes meet and her tired demeanor turns to pleasantly surprised. Within a few steps, she’s embraced you in a tight hug. You hug her back for a while before you break it off when Clyde passes by, giggling childishly at you.

“You came!” A smile forms on her lips while holding both of your shoulders, scanning you from top to bottom. You still have your jacket and scarf on, but so does she, along with a pair of large headphones around her neck. A promise is a promise, you shrug at her and she ruffs your hair playfully before her eyes wander to Clyde in the other room who is still only in his underwear and has resumed his game.

“He didn’t say anything stupid to you, right?” She asks, her eyes never leaving Clyde. The red haired guy only laughs and leaves it up to you to answer her.

He claims you and him are, you trail off, motioning to Clyde in the other room. You know, on girlfriend-boyfriend terms. Her eyes narrow and leave the half-naked guy as they train themselves on you. She sighs and shakes her head at you with a soft smile before muttering “Give me a second.” before she leaves you in the living room, closing the door to the other room behind her. After the briefest of moments, you hear Clyde shout out in pain, pleading for her to stop and professes that he’s truly sorry for what he did. Although, you don’t hear a single word or noise from your sister the entire time.

The door to the room eventually opens and a whimpering Clyde - fully clothed with his arms holding onto a large bundle of dirty clothes - is pushed out in front of you. “Smell you later, Ackerman.” He smiles through the pain before vanishing from the room. It takes a few seconds before the door opens and closes. He’s left the apartment. Scratching the back of your head, you look over at Jessica who just closed the door to her own room.

“How was the trip?” She inquires - trying to change the subject - motioning for you to take a seat in the sofa before she disappears into the kitchen. She returns presently with two glasses of water. You’re not feeling particularly parched, but you drink your share nonetheless.

It was okay, you lie through your teeth. The only time you can find a justifiable reason to lie to your sister, the family member closest to you - whom understands you - is when it’s about your Aunt. She absolutely hates her guts and the feeling is mutual between the two women. Just hearing about her and her stupid shit triggers a bad mood in Jessica. You didn’t come here to make her upset, so a white lie will make do. You arrived safely, so it was technically an okay trip. No need to make this complicated.

Her gaze lingers on you for a second before sipping on her water. You suck at lying, and you both know it. Still, she probably understands why you’d leave out certain things from her. She gets that it’s for her best and you would never truly lie to her. You share the sentiment.

“So the country boy is finally in New York!” She breaks the silence with a cheer and wide eyes. “Are you hungry? We can order in, or do you wanna go get a coffee or something so I can show you around?”

It took you a whole month to get used to it, but now you like coffee. Still, you need cream and three sugar cubes to fully enjoy it. Black coffee is still too bitter for your taste, and you have no problem if it stays that way. You like your coffee a bit on the sweet side. You agree to go out for a coffee and let Jessica show you around the places you need to get acquainted with if you’re to live in this area of New York City. She leaves her glass unfinished, but you swallow what little water is left in yours before the two of you leave her apartment. She locks her door, which is new to you. Out in the countryside no one locks their doors until late at night. Every house is close to each other and since anyone knows everyone, you can’t break into someone’s house without being seen and eventually caught. The Williamson boys learned that lesson the hard way back when you were nine years old. They always played foul tricks on both kids and adults alike. People let it be - claiming it was boys being boys - but when they eventually turned pranks into burglary, they found themselves in some deep shit. Here in the big city, the latter must be more frequent than the former, even amongst the youth.

You and your sister find your way out into the cold, snuggling into your scarfs as you make your way down the street. You thought she’d hail a cab at first and when asked, she explains cheerfully that her usual coffee shop is just two blocks away.

“Your cab virginity can wait.” She giggles to which you look away, half embarrassed and half irritated to be treated like a kid again. “Just kidding.” She gives you a light punch on the shoulder. You laugh it off sarcastically.

The rest of the journey to the shop revolves around where your school is located, which days she’s free from school and her part-time job that she failed to mention over the phone, and about some mutant everyone’s calling ‘Spider Man’ who swings around the city, stopping crime and saving people. She seems over the top excited while on the subject. She probably has a thing for the guy, whomever he is. Of course, you have powers of your own, but you doubt you could swing around the city with it, least of all save someone or stop crimes with it. You can barely hold a rock steady in the air with your mind for now.

Eventually you reach the coffee shop and fully knowing your preferences, Jessica tells you wait outside while she orders. The place looks pretty full as is, so you doubt you could wait inside. You’ll endure the cold, you lie to yourself. However, minutes pass by and despite the scarf and the jacket over your new school uniform, you feel the cold seeping into your bones. You start to walk in your place, looking out at the street crossing just nearby where busy cars and people make their way about.

Your country courtesy be damned this time. You don’t have to force yourself to endure the cold just to make things easier for the people packed together in the shop. More than half of them are probably in same waiting position as you anyhow. You sister used to hint towards New Yorkers’ strong attitudes and sometimes volatile reactions. Since you’re about to become one, you should be able to adapt to their ways from time to time without letting go of the ways your childhood taught you. Adaptability is a positive trait that will only help you in the end. It might even help with your A.T training since it’s part of the name after all.

You hear a couple of “hey, watch it!” and curses thrown your way as you push your way past the entrance into the crowd. You spot your sister talking with a blonde girl with pigtails who’s making her and your coffee. They’re laughing. Jessica brings up her phone and shows the other girl something. She bites her lower lip for a second and rolls her eyes jokingly before finishing the coffee cups with a wee bit more conversation on the side. Jessica hands her some green bills before leaving the counter with the coffee, heading through the crowd and towards the exit. You’ve warmed yourself up slightly, so you follow her out.

“Ah! That’s good coffee!” She squeals with delight after taking a brief sip of the steaming hot black liquid. You’ll let yours cool a bit. You had a bad experience once with burning your tongue on some of your mother’s freshly homebrewed coffee. You don’t plan to go through with that again if you can avoid it. “Hmm…” Jessica muse out loud, clearly deep in thought. She’s probably trying to figure out where to start the ‘tour’ of this part of New York.

Before she can finish her thought, you both hear a loud screech from a woman across the street, by the crossing.

She has a horror-filled expression across her face and her arm is shooting up, her index finger pointing upwards. To the sky? No, to the person standing by the ledge of the tall apartment complex nearby.

You’re about to say something, anything, when Jessica suddenly pushes her coffee cup into your chest, forcing you to catch it before she pulls her hood up and tightens her scarf over the better half of her face. You watch your sister storm off in the general direction of the man on the roof. You watch in shocked silence as he takes a step off from the ledge and falls, only to find himself stopping mid-air half way down. Underneath him there stands a figure in the middle of the street wearing the same clothes your sister is, reaching with her arm up towards the previously falling man.

Unfortunately, you don’t have the time to process the situation as you catch the sight of an incoming truck heading straight towards where your sister is standing. Jessica doesn’t notice the truck from the looks of it and with the split-second you had at your disposal, you saw that he was too busy texting to watch the road. Without thinking, you throw the coffee cups to the side and rush across sidewalk and the street. You reach your sister's side just in time for the truck to only be a few meters away.

You’re out of breath from sprinting so quickly and pushing your body to the limit, and your heart is beating in your throat when you raise both of your arms at the incoming truck who just noticed the two standing in the middle of the street. He stomps on the brake, but it’s far too late to make the entire truck stop before it’ll crash into the siblings.

You feel the pressure envelope your hands and your arms. The field is invisible to the naked eye, but you can clearly feel it press around your arms, squeezing at your bones while pushing the rest of your upper body backwards bit for bit by your hands as the force field of your telekinetic powers embrace the incoming truck. You close your eyes, certain that this is the end. You escape into your shell, ready to face your maker. However, when you instead hear gasps, cheers, and shouts all around you, you open yourself to the rest of the world again.

In front of you there’s a stopped truck just ways off from your extended arms. The driver is caught in the white auto air bag that exploded out when the entire vehicle was suddenly met with an invisible and impenetrable wall that stopped it abruptly without crushing its front. Looking about, the onlookers have a mixed array of emotions and reactions; most of them are cheering and applauding, but there’s a few of them who look both shocked and afraid of you. A couple of them are making phone calls while staring at you. Suddenly you come to the realization that your face is showing. Becoming a masked vigilante isn’t your goal, but showing your face while exercising your powers in a city known mostly for its anti-mutant views and oppression against such people is a terrible idea!

You tighten your scarf around the bridge of your nose and everything below it just as you’re grabbed by someone from behind.

You swirl about, defensively, but your sister will have none of it and pulls you into the nearest convenient alleyway and around a corner, out of sight from the street. She pushes you against the closest brick wall, staring at you as her stark green eyes pierces you from behind her scarf and the pulled up hoodie.

“For now I’ll ignore the fact that I just saw that. We need to run.” Her voice is shaking, both from the after-effects of using her powers that she kept hidden from you and her own half-panicked state. Where do we go, you ask in a hurry, throwing a glance at the nearest corner leading to the alleway connected to the scene you just fled from. No point asking why you have to run right now. She’ll explain when she can. You trust her.

“We can’t head back to my apartment. They’ll have people looking for us around several blocks from this street.” She backs away from you and close her eyes to think clearly.

Ditch the jackets before we go anywhere. Yeah its cold, but thats what people are recognizing us by right now.
>>
The dormitory, the words leave your lips quietly the second you think them.

“What?” She throws her gaze back at you, searching for answers in your eyes.

We can hide in my dorm room at school, you suggest and throw your arms out in front of you as if you just discovered fire. Jessica lowers her head for a moment, giving it some thought before she motions for you to follow her. The two of you jog lightly to the end of the narrow alleyway until you reach an old and worn dumpster. Upon opening its lid, the horrible odour hits you like the truck from before could have. It’s a mix of rotten eggs and old milk.

“I’d have hoped to keep the jacket for a while longer, but looks like that’s for naught.” She sighs and removes her jacket, throwing it over her left arm while her right hand shoots out to you. “Give me yours too. Our jackets will be the biggest give away from the descriptions gathered at the scene.” You appear reluctant at first, but Jessica waves with her hand impatiently, ”Come on, I’ll buy you a new one later.” And with that, you hand your jacket over to her. She throws them into the dumpster and close the lid before leaving the alleyway. You follow suit.

-

The both of you make it through a couple of blocks out in the open without drawing any attention to yourselves aside from the passing glances from people wondering why you’re not wearing jackets in this weather. Jessica remains as calm as she can be to not draw attention, but you can’t help but look about with a deep rooted paranoia, awaiting the next moment you need to run for your life if any of these mysterious people your sister speaks so grimly of catch up to you.

In one of these instances, you accidentally make eye contact with a man in a suit wearing green gloves that are oddly out of place for his attire. His eyes narrow at you when your gaze lingers a tad too long. You avert your stare and look back in front of you upon the sidewalk.

We might have been discovered, you whisper as discreetly as you can to Jessica. Without looking anywhere particularly, she looks over at you with a tensed expression.

“Are you absolutely sure? If we start running and they don’t know, we’re definitely made.”

You’re not certain in any stretch of the word and its meaning. If you say yes and it wasn’t so, you’ve screwed yourself and your sister over. If you claim they haven’t discovered you and they have, you’ve fucked up majorly. If you take a second glance, the man in the suit will no doubt be alerted. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. The hard decision is weighing down your mind, crushing any other thoughts to dust. You hear the beginning of something Jessica is about to say before something else catch your attention. Something hissing fiercely behind you. While you don’t know what it is, Jessica seems to know all too well as she promptly pulls you down and swirls about - going down on one knee - in single, swift motion. Upon pushing her left hand outwards, you can feel the pressure leaving her arm and hand from next to her as it sends the man in a suit holding a long, tubular firearm flying into the street occupied by the stopped traffic. He crashes into the roof of a cab, remaining there unconsciously.

You both take off in a sprint when you see other men with the same outfits coming around the corner at the end of the street block while talking into what you can only assume to be radio earpieces or something you’d find in a spy movie. They shout for you to stop as they continue their pursuit. You follow Jessica as best you can, fully aware and trusting that she knows her way around this part of the city.

She takes you to a place you’ve only seen in pictures before: Times Square. The large, electronic billboards don’t look as impressive in the middle of the day as their lights do at night. However, the height and size of them still blows your mind for a few moments before your sister pulls you back to reality. She didn’t bring you here to admire the sightseeing. There’s countless people in this central part of New York. You’ll easily melt into the crowd and escape in here.

You both reach and enter the crowd just in time to spot the suited men arriving to the scene, looking for both of you. If they try to search this entire area, it’ll take hours and Jessica is certain they don’t have the manpower or the will to block off every exit out from Times Square for the sake of only catching two mutants.

You’re safe. For now.

Luckily, you copied the papers you received from your school at the local library in your hometown. The original set of papers are stored in your backpack, the one you left with your duffel bag at your sister’s place. The copies are neatly folded in one of your school uniform’s pockets. More or less to make sure you wouldn’t be left stranded with no place to actually live. You need your papers to access your dorm for the first time after all. Usually you need ID as well, but you’re certain you can talk your way past that. Somehow.

Once you reach your school, you take no time to admire the campus or the large building itself with several intersecting buildings connected to it. It’s not safe to loiter about out in public right now. However, the two of you reach a stop after the school entrance, at the reception.

“And I said, he needs an ID for these papers to be valid.” The receptionist repeats firmly, meeting Jessica’s stubborn glare.

“And like I said, he doesn’t have it /on/ him /right now/. We can come back later with it, alright?” Jessica is experiencing a mixture of stress and high levels of annoyance from the sound of her voice. You can’t blame her after everything you just went through, and still is if you can’t get into your dorm.

If there’s anything you’ve learned from being around and observing your cruel Aunt and her pack of crones, it’s that women the same age range of this receptionist responds positively to a few well placed compliments and some good old charm. The kind of charm you got to see a lot from other men around town as you grew up. You hate to use it because it feels cheesy to do it, but if it can mean the difference between safety and another panicked escaped, you’ll swallow your pride every time. Jessica is too stressed and drained to take much note of your words to the receptionist, but eventually she caves to your sweet words and allows you to pass by into the dormitories on the promise that you’ll be back tomorrow before classes start with your ID to validate the papers.

The siblings make their way into the intersecting building where the dormitories are held. According to the papers, your dorm room is on the second floor and you share it with one ‘Anthony Lee’. A name that doesn’t ring any bells for you, nor should it given your background. After slowly pushing their way up the flight of stairs, the pair finally reach your room and with the key given to you by the receptionist, you unlock the door and enter.

The room is small, but it has a bathroom to the left as you walk in and further in there’s a horizontally wide area with two beds, one on either side and a TV in the middle. Very spartan, but you’ll make due. The bed to the left appears to be perfectly made as if it’s never been touched, while the bed on the right looks like someone woke up in it and left without making his bed. Anthony Lee is a sloppy, is the first thing that comes to mind. Fortunately, the rest of the room isn’t in as much of a mess as the bed.

Jessica takes the key from you and locks the door from this side before she stumbled over to your bed and falls onto it.

“Oh god.” She sighs in relief. You take a seat next to her and even though it’s inappropriate to ask outright after this whole ordeal, you can’t keep your curiosity at bay.

Who are those men, you inquire carelessly, and why are they after you? Your sister takes a few moments of rest to figure out what to say before she too rise up to sit on the edge of the bed, next to you.

“It’s a long story, but I guess the main reasons are that I knew someone they were after and I helped him escape the city, so now they want me. Of course, they don’t know my identity because I’ve been sorta careful, but the second they get a call that someone is using… whatever it is we have, they pick up the chase. Every time. I think they want to know where this guy escaped, but I don’t know. I only helped him flee, I didn’t pick where to.” She explains carefully while lowering the blinds over the only window in the room. You’re not sure how to respond. The fact that she has powers like yours is alone enough to stun you into silence, but she’s involved with some dangerous people as well now?

The sound of a key unlocking the door to the room puts you both on edge, but when a man the same age as you and of Asian origin from the looks of it enters the room, you ease up. You sister, on the other hand, does not and you’re about to find out why when Anthony Lee’s eyes widen at the sight of you.

“You’re those espers! The ones who saved me!” He exclaims excitedly with a massive grin.

Fuck, is the only word echoing in your head.
