Ah, the old daily dose system, fair enough.
Give one to our new hobgoblin and start prepping him into a our very first front liner shocktrooper by practicing in armor and with a sword. Give the other piece to one of the swordgobs. Have the scouts tracking and memorizing human 3men group movements to better set up ambushes using numbers and traps. If we're smart about this we can outflank and take each group out quick, but try to see what they're trying to look for first.
