This is why both go under the umbrella Arousal(generalistic) which is a state the amygdala goes into when something non-routine occurs. Both of those previous states of arousal result in stress hormones being produced(the same dump because it's the amygdala's initial response) followed by chemical productions and dumps throughout the body as the rest of the brains executive functions kick in which look very similar even after the adjustment has been made.
